PANTHERS REVOKE PSLS OF THOSE WHO DIDN’T BUY PLAYOFF TICKETS Posted by Josh Alper on January 27, 2009, 10:09 a.m. Many Carolina Panthers season ticket holders received letters in the mail from the team recently. It wasn’t a thank you note and a promise to have great success in 2009, but a note informing them that their personal seat licenses were being revoked because of a failure to purchase playoff tickets. The owners of the PSLs have been given the opportunity to pay a reinstatement fee, $228 in one case according to the Charlotte Observer. If they don’t pay by Friday, though, they can wave goodbye to their tickets and to the money they spent to buy the PSLs in the first place. The Panthers are acting within their rights because the agreement with PSL buyers requires them to purchase playoff tickets. Those who didn’t pony up knew there were consequences. That said, it’s a requirement which seems to fall outside the bounds of the PSL arrangement. Teams justify asking people to buy PSLs by marketing them as assets which can make you money over the long run. The only thing they can actually sell as part of the come-on is the right to buy preseason and regular season games because those are the only things they’re actually able to guarantee. Playoff tickets are a bonus, one that most PSL owners will only be too happy to buy, but a bonus shouldn’t be a requirement. PSL owners should have a right of first refusal on playoff tickets with the team getting the right to sell them to the general public if the owner passes.

RAVENS’ JACKSON GETS SECOND INTERVIEW WITH 49ERS Posted by Aaron Wilson on January 27, 2009, 4:58 p.m. Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson is interviewing today for the San Francisco 49ers’ offensive coordinator job, meeting with coach Mike Singletary for the second time in the past five days, according to the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat. Press-Democrat beat writer Matt Maiocco writes that Jackson has become the frontrunner to become the 49ers’ replacement for Mike Martz, noting that the only other time a candidate interviewed twice a job offer was presented. However, former St. Louis Rams coach Scott Linehan decided to turn down the 49ers’ offer and is now the Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator. Jackson, who coached successful Ravens rookie quarterback Joe Flacco this past season, has prior offensive coordinator experience with the Atlanta Falcons and Washington Redskins. He has worked in the Bay Area before at Cal-Berkeley and played college football at the University of Pacific in nearby Stockton, Calif. Meanwhile, the 49ers are also interviewing former Ravens receivers coach and Falcons quarterbacks coach Mike Johnson for the quarterbacks coach vacancy.

FLACCO EXPECTED TO WIN AWARD Posted by Aaron Wilson on January 27, 2009, 8:57 p.m. After receiving zero votes for the Associated Press’ NFL Rookie of the Year award, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is expected to be named the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year, Scout.com’s Adam Caplan reports. Citing a league source, Caplan said that Flacco is expected to beat out Atlanta Falcons quarteback Matt Ryan, who won the AP rookie prize, Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson, Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte and Houston Texans running back Steve Slaton. The award will be announced at a press conference at the Super Bowl in Tampa, Fla., this Thursday. Flacco became the first rookie quarterback to win two playoff games, not committing a turnover or a sack in victories over the Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans before throwing three interceptions in the AFC title game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Crav, I don't think NFL players concern themselves much with pension. Oh Yes they do..My Unk kicked 10 years for the Colts, there was only 1 reason he did it, that 4000 a month guaranteed check ;) -
Clayton dosent have field smarts..Yes hes great on the bomb..How many passes were just missed because of our short recievers.

Not to mention the fact that no one knows if he's even interested in playing there. Well heres a fact, you have to play in the NFL 10 years to qualify for a pension, its Mac's best interest to switch to Safety..Why would you want to risk your future because you want to play CB and throw away your pension? -

McAlister isn't playing safety anytime soon. Yagaddebeshiddingme, why not? Once the knees go, in this league your days are numbered. Move him to Safety he'll be better than Rad Woodson. -
Hey Billy, an answer to your earlier question, Lets just keep it at Your Board, if we could change drivers then yeah we would have two boards...
