  1. Oblivious works for you.

Run to the league with that signed deal. I would expect at least $8 mil a yr if he reaches the market.

Yeah 100% agree to sign him now if we can get him for ~$5 Million. I'm not worried about him having a monster year though, I think the ball is going to be spread around quite a lot this year.

  2. I wanted to let Rice go as well but knew that wasn't going to happen. The real lesson should have been no long-term contract for a RB. I'm actually very happy Prisco did this, I don't think Rice is DONE quite yet, so this will be another thing that can light a fire under the guy.

  3. I am not talking about last yr. That was what it was. I am talking about the totality of his career.

Joe certainly had a poor year last year, but I think he has flashed the ability to throw WR's open in his career. Asking a QB to throw WR's open WITHOUT time in the pocket is quite the task... He flat out hasn't and will likely never earn his contract, but he is an above-average QB. I'm excited to see what he can do with a Coordinator that can better utilize his natural gifts.

  4.

I wonder if the IR him come the end of camp. Look for a way to sneak him into 2015 with a yr of exp.

That's a fantastic pick up, feel a lot better about not drafting someone already. Still hoping they bring in Winston on a 1 Year deal.

  5. They didn't need Heap when they grabbed him.

You can start 2 Tight Ends though, you can't start 3 ILB's. The good news is all these guys can cover, so perhaps we're going to be seeing some more LB-heavy formations next year?

For the record I'm not hating on the pick, just hoping we have something in store for RT and Safety. We're going to have to get LUCKY to get 2 starters with 2nd and 3rd round picks at those positions.

  6. Sunday nighter at Pitt, nfl fucks us again

You do realize that not only do we have the 5th easiest schedule by record... but Pittsburgh comes to Baltimore for a Thursday nighter Week 2. Which means they get one less day of rest on a short week... We also have a bye before our MNF game in New Orleans.

Overall, INCREDIBLY favorable schedule. Primed for a bounce back year.

Will everyone just save this link already. Nobody has a clue what they're talking about with this contract.

Yes, it is reasonable now, but it isn't a "3 Year Deal". If we cut him after Year 3 we get a 25,850,000 cap hit. We also owe him 28,550,000 in Year 4 of the deal, 31 in year 5 and 25 in year 6. We HAVE to renogotiate, but even if we do that, we are just pushing the cap hits further on. Eventually, this is going to come back to bite us a few years down the road.

  8. Toby is going to be good, but Jacksonville needs to fix its offensive line before it worries about RB. Neither of our backs is done yet, just a poor year on the line and some nagging injuries. I know he's basically a Rice duplicate, but if MJD is available in this price range I'd jump.
