Kyle Hamilton has made all of the necessary adjustments to becoming a solid NFL player for the Ravens.

He was recently rated as the highest rookie safety in the NFL with a 77.5 grade, according to to Pro Football Focus.

"As the 14th overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, Hamilton hasn’t been a Ravens starter, but he has played 20-plus snaps in five of eight games, improving as the season has gone on," PFF's Gordon McGuinness wrote. "After missing two tackles in the season opener against the New York Jets, he has missed just one over the next seven games. He's shown plenty of versatility, as impressed in slot coverage against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, allowing just two receptions from 31 snaps in coverage."Ravens Kyle Hamilton Rated As Top Rookie Safety - Sports Illustrated Baltimore Ravens News, Analysis and More

  2. Yea. We caught a break there. The D has to win the day..

Ravens projected offensive skill positions at Saints:

    QB: Lamar Jackson
    RB: Kenyan Drake/Justice Hill
    WR: Devin Duvernay
    WR: James Proche/Tylan Wallace/DeSean Jackson
    TE: Isaiah Likely

The first-place Ravens are extremely banged up heading into Monday's game at the Saints.

But, after Monday night, Baltimore (5-3) doesn't play again until Nov. 20 vs. Panthers. That will be an important break for Ravens to get healthy.

  3. The hits just keep on coming...

    Jamison Hensley •
Ravens WR Demarcus Robinson (groin) was added to Friday's injury report and was limited.

That means the only Baltimore WRs on the active roster and not on the injury report are: Devin Duvernay, Tylan Wallace and James Proche.

DeSean Jackson and Andy Isabella are on PS.

  4. How many teams got burned by having Stone on their roster. It was a long time coming for the light bulb to go off. What's he like??? 32?

No thanks. I've lived the QB carousel. I saw A lot of great Ravens teams wasted because of poor QB execution.

What did we get with Vinny, Harbaugh, Mitchell,  Banks, Case, Boller, Grbac, Redman,  Wright, Blake, McNair?

We had some wins because of the great defense. A few exciting games. A lot of disappointing ones where you were left wondering, "If only "

  5. We have this going for us: "Stat to know: Jackson will play against the Saints for the first time this Sunday. **Lamar is 25-2 in his first starts against teams in his career. That is the best record since 1950 among QBs to start against at least 20 different teams, according to Elias Sports Bureau**."  Jamison Hensley🥸

  6. If Andrews and Gus are really banged up then rest them. They'll have 23 days to get healthy for the stretch run.

For second straight day, TE Mark Andrews (shoulder, knee) and RB Gus Edwards (hamstring) did not practice. CB Marcus Peters was absent Friday, but it's likely a rest day. OT Ronnie Stanley returned after missing Thursday .Ravens play at New Orleans on Monday night.
Ravens TE Mark Andrews has never missed a game due to injury in his 5-year career. But he would get an extended break (24 days in between games) if he doesn't play Monday because of the bye after this game. Ravens would get a healthier Andrews heading into second half of season
If Gus Edwards (hamstring) doesn't play, the Ravens would rely on Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill vs. the Saints. Drake leads Baltimore running backs with 251 yards rushing this year, and Hill tops all Ravens RBs with a 6.4-yard per carry average.

It's going to be real interesting to see what this roster looks like for week 11.

"He's just floating, and it looks so smooth," Lamar said. "Any time I just throw him the ball, it just falls into his hands. He's still the same DeSean to me – from what I grew up seeing. We're just going to have to see when he gets on that field."

"I would characterize J.K.'s surgery as a smashing success as far as you can tell right now," Harbaugh said. "He has no additional scar tissue since he has come out of there. That was a key thing in the first couple days, does scar tissue start to accumulate; it did not. They got almost all of it out, and it was significant.

"[Dr.] Leigh Ann Curl did the surgery and she told me when she went in there, the MRI didn't tell the whole story. The MRI didn't see all the scar tissue that was in there, so what he was dealing with was very significant. For him to get that freed up, I can't wait until he's out here running around in three or four weeks."DeSean Jackson Says He’s Ready, Likely to Play vs. Saints on Monday Night Football (baltimoreravens.com)

    It's Saints Week.

    Team Stats
                                                 Ravens    Saints
    Points Per Game                        26.0    24.9
Points Allowed Per Game        22.9     25.0

    Yards Passing                           204.4    265.1
    Yards Rushing                           165.6    141.3
    Yards Allowed                           383.1    338.3
    Pass Yards Allowed                  285.6    225.8
    Rush Yards Allowed                    97.5    112.5

I'm not taking the Saints lightly. Stats are almost even.
At times Dalton has looked like a Raven killer. He's had some of his best games vs the Ravens and even knocked us out of a playoffs  in 2017. Dalton has gone 8-8 over his career against the Ravens, throwing for 21 touchdowns with eight interceptions. Remember, many of those Bengals teams were weak.
Since taking over for Jameis Winston back in Week 4, over his five games, Dalton has thrown nine touchdowns to four interceptions while passing for 1,175 yards.

Game Release: Ravens at Saints by Baltimore Ravens - Issuu

On the road. Monday night vs another team fighting for their playoff life.

However..... it needs mentioning, that the Ravens enjoy playing in stadiums where they win Super Bowls.:gorave:

It's also helpful that Lamar has thrown 12 TD's  vs 0 INT's on MNF.

  9. He could be the solidifying piece.
    2 time All Pro. 83 tackles. 2 1/2 sacks. 2 INT's. 3 pass deflections

Suddenly the Ravens have a ton of outside LB's and pass rushers available around week 11. They have the secondary. Now....they have the inside LB's. Tight up the middle like 2000 and 2012.

unknown.png I'm excited. These are the kind of deals you do when you think you can make a legit SB run.

  10. Well....... Something is going right.....

With the Bengals' loss to Browns, the Ravens (5-3) currently don't face a team with a winning record in their final 9 games:

    @ Saints (3-5)
    vs. Panthers (2-6)
    @ Jaguars (2-6)
    vs. Broncos (3-5)
    @ Steelers (2-6)
    @ Browns (3-5)
    vs. Falcons (4-4)
    vs. Steelers (2-6)
    @ Bengals (4-4)

Ravens' chances of winning the AFC North increased from 65.1% to 84% after Bengals' 32-13 loss to the Browns, per ESPN's Football Power Index.

Baltimore's chances of reaching the playoffs are at 94.7%. Only the Bills (99.9%) and Chiefs (99.8%) have higher projections in the AFC.

  11. Pete Prisco ... Wrong! :. "This is a game where Tom Brady and the Bucs get it going. Look for some deep shots for big plays as the Bucs get the best of the Ravens
    Pick: Bucs 27, Ravens 19"

The experts can't see that Brady is deep into the twilight of his career.

Next Gen stat of the game: Devin Duvernay reached a top speed of 20.19 mph on his 15-yard TD run, the third time Duvernay has reached 20-plus mph as a ball carrier this season. Only Tyreek Hill (four) has reached 20-plus mph more times this season.

NFL Research: Isaiah Likely's 77 receiving yards against Tampa Bay were the most by a rookie tight end in a prime-time game since his teammate Mark Andrews in Week 16, 2018 (had 83 receiving yards vs Chargers)....2022 NFL season, Week 8: What We Learned from Ravens' win over Buccaneers on Thursday night

Multiple Ravens confirmed Harbaugh's account that it was the offensive game plan to throw a lot early, try to spread the Bucs out, see if they can pop some plays against a banged up secondary and then tire them out. So they can take the game over in second half with run game.

The 1st half was a piss poor Ravens offensive performance. The Ravens scored on every possession of the 2nd half and the D did their job. If the Ravens ever put together 4 straight quarters of solid team football, they will be unbeatable. Maybe that happens in the playoffs?

I'm starting to feel better about this season. 453 total yards of offense.... against the Bucs D. Impressive. Lamar hit 7 receivers for 238 yards at 8.8 yards per catch. Yea. It was terrible passing in the 1st half and Roman's play calling....30 passes.... mind boggling.

Houston...2 sacks, 2 tackles for a loss, 2 QB hits...big game. He's earned the right to be a leader. Happy for him.

How about Duverney! 4 catches on 4 targets for 31 yards for 7.8 ypc. Then 2 runs for 33 yards for 16.5 ypc. 3 punt returns for 24-yard average.

Robinson sighting! 6 receptions fpr 64 yards for 10.7 ypp.

Then Likely's break out night: 6 receptions for 77 yards for 12.8 ypp and 1 TD.

All this because Andrews and Bateman were out, and Lamar had to find his other teammates.

Other than letting the Bucs march right down the field on their opening drive, the D showed up. 3 sacks on Brady. 6 QB hits. 5 tackles for a loss.

The penalty situation was really bad: 7 for 101 yards. Unacceptable.

Ravens win time of possession 38:23 to 21:37 :gorave:
