  1. Inconsistan hands because of concentration. Proper route running = getting open. Speed can only do so much, unless you are playing against the Ravens secondary......... He just never took his game to the next level there in Mini and having Diggs beat him out, wow, never would have guessed that one, but Diggs has worked hard. it is a pipe dream, I think the team is done for now, no sense loading up with receivers when they have no idea what Perriman can do in real games and if their latest additon pans out, they will need to contract him up, so you really would not need Patterson at that point... They should know over the next two games if their new hire can help this offense or not, either by how he does or by how he opens up the middle...
  2. Yeah, they should have waited for the season to end. Maybe make a run at Chip Kelly.....
  3. The Vikes have pretty much benched the wide out we know so well from that game he had against the Ravens, in the snow, one of the most exciting games of all time; Cordell Patterson. Great return man, speed, upon speed, could be had for a 5th maybe a conditional 6th..... Doesn't run routes too well, but his quickness and speed.... wow...
  4. Yes, I can see we agree on a lot. My mistake thinking you wanted public records, sorry about that.... I recently saw a news story where police we called to a man's home and they found over 100 guns of different types; he was arrested. The news story did not cover why they were called nor why he was arrested; I am sure it was for other reasons other than owning a lot of guns. I just envision a time when tht will be the only reason. But one point I cannot give in on is how they accumulate the stats for gun violence. You can look it up if you want, but what I said true; they include gang related shootings & deaths in their numbers. Those numbers are greatly increased if we include the numbers. Just look at Baltimore and Chicago over a 10 day period for shootings & killings. They can combine for close to 20 deaths and more than 50 shootings. Multiply that out for a year and you can see how those gang related numbers will greatly affect legally owned gun shootings & killings. I do agree, these mass shootings are clearly on the rise. When I was young, you never heard of this, never. Now, could be the media did not report on it as they do today, or that it never happened, don't know. But while they use guns to do this, most of them were illegally obtained, this shooter appears to have them legally, which would not be the norm. So I am not sure how stronger gun laws will make much of a difference. When a prson feels wronged enough, they will strike out any way they can. This is a psychological fact that can not be argued against. Go to your local library (or else if you use a search engine the feds will come visit you ) and look up books on making simple but effective boomers. Boston was a good lesson on this and some one desperate enough to go shooting up schools, malls, churches, etc, will turn to that and using books, who will know?
  5. It isn't that simple. There is a psycology that plays a huge roll in how some one kills. Guns are more personal than a bomb, knife is more personal than guns, bare hands are the most personal way to kill some one. But if a person is too weak to use their hand they reach for a weapon,. If there is no knife, they get a gun. If they cannnot get a gun, they will use a bomb. Look no further than Oklahoma bombing, sure they used guns as well, but the premise holds- it is easy to make them without the feds knowing. Look at Columbine, again, the bombs did not work, but they tried to use them, they built them with out anyone knowing. Why should thee be a limit on how many guns some one owns? Some people collect sports memorbilia, some colect knives, some toys, some guns. At shooting ranges they are fun to shoot, no different thn going to the golf range or batting cage. Not everyone who collects guns wants to hurt people. In fact, as I said ealier, if you factor out the killins & shootings done by gangs with illegal guns, gun vilonce is at its lowest rate than ever before, dispite more people owning more guns than ever before in this country. I do agree with back ground checks, it is simple & easy. What I don't agree with is limiting the number of guns for a person nor making those registrations public.
  6. I cracked two ribs in the first half of a game, never missed a snap in that game nor the remainder of the season, another 6 games.... you Floridians, so whimpy, whimpy, whimpy....
  7. He was speared center mass on the back, not sure how the back ribs would break and not the transverse process; which is the most common back injury break. But then, we are all different and he was turning when hit....
  8. pshht, broken ribs, palease, he can play with a vest on; taint no big deal to play with broken ribs.....
  9. If you have time right now, or over the next few weeks, try & catch a WVA game (they are at the half right now vs Oklahoma). This kid has range, instincts & speed to get from his position in the middle to the side lines, quickly. Hitter? you bet, he was voted as the biggest hitter in the College ranks. There is no doubt the Ravens need a safety, he could be the one, a four year starter with good cover skills and who can tackle....
  10. a conditional 7th round pick, he can return kicks as well. Great move no matter how it works out...
  11. This entire premise is incorrectly applied. See, when they do gun stats to shootngs & killings, they include those done with illegally obtained guns and by gang violence. You cannot include those stats when using stats on gun deaths such as these mass shootings. Do some states need stronger gun laws? Mandatory back ground checks? Yes, but this shooter had been through the process, so how exactly does the President or any think this could have been stopped? How do you legislate mental illness into gun laws? What constitues mental illness? An over night stay at a mental facility? No how easy it is to get some one involuntarily comitted for a 24 hour watch? Would that disqualify them from owning a gun? Do you want to pass laws limiting the number of guns a person can own? Look, bad people who want to do bad things will find a way; just look at the recent stabbings that went on around the world. Sure, less body count... Know how easy it is to build an explosive device? With parts easily obtained from the super market, hard ware store, even craft stores. It is very easy to get an illegal gun, so bad guys such as this guy, who, at this point, was perfectly sane, would still have found guns. It is a slippery slope, yes, more registration is needed where none exists, but no, you do not have a right to know I have a gun nor how many I own. Sorry....
  12. I didn't see his hit, I think it was a shoulder though. Smith sr was speared, point of the helmet directly into the back. That is why he was so upset, some pundits thought he was mad about the hit, when he was mad about the type of hit.
  13. If you get a chance tonight, watch this Clemson vs Notre Dame game. Will Fuller, a jr, may or may not come out next draft. But this kids has speed, quickness, great body control, good leaping ability and big, dependable hands. He will likely be ranked in the top five wide outs, could be a first rounder, but the way some of these teams draft based on optics and stats, he could slip to the 2nd if he comes out.
  14. There should be a fine coming for that Steeler player. Spearing is never right, against the rules, and flat out piss poor cheap play. Dude is lucky he didn't crack his neck.
  15. Dude can move, 4.35 or better. Has the quicks you like, career stats 88 catches, 1433 yards, 16 average per play, 4 tds, most of this catches came his rookie year. This a good move, young, hungry receiver with something to prove. He was jjust burried on the depth chart.,
  16. 4th down, chains to his side, over time. Nothing more could prove the receiver to his side was doing a simple out route, past the sticks. Yet Smith was a mile away, playing as if it would be a double move.................
  17. Close in coverage? Really? If the ball had been thrown properly, it is a catch. Smith had nothing to do with it being incomplet.... Come on man,.....
  18. Nope, as his playing time increased in college, so too did his injuries. That, plus his size and that he is a slot guy (which means more hits) = low draft grade.
  19. I agree, it is the type of quickness this team has never had at the position. The only reason I was against drafting him was because of his propensity to get hurt. He is a hard worker with a lot of talent.
  20. Mike Vick was at QB, a lefty in place of a righty, the Steelers only letting him use half the field. A win is a win, but some one I see this one as a loss; they still looked like crap, offense, defense, but not special teams. Play calling, ugh, defensive strategy, oye vey.....
  21. Crickets? An ugly game, but when the Ravens needed a score with 1:05 left on the game clock, Joe drove them down field for yet ANOTHER game tying drive. Crickets? When the Ravens needed a score, Joe drove them down for a game winning score....
  22. Yes it was aoccring to Cris Carter and also Brown, who responded to a text from Carter after the game. Brown didn't expect it to fade down so much.
  23. Steve Smith sr type of player, plays big, even though he is small, 5'-9" 179. Great hands, great body control, he doesn't just have quickness, he has anckle breaking jitter bug quickness. Great return man, fabulous out of the slot, on sweeps, he is a tough nutter. the last three seasons, 78, 68 and so far this year, 34 receptions. He averages just over 11 yards per catch, mostly in the catch & run style, though he des go deep from time to time. You likely missed him last night against the U, where he had 8 catches for 108 yards.... Keep an eye out this season, he would be a nice fit here in Baltimore. I thought he would have come out last year, but he decided to stay and help his team win.... http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/512086/shaq-washington
  24. Brown is pressing too hard, we can see this by him dropping easy, uncontested passes. He normally has great hands, the knock on him had always been lack of speed/quickness and route running. He still has those issues, gets sloppy with his routes, but now his hands have gone bye-bye because he is trying to make plays, trying too hard. Fixable? Eh, some get over it, some never do-yipps... Camp has the quickness and great hands, but the issue with him is staying healthy, even in college he could not consistantly stay on the field. With him doing returns, they need to limit his time on offense. Last night should have made it clear to the team they need to bring some one in, that there is not a dependable receiver outside of Smith Sr, on this team. Aiken is too inconsistant, Waller is far too raw but a great special teams player.
  25. Didn't have much to do with Smith, more so on who was throwing the ball the the net defense the Ravens ran; let them catch it and run to tackle......
