I guess Nixon was innocent too, afterall, the media uncovered the truth there, they must have made it up too.............
-
PTI has not come on yet, Golic was not saying the Ravens were right and the report wrong. He was saying what some others have said; ok, they all got it wrong, they all lied at some point, at this point what matters is to fix things, Oh and in case you didn't know how real shows are run, they plan every thing, so each takes a side, so that people watch, confrontation sells. More truth for you, I know some local shows run by certain people don't do that, they just kiss.
-
TBird, as I said, we see, hear only what we want. Proof- Um, luckily I did- See, you missed that part. You also missed the part where you said and I quote- And I replied that Sports Center is just that; sports and news and since they spent most of the day yesterday covering this, they had to let it lie back (pun intended) so their other shows could cover it, again, as they ALL did yesterday. There is ample proof of at least one lie from Biscut, I pointed it out quite clearly for you, but as you did with my other remarks, that I quoted, you missed them. I've been around for a log time, luckily , I know a lot about how the league opperates, how teams opperate, how some supposed "websites" opperate, and how they all spin the truth. As I defined the other day, to me, a lie is either saying false things, telling half truths to make a point or using the truth to decieve another. In this instance, the Ravens, Biscut, is guilty of atleast one of those definitions, the leggue of all of them. I chose to root for the Ravens and will continue, albeit on a much lesser scale, not because of a coach or one player, not because they win, not because of an owner. Rather because I love the game, they are my home team and I love them as a team, good & bad, seasons & people. Maybe if you could step back for a moment you would see, in real life, people lie, teams lie, mostly because it is all about money. That is the major reason Biscut is "speaking out" to keep you lining his pockets.
-
Luckily, I can choose for whom to root or not to root, there is no question. You made a statement, I showed you that you were, luckily, a bit off and you retort with opinion and insults; Nice, we are so lucky to have you around. Oh and which media is saying DV is CAUSED by? Some are asking the question if SOME OF THESE INSIDENTS ARE RELATED, because we know of at least one case, where it was quite obvious when the K.C player couldn't handle his mental illness caused by concusions and killed his girl friend and him self. See, you chose to hear only what you want to hear and when called on it, fail to admit it, and name call others to deflect. Luckily, you can repent, you are not Biscut, right? Seems to be his motto. And if/when Ozzie retires after the season, maybe your memory will be good enough to remember, that I luckily told you. Why should it go away? In their, the legaue's and Biscut's own words- we want change, we wil hold our selves to a higher standard, everyone deserves a second chance, one mistake should not cost a good man his job. So if we want change, then, that means holding them, all of them, accountible. Luckily we have social media to keep this going until there is real change.,

As I mentioned, Mke & Mike covered it again, now First Take is going to cover it, again, I am sure, SVP and his show will cover it, again, the list will grow as the shows come on today. They all covered the press conference yesterday, and every show that came on yesterday after it, talked about it. NBC's morning fluff show, Today, talked about it, again, I am pretty sure the other fluff mrning shows did as well. This is not going away, though people are getting tired of talking about and want to see what the changes will be.
-
I wil bet and would love to truly know how hard Biscut fights the NFLPA to get cap relief for players who act out and thus, get cut.... This should be interesting to see if the Ravens, Panthers, Vikes, and Niners get relief for next year's cap....

I am lucky to have this conversation. I was not speaking of Lewis, but of Stallworth, whom I have mentioned in this thread, who, Biscut mention in the presser, but only in the context of an employee, not as a player. So he, Donte, has every bit to do with this convrsation, Luckily, Biscut mentioned him in the presser, along with Cris Carter, who was not very happy that Biscut left out that Cris was signed a week later with the Vikes after being cut by the Eagles. Meanwhile, many owners have said Rice will never play a down in the NFL again. So again, I ask, is hitting a women worse than killing some one? Luckily I can ask that question again. I know Biscut apologized, again, just as he did in the letter he sent to the ticket holders and in the canned interview he did. He repeated it over & over yesterday. It is what he apologized for, it is not being honest. Again, luckily I can say this; why not say, admit, what everyone knows? That they cut Rice simply because of the pressure from the fans, the media? Proof, luckily, is in his own words that if the league had suspended Rice for 6-8 games, he would still be on the team- Biscut's own words. So Biscut did not cut Rice for hitting a women, he cut him because of outrage by fans & media. Maybe we should have had a bigger ground swell about who to draft, that way they draft who we want, not who they think should play for the team; luckily the team doesn't work that way.
-
Did you happen to hear Biscut confirm that his head of security did in fact speak with the Jersey PD about the tape and that it was described to the chief how horrifying it was. That the cheif then went to Cass to tell him about the tape? Oh but Biscut dodged it by saying the tape was wobbly and blurry, you know the tape we all saw. No matter the quality it was clear what happened. Biscut even implied the old; the story changes with each person who shares it, mantra. Did you not find it funny that Biscut never talked with Ray before the video came out? His words by the way, in another canned interview. Did you hear him dodge the question about Ozzie fully siding with what Ray told them, how the video confirmed what Ray said?
-
As I said, Biscut said if Rice had been suspended for 6- games, he would stil be on the team. Thus, his statement that Ray lied to them about what happened in the elevator is false. His assertion that they cut him because of his lie is in fact, a lie. They clearly cut him because of the outrage. So, just admit it. Sports Center is only one program, they have to show sports. But Mike & Mike and the other shows, are standing by the OTL story. So yes, you too are only haring what you want to hear. It makes no sense, none, to sign a player who killed a person, but cut a player who hit one; NONE. It makes no sense that Biscut would not want to see the tape, never thought to see the tape before making his decision on Rice.
-
"People will hear what their ithing ears want them to hear." -God. Yes, this includes me, but what my ears wanted to hear was Biscut saying;"Yes we screwed up, we let public outrage, pressure- force us into releasing Rice. Proof of this are in his remarks about 1) rehiring Rice to work there 2) signing Stallworth 3) Ozzie's remarks that Ray told them exactly what was on the tape 4) They only cut him after the tape made it to the public. 5)Biscut order not one but two closed door meetings 5) Biscut mispoke/lied about the punishment the league would give- in other words, first he said the MAX Rice could get was two games and Steve thought maybe, 4-6 maybe, but it was not likely. Later on Biscut said he expected 4-6 games, maybe as much as eight. So how could he expect more than the max the league was allowed per CBA? My ears simply wanted to hear Biscut admit the public's reaction was why he cut Rice. How do we know? Because he said plainly, clearly, that if Rice had been suspended from the get go for 6-8 games, he would still be on the team. So yes, Biscut, once again, LIED to the public, to the media and thus, most of the things in the ESPN article are correct.
-
Nor do I, and I have to say, I am so glad I don't. Oh and papa, he did mention your favorite explayer, Stallworth, but only that he spoke to the players about his off the field issues, not that Biscut signed him even though Donte got drunk and killed some one. So I guess hitting a women is worse than killing some one. And the head lines leading into the presser, words from the Biscut were; "the fans need to hear our side". This fan did not hear anyting directed to the fans, only, and in your words directly, words for the media to address them about the article they wrote. aaaa pssst hack, hack.
-
And I am convinced, Ozzie is one of the sources for the OTL article.
-
What a complete joke, seriously. You spend the time preparing an article of your own, instead of rading it, you hand it to the each reporter in the room, give them five minutes to read it & digest it, then take questions. All just to stick your nose up at the media because OTL didn't give you guys enough time to respond to their article before they ran with it? Really? Then dodge questions, point the finger at Ray, his lawyer and friends, once again.... Ok, we get it Biscut, you are untouchable and that is all this press conference was; you showing the media you are untouchable. Not answering questions the fans have, the fans who are a little more aware of the game than the pom-pom crowd who only watch on Sunday as a ack ground noise or when the team is in the playoffs. Rice will never play for us again, ever, but we will hire him because, people change, deserve a second chance. Why does he deserve a second chance five years down the road and not five days down the road? Oh and as far as I am concerned, your integrity is gone with me, not that it matters.
-
Still no number one receiver, Smith, T, looks like he has slowed down quite a bit. Outside of the TE's and Smith, S, no one can get open or catch the ball.... Oh and the safeties still suck, linebackers are still late or caught up in traffic, more than not. Cleveland was giving up 5 yards per befor ethis game, so not sure they can run the rock or not. Certainly not in short yardage. Same team so far.........
-
Or if they DID cover things up, then what? Odd isn't it, that only two people knew about the exact text between Biscut and Rice, yet the text comes out......Oh it comes out after the jersey buy back........ Oh there is an electronic paper trail from the Jersey PD to the Ravens office, and back again. Well after the arrest so as to show it was not Ray calling them to say he was arrested, but rather, the securty supervisor calling the PD about the recording. If Ozzie, a well respcted man in your organization tells you that Ray was completely honest about what was on the tape, (remeber, Biscut said in his canned interview, he never spoke with Rice directly), why would you not take said well respected employees word? Why would you turn around and not only make Rice a liar, but said stellar employee? Too many things Max, no matter what they say tomorrow, too many things. Yes, they screwed up in cutting Rice, now again in making him out to be a liar just to cover their idiocy.
-
aaaaaand the Ravens did that for Rice? As Rooney said today; "one mistake should not cost a good man a career." guess who he was talking about..... Yes, Ray, we know very well about many of the cover ups that went into your career here in Baltimore, or is that Woodlawn?
-
Max, let me help ya here
-
between the jersey give back and the text from Biscut, Rice is not a happy camper and my bet, is singing like a canery to the media behind the scenes. Tomorrow should be intersting to see what Biscut told his ilk to say. What ever it is, you can bet, for the average fan they won't even know anything went on and are happy the Ravens won, yippie... For the more die hard fan, it will be enough, they will, like Max, think the best, after all, Rice is the one who hit Janay, hit, not beat her, let us remember that part. The question is, what happens with the casual fan? Do they walk away? How many of the die hard fans walk away, or at least, stop buying the merchandise, just keep what they have, attend one or more less games per year, dvr the games to get around the ratings......?
-
Remember, before the story broke, Biscut called two mandatory circle the wagon meetings, so I have little doubt, what ever they plan to say next week, was done earlier this week, they just got beat tothe punch by ESPN, thus, the Byrne statement.
-
Yep, this is the "perfect" out of Ozzie. He is a player first, before management, always has been. I just can't see him sticking it out through the lies, mistruths, etc, that makes a player look worse than he truly is, so I can see Ozzie "retiring", maybe after the season, maybe sooner.
-
Based on what we, as outsiders have seen by their actions, their own mispeaks (if you listen closely) I will take the report over the spin of the Ravens. The report just makes more sense.

CYA, CYA, please, please believe us, the media is lying, the media is lying, the sky is falling, the sky is falling, there is a wolf in the sheep's pen, a wolf in the sheep's pen.... http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2014/09/20/ravens-execs-fans-need-to-hear-our-side-of-the-story/ This should be rich, spin, spin spin....... Transparent? I think not, one of you very own Execs contradicted your very own Owner. Since when is telling the truth, the honest, entire truth "new territory? Unless, Mister Byrne, new territory is telling the truth? Unlike some/many, sorry, if it is not the entire truth, it is a lie. If it is the truth but used to deceive people, it is a lie. Transparent? Come on, sure, many fans are nnaive not this pony, I know there are things teams normally cannot disclose, but not in this case. All it would have taken was the truth, a six game suspension, and everyone would be happy, even the NOW groups. But go ahead, most of your fan base has the wool pulled over their eyes, others just don't care and just want to watch football, no matter how many times you raise ticket prices, cconcession prices, paraphernalia prices, etc. This lemming is getting off the bus, you keep driving, they will follow.......
-
Just a guess on my part, but after all of this, when the news comes out about this cover up, and the national medai gets a hold of it, the fury will be huge. I know several owers have done just as worse, but they were able to keep it hush-hush. Not this story, that video is going to change the NFL and lead to owners being held just as responsible as they hold their players. Smith has the leverage now, why do you think the presser was 15 minutes late? They were trying to get Smith there and either it was impossible or he flat refused. I believe the later. The owners want an out lause to save cap space, the only way the NFLPA is going along with that is by using the words of the owners, via Goody- we hold our selves to a higher standard than the players- against them; thus now setting up penalties for owners like Biscut, Wolf, Danny Boy, Jerryboy, etc. Finning them will not be enough for the masses nor for the players; so draft picks and cap space is almost a must, it is the only way to truly penalize the owner.
-
This was starting to simmer down on ESPN, now, after the Goody presser, it's caught fire again. I would be surprised if Bill couched his second answer, I did not see any video interuption on the deadspin feed, but since they asked him again, it would seem he did change the tone of his answer. Both answers can be true, but I am of the mind his first one is the right one. Frankly it matters not right? Goody did tell the saints, no knowing is not an excuse and hammered them. His turn.

Another shot to the NFL, Cards running back arrested
tsylvester replied to tsylvester's topic in NFL General
Word is, Goody and the owners will use this to build an escape clause, part of which already exists, that lets them out of the contacts with no cap ramifications, cap relief. This could go two ways. They get it, or the players fight and we end up with a trike/lock out. Smith has the upper hand now, publicly, especially with the cover up that went on and Goody's neck being on the line. Dwyer was smart or truly is mentally ill. If not ill, but claiming he wanted to die, the NFl had to put him on the non football illness list, which means they can cut him, but they have to settle with him; so either way he will get paid, unlike Hard and AP, who can be cut at any time. The Vikes cut Jerome Simpson, with one game left in his suspension, so it is clear, they are tired of it.... It should be interesting to see what the Dolphins do with their golden boy, who had his suspension over turn only to get popped again, and now is back on a 4 game suspension... idiot.
