If lamar doesn't pan out then they have a very real option as a replacement. If lamar is the man then they have trade bait to help the team long term.

Yes there are outliers. Guys like ray rice were the horses that got guys like Flacco over the top game after game. Who got paid though. The backs are telling the union to start working for them.

They are fighting for more money for their position. Why should guys like what's his face in Detroit playing qb get so much and do so little?

So a 5th or 6th rounder making almost nothing with a 3 yr deal should maximize their money. If you look at most rbs who produce the most they are late rounders. I think if you produce you should be paid. But a player who doesn't should not.

They as a group should fight for their position to get paid. They should want a baseline insentive contract so they can make they money in those early seasons while they are productive. Why should losers get paid to not produce. Their careers are so short.

Rbs average career length is a little over 2 yrs. Also now rbs are being seen as a dime a dozen position. So many even good ones don't really get that 2nd deal which is supposed to be forever money. Also so many of the really good ones are late rounders so they play those cheap years and don't get that deal.

He routinly doesn't have his team prepared in the exact same way.

The prob is QBs eat to much cap space. The RBs need to stand as a position to the NFLPA and say we need you to rep us also. There are more backs than QBs so you have more representation. Also as a position you can say we will leave the PA which will hurt them dramatically.
