Baltimore Ravens May Be in on TE Jimmy Graham
varaven45 replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
We and 31 other teams “may” be in on him. Don’t see him in Bmore. Like most on here, would rather go young. -
Well, Max, if nothing else your getting us closer to bottoming out. After this post, you might even be 1 up on Papa

Yep. Sometimes the truth hurts. -
Three questions for Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti

1. How would you account for the general, gradual decline of our drafts over the past 5 years ? And what are going to do about it ? 2. How do you intend to address the loss of the team's swagger and absence of a single playmaker (offense or defense) over this same period ? 3. About 5 years ago you said you were building this team to not just make the playoffs but win multiple SBs. Do you remember that ? Given the team's mediocre play and absence from the playoffs, what happened and why did you abandon the winning mantra. Most importantly, how do you plan on restoring the winning, smashmouth style of football that we enjoyed the first 10-15 years of this team's existence ? Maybe a bit verbose but these are legit questions, no ? -
Didn't he get charged with stealing a moon pie or something ? Oh, wait, a $15 charger ? Are you kidding me ?

Which Ravens player was the most disappointing in 2017

We are all just getting along here, eh ? Lots of frustration over the team's misfortunes and lack of success last several years. I guess we are all experiencing what teams like the Bucs, Jets, Browns, have felt for many years. It stinks. But, hey, as they say, winning cures all and this organization and leadership just need to get it together again. They'll do it and turn this dang ship around. Maybe it'll take a few years but they'll get er done ! -
NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah mocks OT Orlando Brown to Ravens

If the above is our draft, I'm going to get sick. That draft will keep us in purgatory for another year or two. Thankfully, it's just yet another opinion. -
Need consecutive years of solid draft picks - including QB this year - to climb above mediocrity where we are firmly entrenched.
-
He should; his is chump change while his wife's net worth is $380 M.
-
Yep, not doubt. But here's the thing, when's the last time our O had any weapons - 2012/3 ?
-
Well, folks, with Marty at the OC helm, buckle up your chinstraps for .500 ball for the foreseeable. Max, you probably have the movie image, but the Titanic and chair reshuffling pic fits right here.

Probably - if the past and current wisdom is any indication. Sadly and like many businesses, it will probably take a disastrous season or campaign - getting leapfrogged by the Browns or Bengals - before the FO wakes up and smells the java. That or the Biscuit bails and we relive the 1983 fiasco. The sooner we clean this up and restore a culture of winning - instead of 8-8 campaigns and near playoff misses - the better for all. My two cents......
-
Which is why they should draft a QB in the spring which dovetails well with the next HC and subsequent system. The sooner the better - all the way around.

Snooze

Aptly put....but will it lead to change ?

At least the Front Office has one thing going for it next year

yep, there's some silver lining. Decent cadre of RBs; really like Collins esp if he can enhance his receiving skills. Still would like a hammer - i.e. Gurley, Fournette type - back there. Ya know; someone who can carry the rock and kill the clock when nursing a 3-4 point lead late in the 4th quarter. Ring a bell ? -
Max, you nailed it. This team and standards by which it operates are no longer part of a winning culture or feeling. It left with Ray, Reed et al. It was confirmed for me last week when we squeaked by a sorry (and I'm being generous) Indy team at home. Instead of being dissatisfied and calling out our guys, Harbs and Co are rejoicing over a huge W over a hapless team and backup QB who nearly beat us in our house. And then we're worried about a 4:25 starting time and us vs the world mentality; really ? And this team everybody was worried about playing in the playoffs? Your kidding me. This team has been steeped in mediocrity since the SB win and the sooner we bottom out and clean house the better. The good news is that we play in the Mediocre Football League and one can become truly relevant in a couple of years, depending on the FO, coaching and talent. I'm ready for the long haul - ditch the old guys, China dolls and overpaid underperformers - and okay with sucking it up for a couple of seasons so long as we bring in the right leadership and talent. We done it at least twice - 2 SBs- we can do it again. The sooner we turn the page in this old, tiresome book the better.

This team punctuated another mediocre season with a sorry performance yesterday. Embarrassing performance from a "scary" team nobody wanted to see in the playoffs. Well, nobody's going to see this team in the playoffs. We should have seen this coming after last Saturday's sorry performance against a horrendous Colts team that should have beaten us. Well, in spite of it all, they still exceeded my expectations of an 8-8 record which only occurred because of playing sorry teams with backup QBs. At least they'll get a decent draft pick and for Gods sake Ozzie please draft an offensive playmaker - Calvin Ridley or someone who has WR skills - and put an NFL offensive roster together. It'll take a couple of years to fix this mess; at least let's get this thing started this season.

Max, You read my mind - Collins and Allen need to have substantial yards in order for us to win Sunday. Here's trusting that's already in our game plan and will be executed. I hope you shake off that bug !
