With our offense, defense and sporadic pitching its a miracle we are 44-37. If this team wants to stay "in the hunt" Markakis needs to contribute upon his return or the FO better pick up a big stick. I hear the Phillies' Victarino is available. We need to fortify the SP void left by Matusz and hope Hammel, Chen, Ariietta and Hunter/Tillman can hold down the fort. This team is enigmatic for sure but is surely exceeding my expectations. .

Thome ? Cool. Who are we signing next ; Harold Baines or Eddie Murray ?
-
Cleveland got healthy and our pitching staff made Johnny Damon look like Ted Williams last night . C mon man !!!

When is the O going to wake up? It's down right embarrassing. If the FO is serious about getting a hitter, it's about a month overdue.

Maybe the Ravens will turn into a wr factory now

More tools in Bazooka Joe's toolbox . Gotta love it ! -
Max, I'm inclined to believe its double talk. I think the biggest moves will be Jamie Moyer being released and Miguel Tejada getting called up. Well, we can check off 1 as Moyer was granted his release.

First Kansas City at home, then we get Toronto (fresh off a 5 game skid). Now Team gets shut out by a starter with a 5 run ERA ? Buck needs to stop the bleeding....quick 1

Well being that the game is just before x-mas

Yep, and put the heat on Eli with or w-o Suggs ! -
Max and Crav, This is going to be a fun season - in spite of the setbacks (Suggs ) ! Can't wait for summer and watching these rookies in action .

What's this, Max drinking the purple kool-aid, but not Crav ?

Anyone know if Bart Scott is available ? Just saying.....

Reddog- no one is complaining; just stating the obvious. All we heard was how we had to get Hightower as our future LB and Konz for C. We didnt and case closed. Our draft turned out ok and.none of us knows how these guys will pan out. Only time will tell.
-
I give us a C. We whiffed on Hightower- would have liked to have seen us trade up with Detroit and snag him in 1st ahead of NE, then grab Konz in Round 2. We get Upshaw and Gradkowski instead. Concerned about Birk - his effectiveness and durability - and our lack of immediate help at C. Only time will tell but I would have rather had Hightower and Konz. The RB (Pierce) looks OK but he isnt Ray Rice. The rest of the draft seems allright. Ozzie needs to grab a few free agents later in Spring/Summer to help fortify the OL.

Max, Bingo. This could be a blessing in disguise. We need a hammer - someone who could actually get the first down on those many unsuccessful 3rd or 4th and 1's. That was a big deal last year that needs to be addressed this year. Maybe there's a Jamal L type (2012 version)

Definitely a head scratcher. The guy goes from Super Bowl coach to Cam's assistant. And he's nowhere in the Harbaugh coaching tree/family. Very perplexing hire, exp since he interviewed with and left Pittsburgh before signing here. Maybe he can teach Lee Evans, Dickson how to hold on to the rock; show our WRS how to get S E P A R A T I O N.. I dunno

Uh oh. Do you think Preston is all over this ? As an aside, there appear to be having a meltdown in Indy, eh ? With Irsay at the helm, I m not surprised. I wonder if Pagano isnt walking into a hornets nest ? Just saying.
-
I wouldnt object to promoting within and hiring Peas. As options, I wonder if Steve Spagnuolo is still out there. Also, what about Jack Del Rio - a second tour of duty here ? Harbs knows Spags from Philly days and Del Rio would be intriguing. Just saying...

Pagano Interviewing with Colts; Update Hired
varaven45 replied to ForceEight's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Crav, Hopefully, Pagano's just "testing the waters" and just scored a free dinner from Irsay.- although I cant imagine why (I hear Irsay is a real nutjob). Selfishly, I would hate to see Pagano leave, esp to Indy. -
Crav, Why dont you think Hue would have total control as an OC if in fact that is what he was hired for ?
-
I ve heard numerous times that near the end of the game the Pats secondary was confused like its was a Chinese fire drill. How we weren't able to score a TD against that sorry secondary was as shocking as Cundiffs shanked FG. The Pats proved that it is sometimes better to be lucky than good.

Max and all, Helluva season. And to think I had us going 10-6 at best this year. Hopefully, Ozzie and Co stategize and figure out the right tweaks to get us to host the AFCCG. We win that game today if its at Bmore. This team has a great FO, Coach and strong nucleus of players. Just need to take it to the next level. Great season indeed !

Chris Mortensen reporting Cameron will not be back
varaven45 replied to Dunno's topic in Baltimore Ravens
We all saw it coming. A new OC wont guarantee catches (like Evans) but will hopefully change the offensive culture, including the dropsies and WR lack of separation. Whether its Hue Jackson or whomever, we need to take 1 more step on the offensive side next season. The right OC would do that I believe. If nothing else, he needs to have a good, positive relationship with Joe - something that was obvioiusly missing ther past years. -
Ditto on all the above. Aside from Cam's presence, our receivers' inability to get separation is the biggest cause for Joe's passing woes. I watched the Texans game again last night. He was under duress almost al game. Our OL turned JJ Watts into one of the fearsome foursome. Look, JJ Watts is a very good player, high motor but CMON Man ! As Jaws said, our WR all made great catches. Why ? Because he had to.....nobody gets open, cant shake free. If nothing else, that game reaffirmed once again why this organization/team needs a new, fresh look on offense. Unless someone - Cam, Joe or even Ray Lewis - lights a fire under our WR arses - we wont all of a sudden see a change on Sunday. The change will come after Sunday.
