  1. This team is hungover from Steelers game. Total domination by Indy.
  2. Ugly is right. This has all the makings of hangover game. I expect the team to looking like and playing the dude who lost his tooth in "Hangover". We are beat to crap and only if Lamar lights it up (like he did last year) do we have a chance to sneak a W in Indy. He must have a monster game to even stay in the game. I believe this game gets ugly early and afterwards the media/pundits are left asking whether the Ravens are even a playoff team this year.
  3. Yeah, its all how you look at it. Jamal was actually a cheap OL holding penalty away from a beautiful 60-65 yard run which would have given him 360+ yards. It was a huge game and yes many long runs but whatever. Monster game from the "hammer". The dude flat out could take over a game.
  4. Well said Max ! Yep, even Trent was able to get the monkey off his back. Boy, wouldnt you love to have a 2020 version of Jamal? Still remember his 295 yd game against the Browns (and we were there !) Would love to have that "hammer" again.
  5. I m still of the rational and mindset that Lamar might not be the long term QB. Does he have the potential to correct his throwing mechanics ? Can we fix our OL and GRoman's questionable playcalling? How about Lamar's decisionmaking and view of the field; can he correct and improve ? How about more weapons at WR like some of the studs the Steelers; can we secure one of these one day ? I think the answer is yes to all and Lamar will be given the opportunity to correct and improve. In my humble opinion, after watching the NFL including for the past 50 years + (including the Johnny U and Bert Jones days), watching the current QBs - Burrow, etc,, and the next crop - including the Trevor Lawrence types, I have my doubts that Lamar has the pedigree to lead this team to victories in the playoffs and win a SB. I hope Im flat out wrong and Lamar gets it together - just cant see or envision it. We'll see where this all goes and hopefully im dead wrong. My two cents .....
  6. Ha Ha ! Glad its you getting killed; not me. Hey, I'm just a blasted fan who likes shooting from the hip and throwing out ideas. Some stick; many dont. Just hate seeing this talented bunch wrack up ca. 250 yards and shove it down the Steelers throats; only to lose by Lamar giving it away. Dont know how more mulligans we can give Lamar this year or next. Ah, probably need to jump over to the post mortem Lamar thread !
  7. I think its all between the ears for Lamar. Maybe Lamar gets a brain transfusion with Brady, Rodgers or Brees. LamarBrady ?
  8. Max, man you've always got a zinger. I love it man. You keep it light and right. btw- have you got something in your bag of tricks/graphics that shows Lamar having a brain transfer with Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers. Something out of Young Frankenstein ! I digress.....sorry
  9. I'm one of those who wasn't/isnt convinced that Lamar has the mindset or mental wherewithal to figure out professional Ds. We saw against the Chargers two years ago; repeated this year against KC and Pittsburgh. I'm concerned we are going to waste another talented D and offense while we excruciatingly wait for Lamar to figure out and read D's. I don't think there's some light bulb ready to suddenly go off this or any season. He and the team maxed out last year and whatever we've seen, we've seen the ceiling. He's a helluva athlete but right now isn't leading the team and not sure he can. Is it too late to get in the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes ? Maybe the Jets would gladly take Lamar in exchange for pick LOL

  11. Yep, damn good WR; too bad we got him on the back end of his career. Imagine he and the two Qs on the same team ?
  12. Its undoubtedly talent and coaching. We miss year after year, decade after decade. We just haven't figured it out. Other than the two Qs (Qadry and Anquan), what true No 1 have we ever had. Crazy ! Maybe we should pirate away one of the Steelers' scouts/coaches (LOL) It cant be any worse, right ?
  13. The Best D I ever saw !
  14. I can still see this team losing several games - 4 or 5 - and still making a run. Who really cares if we go 14-2 ? We obviously aren't and maybe we don t need to. What this team needs is to find its identity, its mojo on offense and defense - during the second half of the season. Who we beat now, while important in the final standings, isnt as important as how strong we finish in December. Playing complimentary football, establishing an O, Lamar rediscovering his true game and defense playing Raven football. Thats what I'm looking for; if it doesnt happen until last 4-5 games of season, so be it !
  15. Agreed. Offense hasn't quite discovered its mojo - yet, Last year's O was special and historic. That was last year. This O has to rediscover a new mojo for 2020. Fortunately, we have a bye week and 3/4 of the season to figure it out. Who knows, maybe GRO figures it out, we make some adjustment and team starts to peaks in December/January. Lets see where this all goes !
  16. How about a cornhole tournament between AFC and NFC ? Might be more exciting than Pro Bowl
  17. All kidding aside, here's hoping we come out a blazin' and treat this like a playoff game. Its an NFL opponent, desperate for a W and anything can happen. Formula : Defensively, pound the crap out of Wentz; offensively, we need to pound the rock. POUND THE DANG ROCK !!!! Are you listening Roman ?
  18. Something's going on with the knees and/or between the ears. Maybe its both. IDK but Lamar's not having much fun - like he's still hungover from the Titan playoff game.
  19. Great points Papa ! This O can be explosive - just need to utilize the SPEED !
  20. Worth a kick in the tire ?! We need WR help right ?
  21. We lost the game when we settled for the FG on the 1st drive. Yep, gotta pound the dang rock ! The real question now is how Harbs/ GRoman will respond.
  22. Papa, you seem to have the "inside scoop"; what do you think ? it probably goes back to Cavanaugh and Billick, too. I'm sure every team has this problem. Our OCs just seem to have a real penchant for abandoning the run game. As for the last game, 1st drive ; why on earth did we abandon the run as we are gouging KCs D. Game changer right there. We get a FG; KC then scores a TD. Game over !
  23. Stock Down: Greg Roman The collapse of the offense was eerily similar to the playoff loss to Tennessee. Completely abandoning the run game can not happen. I point to a sequence on the very first drive. As we all saw, the Ravens offense quickly and efficiently marched downfield into the red zone. First and ten on the 15-yard line, and a touch pass to a sweeping Devin Duvernay gains seven yards and sets Roman and the offense up with second and short. You would think a team that set all sorts of records in rushing would continue to do what got them in scoring position in the first place, but instead Roman calls two pass plays in a row. The results? A throw away to avoid a sack with no one open, and a completed pass short of the first down marker to bring Tucker onto the field. Six points right there would have been huge, and a touchdown on the first possession could have set the tone and allowed them to stick with their style of play, which Roman seemingly only does with a lead. Moving away from the run game is the biggest takeaway for me. Every time it happens, the Ravens lose. There’s a debate out there to be had if the Ravens are built to come from behind (so far they aren’t), but that’s not what this is. In seemingly every high stakes game, whether it be in the playoffs or against Kansas City, Roman seems to abandon the run. As I said previously, I would like to see Duvernay and Proche’s involvement in the offense increase. The Chiefs have at least three speedsters at receiver, and they excel at taking the top off the defense and allowing Mahomes to show off his arm while Travis Kelce and Clyde Edwards-Helaire work in the middle of the field and out of the backfield, respectively. Furthermore, Andy Reid and Eric Beinemy dove deep into the playbook with touchdowns to the fullback and an offensive lineman. John Harbaugh and Roman have the personnel to mimic some of this. Duvernay played on just seven offensive snaps, and Proche never saw the field on that side of the ball. These two offer elite speed, something the other pass catchers outside of Marquise Brown don’t have, and would add another wrinkle to an already lethal offense.
  24. On to KC ! Slobberknocker next Monday night at the empty bank. Outcome decided on last possession. Should be lots of fun : Mahomes vs Lamar !
  25. Prudent signings in my opinion. Good role players, added depth and team solidifiers. Like these moves. In terms of D, its time to address/fortify the pass rushing and LB positions. We do that, our D will be in good shape !
