Agreed. Whatever happened to our running game and OL?
-
Are Ed Reed or Ray available to coach the D?
-
I still stand behind the above winning formula. At least 2 of the above three boxes have to checked in order to win.
-
Well Max, that's been the trend so far. Don't expect tomorrow to be any different.
-
Well, regarding Fox article, that's easy, we need to figure out how to keep Buck and replace Duq w/ someone who can retain or sign guys to help us win. Buck has been managing his butt off while we have this turnstile of players coming in and out of the program. Last year's debacle of losing Markakis and Cruz was unacceptable to even the most casual fan or observer .

Well, if nothing else, last night the Giants showed how an 0-2 team (which easily could have been 2-0) takes care of business by doing all the necessary things to win the game. No, we aren't the Giants and we are not playing the Skins. However, the same winning formula applies - control the LOS, play to your strengths and limit/eliminate mistakes. Lets see how the Ravens respond Sunday !

And with Pope just arriving, maybe throw in a special novena while we are at it

I don't know which team is showing up Sundays vs. Bengals; the one that's underachieved the first two games of the season or one that comes out with a purpose and sense of urgency. If the latter shows up Sunday; these three must happen in order to win: 1. The offense has to immediately pound the rock and consistently throughout the game. The OL has to make a statement and own the LOS; Forsett, Taliefero, and Allen have to run with authority and collectively gain at least 150 yards. This will set the tone for the game, take some pressure off Joe and our evolving WR corps, and preserve our D. 2. The defense need to make a huge statement right out of the gates. The pass rush must overwhelm and suffocate Andy Dalton the entire game and work in tandem with the secondary. The D must have multiple Dalton sacks and create at least 2-3 turnovers. The DL must control the LOS and neutralize the running game, and the secondary cant give up the long play to Green, Sanu or Eifert. 3. Harbaugh has to have these guys ready, jacked up to play relentless, focused and fast ball for 60 minutes. This team will either set the tone, control the dictate m If all three happen, we have a shot of winning and going 1-2. If not, we are 0-3 and 2016 draft talk will begin in earnest.

Since Joe historically lays an egg vs the Bumgles - Leon Hall is a big nemesis along with pac man.- we have to run the damn ball down their throats and pass in key spots. If Joe slings it all around and we abandon the run, game over. And our D has to suffocate A Dalton all game. .

While we are at the CB scrap heap, is it worth kicking the tires on David Amerson- former 2nd rounder released by Skins. If we are after depth. Can't be any worse than what we have now, especially after making Derek Carr look like the second coming.

Exactly, it's almost time to start thinking of a contingency plan for this guy , at least for the season . This perennial empty cupboard of viable WRs really hamstrings this team and offense. I mean I'm watching this horrible New York jet Offense last night and at least they had the presence of mind to pick up a Brandon Marshall or at least some legitimate receiver off the market. Where's the veteran receiver who could have shown the young guys the ropes ? Was the AnlQuan Bolden experiment so bad that it will not be repeated again? Are we back to the Pre- Q days when the FO finally figured Joe needs toys around him? Last I checked, when Joe has legit toys he's pretty damn good.

Agreed. We will know much about the team after Oct 1 tilt vs Stealers. We will be sinking or swimming; but not treading water.
-
We are hanging precariously close to becoming irrelevant this season. If we go down Sunday, as most are predicting, we'll be 0-4 after Stealers game. Then the odds against us become astronomical. This team just needs to get out of this funk or whatever you call it and play balls to the walls on Sunday. Nuff said !!!!
-
Desperate times call for desperate measures, eh?
-
I missed the pick (need to watch reply) but its a dang shame a game changing call is blown like that. While it shouldn't have come down to it, its the difference between us being 1-1 and 0-2. It will look a whole larger later in the season.

Some disappointing, disturbing trends here guys. What surprised me yesterday the most was the absence of any pass rush. Tony Romo, who is Dallas' prized possession, gets clobbered.in Philly and they break the guys' collarbone. Meanwhile, we cant touch this Carr kid most of the game and make him look like second coming. I don't get it !
-
Exactly. This is starting to feel like the Billick-Boller era, eh ?
-
The Raiders played like I thought they would after getting blown out. We played like either like we were hungover from Denver or looking ahead to Cincy. Either way, we aren't a good team right now and Cincy ought to take us behind the woodshed next weekend and then the Stealers after that. I wonder what Peter King is thinking about his Super Bowl pick now .
-
Rough start to the season folks ! I thought the game would at least be close.
-
I thought the same thing but didn't say for fear of being extricated from this site. Such remarks are often judged as "Debby Downer" esque

I don't typically dwell on past games and hate to belabor the point but, man, was Joe Flacco's pick-6 (to Aqib Talib) in the second half a huge game changer or what ? I reviewed the game last night (which was painful to watch at times). At any rate, after Jimmy Smith's pick-6, our D completely took over the game and the momentum was clearly on our side. We were completely in control in the 3rd Q, even the offense was moving the ball (including a few Buck Allen runs). Then BANG ! Joe's pick changed everything - the momentum, Denver D's swagger, crowd noise, and most importantly the score. In my mind, that one singular play is the difference between our being 0-1 and 1-0.
-
Oops; wrong team ! Well, at least the Bosox O woke up. Meanwhile, we make Boston's +5.0 ERA look like Bob Gibson. Geeeeeeeezzzz!
-
The offense should be resurrected tonight as the Botox and Os starting pitchers own 5+ ERA. Could be a football score with a couple of touchdowns and extra points to boot .
