Well certainly. I just don't think Gausman will be pitching BP.
-
Gausman isn't a softie... He can dish perhaps better than anyone on the team, but the injury is an issue.
-
I'm most afraid of the Jays simply being in Toronto... Something in the water up there. That said, bold prediction: Josh Donaldson entered his mid season slump of all slumps starting today or tomorrow... That will help.
-
I'll take Parmelee's production last night! Then again... Pearce had 2 HR in his first 2 games this year... and then the rest of the season happened.
-
Well, the blackout thing for MLB.com makes some sense simply because it pulls revenue away from the teams directly... though I know there are many flaws with it. My buddy travels frequently to NC for work and that is considered part of "MASN" and is blacked out... of course, no cable companies there actually carry MASN or very few... so when he's there, he can't watch.
-
I like Mike Bordick - but not as an announcer. I'm about to say/post this and you'll never be able to not hear it when he broadcasts: he reads every graphic they put up, word for word, without fail, no matter how mundane or simply irrelevant some of the numbers are. It's infuriatingly simple. Someone tell him to stop. I love Palmer. Can't handle Thorne.
-
Not a fan of the O's announcers except for Palmer. Roch as I refer above is tweeting and blogging on MASN.
-
Roch referring to this team as it AAA line up... Machado grounding out is akin to taking a knee... And how can we go any easier when the reserves are already playing?
-
I was joking about posting with myself, not annoyed with you all. I never post at work, but summer time!!! Parmelee ... Yeah, I'd take this inning over Pearce and Young...
-
Continuing this conversation with myself... they optioned Chen (!?!). Roch's justification is that the Jays demolish lefties, so skipping his start in Toronto this weekend is maybe a good move... and it allows them to "test drive " Parmelee for ten days before bringing Chen back up for his subsequent start. Still strikes me as odd. But I guess worth taking advantage of every minor league option we have on some guys. In the end, we need some pop from our outfield bats and some support in the middle infield...
-
Follow up: Rochs bet is that they will option Wright down... But that only solved the problem for a week as we'll be down a pitcher. In the end, someone in the offense is getting cut... Maybe it will be Parmelee after this week try out.
-
Parmelee is in the Orioles line up tonight... Still not sure who's going down or out to make that happen, maybe a DL move unexpectedly. O's had until today to call him up or he could walk, so I guess they are trying him out. Gotta be Pearce or Young if someone is going... I would bet on Pearce, but that is the infield in a tight spot for a bit.
-
Here's really only staying on in part out of loyalty and in part because he has played some second this season. We really have no legit backup for Hardy and Flahrety right now... But with Young and Reimold, there's no space for him in the outfield. Question is, do we want a real utility player or a back up for Davis, which could be in the form of Parmelee or Walker?
-
You know, for ask the talk about a weak AL East... There only one division in baseball with four teams over 500 right now. No one is running away... But maybe that's because they're all pretty decent and beating up on each other. I still think the Yanks will fade far... Their bars are fake and arms even worse. Don't think the youth of the Rays can keep up. Jays are legit but I still think pitching will be their weakness asking with the injury/slump trends of Batista, Encarnacion and Davidson... O's have as good a shot as anyone and so much depth in the minors. My question: how long until Pearce gets the ax?
-
The wild pitches have had me smiling this series. McCann might be able to hit but he can't catch anymore. Neither could Russell Martin. And oh man is Carlos Beltran a mess. See that their on the Machado double? He bounced it ten feet in front of the cut off... The throw didn't make it 50ft. Then a few plays later he couldn't manage a cut off on a ball and let it to the wall. Then the Lough hr which should have been caught (and someone please shut up Eric Karros - how did no one in the booth know the ground rules about that hr wall vs fence?)
-
VA - never doubted. I really liked a tweet by Roch last night. "Not sure how this is possible because I was told the season was over weeks ago."
-
Reimold was safe there. Unreal they reversed that play.
-
Reimold back up and starting today. If he ever can stay healthy, I still believe his impact could be huge and could maybe lock down one of those corner spots. He's been hit in AAA the last weeks... Bring it too the big leagues like Matt did!

Yeah, I think the time was more important than the money. The reality is, sometimes to a fault, this team is scared of long term commitment. And the other reality is that in many cases, that's not going to be a bad thing.
-
Yeah, he is having a great year for a lead-off man ... I have had the same thought. I also wonder if that production is worth as much as they paid him and for four more years. Hard to think. The reality is, Snider-Young-Lough are only slightly underperforming compared to Nick's batting stats the last few years - and outperforming his power and speed. The defense and intangibles in the clubhouse, though...
-
Paredes has been dead the last ten games - one hit I think. Markakis' bat wasn't much to replace the last few seasons. But his defense and leadership were something.
-
Decision made by me being frugal... the online downloads are all the same price, but the local gamestop has AC3 for $7 ... Thanks for the input, crew. ;)
-
With some hours to myself this weekend, I'm going to be a slug. Narrowed to three choices - all fairly old - that I'm considering. Unfortunately, prices are all the same ($20) as I missed any sales, I suppose: Dishonored (heard it's in the vein of "Thief" which has always been my fav series) Batmany - Arkham City (played Asylum and enjoyed it, didn't love it. Have heard good things) Assassin's Creed III (I remember some of the convo you all had here, but not all of it... the series was kind of wearing on me last I played it a few years ago) And... go. First recommendation may just win.

Scott Coolbaugh. Forgot about that change this year. Honestly, haven't noticed much different in most guys this year - of anything, Jones seems more patient at times. But most of the others? Just what I expected to see from them... Including the likes of Pearce and Snider, who I think Duquette saw as his new magic beans that everyone else overlooked... I'm trying to temper frustrations though because the reality is, unless we want a team full of contracts that the Yankees and Dodgers are dealing with, we have to play the odds on some of these underachievers... Sometimes you hit, sometimes you miss. At least, unlike a big contract, a miss will only sting fora few months or year.
-
I disagree on Pressly, the hitting coach. I also disagree on Duquette but agree about his distracting this season. Meanwhile, VA - another win after a gripe! Do it again!! ;)
