  1. Decade and a half... Which is officially half my life! It's been real, Spen.
  2. Yeah, could. Ijust think they don't want to get caught in any way... Once you bring kids in,anything changes for the worse and you're screwed. Meanwhile, in being selfish, I was simply more annoyed that my school wasn't going with the trend!
  3. Also, my school just closed... So complaints over lol.
  4. WaPo weather gang, literally minutes ago, live blogging the new models as they come in: The NAM runs rather slow. So lets look at timing again a bit. It has measurable precipitation by 3 p.m. through the immediate area, and this is after snow begins in the hour or two prior. Not heavy yet, but itll stick quick given its been so cold and will likely stay near or below freezing on Friday. (NAM officially has snow at12pm)
  5. Well, not sure on that. Most models calling for 1pm arrival of light snow. And given bad calls in recent past, they want no part of having anyone on the road in that. Even an early dismissal would have elementary buses running at 3 or later, right when every other schlub in town is cutting out of work to get home... in flurries or worse.
  6. And man did supermarket lines show it the last three days... I'm just annoyed that right now every school district but mine has closed tomorrow, wisely, to help avoid the drive home insanity... Official bet: 28" in north Baltimore
  7. Just saw the breakdown of the deal. Crazy but good, I'd say: 17 per year for 7 3.5 per year for another 10 or something 1.5 per year for 4 So, it's really a 20 year deal. No interest on later years and deferments. Lots of flexibility now for a little payout later
  8. Roch says Davis means Cespedes offer is of the table. Still need pitching. Less worried about bats, but still would prefer something proven to some of the maybes we have at the top of the order... Rickard Rf Manny 3b Jones cf Davis 1b Trumbo dh Kim lf Wieters c Schoop 2b Hardy ss I mean, I could move so many guys around and that's a killer line up...
  9. Davis signs at 7 years, 161m. So we caved about 1m per year. Still very torn on it. Guessing it means no Cespedes or other decent signing, including any pitching...
  10. Post of the offseason. There still is hope to be found... But we need to sign someone to brave the rotation a bit. Not Gallardo.
  11. Yeah, the moving around has me bothered... but I would do the deal being discussed. Still doesn't help our OBP much, but I would take it. I think Upton is still on the table - and if we could get him for 4 or 5 years, I would care less about the pick. But I prefer Cespedes over Upton. Here's my beef: here's (another) bat that we're about to throw 5 years and 80+m at - or at least say we will. But we've never topped 50m on a pitcher. A big part of me would have just as well paid Chen what we're offering Cespedes. Or hell, pay them both and then not get Davis. Not really sure who's pitching for us this year. Though I did like that I heard Buck recently say that Bundy is up this year no matter what - he's out of options (not sure how that happened?) but Buck said, "If you have no options, you're not in pencil - you're in ink."
  12. Same age, same disease too...
  13. Both videos feature the image of him with the blindfold & buttons. Every lyric in every song seems tied to walking away / being pulled away from a legacy. Haunting.
  14. Great clip - the headphones are weird though. Maybe not a fan of the earpieces?
  15. Honestly,I have almost no familiarity with him or the group. I saw much of the response online, was surprised someone didn't say it, but it would have been a bit insincere or at least appropriating if I got in on it.
  16. Been a few like that recently... Robin Williams comes to mind. Not someone I stopped to think about all the time or went out of my way to see, but then he's gone and it feels heavier than so many others. The clip of Bowie on MTV when it first came out and (politely) ripping them for not playing black music and artists... Only adding to my obsession today.
  17. Got stuck at the Harbor Tunnel for almost 90 minutes today on the way to work... The whole set on WTMD was Bowie with virtually no breaks save a few "just listening to him" moments.
  18. By the way... RIP Bowie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v--IqqusnNQ
  19. See, I just don't find Q's dialogue that brilliant... with exceptions. Loved Inglorious Basterds... but even part of that had me shaking my head. Still need to see Django. I just think too often the lines are "cool" because he says/thinks they are cool... much like the stylized violence. Seen parts of Birdman - enjoyed what I saw but out of context.
  20. Have seen that on prime but moved past .. May have to check it out. Had no clue what it was
  21. Still a bit confused, but close... I guess it could be a"single take" but include cuts. Does the camera cut, or just float as you describe (like following the overhead cameras in NFL games these days that fly all over?) Either way, sounds cool. Saw an extended trailer that looked cool. Really enjoy everyone involved too.
  22. Ditto again. And I really dislike him as an individual - more than I dislike his movies, even. (I actually agree with some of his advocacy, but his attitude is infuriating)
  23. Agree 100% on Tarantino. Stylized violence is just that, but doesn't make it good filmmaking. The Big Short was brilliant. Started slower than I expected, but amazing - hysterical, infuriating, suspenseful... And of course let me nerd out on some econ complexity and data.
  24. How can a scene be no cuts and multiple angles?
  25. Yeah, the draft pick was key. Had forgotten about it. Not an Upton fan, but I'd gamble a year or two on him
