Sorry Einstein. Flacco may have operated out of a spread offense at Deleware but it was in no way shape or form the West Coast Offense. The 4 and 5 step QB drop should have been the big give away............... genius.
Unless you know something that I don't know ( and that'll never happen. ) It certainly wasn't the West Coast Offense................................................................................................................ Einstein.
Still have them at 7 - 9. The reasoning - early failure of the offense to adapt to Kubiak's system and Joe Flacco's season long inability to master the West Coast Offense.
Stop dreamin'. Tucker will go the way of Authur Jones, Kruger, Ellerbe, and Cory Redding - the way to the biggest bidder for his services. Not a crime though, Ozzie's got a thing about finding good kickers.
Of course they didn't run the WCO. Joe Flacco lacked the skills to run a WCO. Management knew it, the coaching staff knew it, and opposing defences knew it. The only people who were convinced that Joe Flacco could run a WCO was Zorn and Flacco. Meanwhile, Joe lacked a quick release and could not read a safety blitz - a required skill set for any successful WCO QB.
Doesn't change a thing. Kubiak is undeniably a West Coast Offense coach. Joe Flacco is a vertical deep downdield pocket passer. Do the math. It does't add up.
Kubiak is a West Coast Offense coach. No if, ands, or butts about it. Joe Flacco is a deep downfield pocket passer. No if, ands, or buts about it. Do the math.
" Failure of current personnel to adapt to Kubiak's West Coast Offense ( read Joe Flacco ). " If you've been watching Joe Flacco these last 6 years or so, you should realize by now that his skill set is not conducive to running anything but a downfield offense. A West Coast Offense generally requires fast recognition of hot reads and a short quick release - not strong points of Joe Flacco.
I got 7 - 9. The reasoning: ( A ) Failure of the coaching staff to get on the same page ( read Juan Castillo ). ( B. ) Failure of HC to see the coaching staff is not on the same page ( read John Harbaugh ). Failure of current personnel to adapt to Kubiak's West Coast Offense ( read Joe Flacco ). Defense will once again have to pull this team along, but this coming season that may not be enough due to loss of key personnel and inexperience at key positions.
Been waiting on this guy. He was the steal of last year's draft. Having him healthy this year makes me wonder why this draft focused on DT's instead of much needed CB's.
It's an insanely stupid strategy that will have Gettleman eventually giving up too much for available Tackles on the market. Whoever wrote this piece is as retarded as Gettleman.
