The key to this game is jumping on the chiefs right out of the gates and taking the crowd out of it. If we do that, we will be ok. If, on the other hand, we play like the Browns or Philly game, we will be in for a dogfight and probably lose in a close one. Got to jump out on a lead and keep the foot and the pedal for 60 minutes.

Awesome winning season ! Fifteen years since weve had one and we obliterate that with 90 + wins. Its all gravy from here ! Go O's !
-
Joe needs no defense; just give him a consistent OL and trusting OC and he's just fine.
-
Yep . We don't want to go to Tampa with anything less than a 4 game lead, especially with Price and Shields on the mound. Need a statement series against Bosox and Chisox need to take 2 or 3 from Rays this weekend. Don't want any part of the Rays.

We are all just getting along here on this board.

Yep. I really wanted us to snatch up Richardson (for reasons you stated) who would have nicelty complimented Ray in our backfield. I guess I'm a bit greedy which segways into my next point. I still do not and cannot understand our pathetic inability to convert on short yard situations, esp with Leach and Ray. Its mind bogglling but the O better figure it out. Joe cannot throw 40 + passes (350+ yards) every dang game. He wont survive the season. I am sure Cam will figure it out though

Yager et al, All good points, 4 games/17 days, rain, tired, emotionally drained. Two observations about this seasons squad: 1. Our inabiliuty to pound the rock in short yard (3rd or 4th and 1) situations is apparent and will haunt this team, especailly in the latter part of the season. I dont if its the line (Birk), the scheme or backs, but it is hurting us in key situations and critical parts of the game. 2. The absense of Suggs is obvious. Our pass rush and secondary play is downright embarrasing. A rookie, Weeden, throws for 300 + yards, in our house. Case closed. Our secondary had a breather last night and it wont see a weaker offense the rest of the year. The bottiom line is we are 3-1. Time to rest, get healthy and prepare for KC.

Ugh - Flat performance tonight after NE win. Nearly beaten by a rookie qb and gave up 357 yds passing. Swiss cheese defense and poor execution by offense. Nothing good from this but a eked out victory and 10 days rest. File this bad boy away and start to regroup for KC - team has much to work on and prepare for against a team that is tough to beat in their house.

For once, The O is going to lead this team. The D is of course critical but has some flaws . Suggs return would certainly be huge . Anyone know when he might return ?
-
Amen to all. Call it divine intervention or whatever, but it was a thing of beauty . And we exorcized a huge demon last night ! Go Offense ! Go Ravens !

Max, for us to win, Joe must have another eye-popping game like opening night against Cincy. Brady and Gronk are going to put up fantasy type numbers; Joe will have to match him. Rice needs a big game, too, and Cam must call an excellent game. The 12th man will be huge !
-
Exactly. That's what Bosox players were saying about Francona last year after the pizza and beer parties in the clubhouse . Peas better be lighting fires under their arses !

With both teams PO'd (after tough losses), both should have a huge sense of urgency. Its a pivotal game: neither team can afford to go 1-2. Its a revenge game for us and an opportunity to make a statement in the AFC. Brady and Pats can ill afford to lay an egg and Coach Bellicheck is a master at preparing his troops. Harbaugh is likewise effective in gathering his troops after a loss. This game is a real toss up. With our current D, especially if Pollard is out, Brady will have a huge game. We can expect Brady to put up at least 300 yards and 30 points. Book it !. On that note, this game will boil down to our offense. Joe took a step backward and Rice was taken out of the game plan last Sunday. That cant happen on Sunday night. Both Flacco and Rice MUST have huge, fantasy type games in order for us to win. Joe may very well have to win it on another final drive ! Got to get her done !

Outside, Good points. Not surprising, we underperfomed in Philly after shooting our wad opening night against a division foe. So we get the bad game out of our sysem and begin addressing the problems in time for NE game: This team after at least two years of ineptitude at converting 3rd or 4th and short, has got to rediscover the running game. Passing on 3rd or 4th and 1 blows and needs to be corrected. We paid Rice big time to carry the rock. Let him carry the rock ! That will take the pressure off Joe and give the D a breather. Our secondary needs a thumper, especially since Ray and LB corps is such a liability in pass coverage. If Pollard is out for New England or for an extended time, opposing teams TEs will feast on our pass D. While Suggs is out, Peas is going to have to innovate and send the house a whole lot more. Otherwise, our secondary is going to get worked. Its early but this team has just got to finish to win games. Most of the other teams are in the same boat. Time to right the ship !

Crav , Welcome to the reality triangle ! Just kiddin. I just think we are going to have a tough game . A lot boils down to matchups and timing; neither of which are in our favor. We'll see !
-
Yep... McCoy >>>>>>>>>> Benjarvus Green Ellis !!! Not even on the same planet.
-
Yager, I hope you are right but after just 1 game I am not feeling it. Time will tell eh ?
-
I am probably the lone ranger but I dont like this game at all.... for these reasons: We just shot our wad against a divisdion rival ~ 44 points, tough act to follow Philly laid an egg in Cleveland and was damn luck to escape with a win and they know it. Philly has an extremely talented, potentially explosive offense that has yet to wake up. It will wake up Sunday. Philly has athletic LBs and good corners which will create tough matchups for Joe and company. Its Philly's home opener. I hope I am wrong but see another flat performance simialr to Tennessee, Jax and Seattle games last year.
-
This team has got a bunch of grinders who find a way to win. You have fulfilled my expectations and then some with a non-losing season . Everything from here on is gravy. Go Os !
-
Nice win and sound perfromance from Joe and the offense. Lets not get too far ahead of ourselves here. Time to get ready for Philly !
-
Yeager, Should ba a good one tonight. I expect both QBs to have good games. I wouldnt read too much into Pitts' D performance last night. They were without Harrison and Clark; tough to overcame against Peyton and a raucous crowd at Denver. Just sayin....
-
We still need a VIABLE QB backup. Tyrod or Dixon wont get it done (and neither would Painter) if and when Joe goes down. Its really quite amazing why our FO chooses not to have a really good insurance plan for its most important player. Not tempting fate here just sayin......
-
We just found the holy grail ! Good googly moogly
-
Is it just me or is this team afraid to convert a 3rd and 1 via the run. Also, is scoring a TD in the red zone in preseason akin to capturing the holy grail. Wow !
-
Wildcat ? Thats ultra frightening with Tyrod - who is a poor mans Michael Vick (at 32). :scared: I hope Ozzie scans the waiver wire for a more legit backup than Taylor and Painter.
