  1. I too predicted a 4-12 season and have been very pleased with the Ravens this year. Not just their record, but their overall play. The fact that Boller and Smith were unable to start the season could have set the team up for disaster but what it looks like it has done is to hurry Flacco's progression along. He had been good so far, think of how he could be in another year.

What are the odds of a 9-7 team making the playoffs in the AFC? I think the Ravens can easily be 9-7. If they and the Steelers play the same way they did their first match up then I think the Ravens win at home.

So, and I am surprising myself, I am cautiously optimistic about making the playoffs. I dont think they will go far, but even if they make it they can gain experience for young players and coaches alike.

  2. Ive been pricing healthcare, its going to run me 600+ a month for coverage that we need. So maybe thats why Im in favor of a national healthcare.

Which I too think is not reasonable or affordable for most people. Despite knowing a handful of Canadians and a handful of people from the UK who have no problems with their health care, I was still never in favor of socialized medicine. But the health care costs that I (and my small company) are paying are huge and rising every year so at this point I am willing to listen.

  3. Crav, here's what your boy MM wants.

Leftwing filmmaker Michael Moore suggested that the financial difficulties of the Big Three US automakers be ended by government expropriation of the firms.

“Investors in these companies have already lost 90 percent of the money they put in,” Moore asserted. “Government expropriation would be a ‘mercy killing.’”

In addition to relieving investors of their last 10 percent of value, Moore contended that government ownership and operation would “help unify the nation’s highway transportation system, since government already owns the roads. We could put an end to traffic congestion like they have in Cuba.”

Moore also argued that “government could ensure that drivers get the cars that they need rather than the cars the advertisers tell them they should want.”

  4. LO, yes my post made little sense. There was a thread about Zack and Miri a few weeks ago and there was a really drunk Steeler fan in it played by Tyler Labine. I posted that he ruled.

  5. I meant to answer this a week or so ago. Tyler Labine, the drunk Steeler fan, has not been in anything great but has been the best thing in a number of shows he has been in. I thought he was the best part of "Invasion" from a couple of years ago, and he is in "Reaper" right now and close to the best thing in it, the 4th I guess. Ray Wise is the best by far, then second and third place go to Missy Peregrym, then 4th best is Labine.

Speaking of good things in not so great shows, Kyle Bornheimer is fantastic in the very average but watchable "Worst Week". He reminds me of John Ritter during the good years of Threes Company.

And "Chuck" is on of the silliest but enjoyable hours on TV.

  6. It's true! An Arrested Development movie will happen.

Reliable inside sources confirm to me that producers Mitch Hurwitz and Ron Howard have signed deals to do an Arrested movie with Imagine and Fox Searchlight.

Sources tell me exclusively that the major motion picture is budgeted at $15 million. (Translation: It will be awesome.)

"Yes, it's a go," an Arrested castmember who asked not to be named tells me. "We're all very excited. And it will happen with or without the holdout."
