I watched Maryland Ohio State yesterday. Do I have to live through a repeat today? I'm feeling the Joe's going to push/force today. He's going to go all out to make plays. That usually means a ton of interceptions and sacks.

The purple kool aid has me thinking this is a winnable game. But.... The part of me that knows the game...that seldom seen, rational part says the Ravens have no shot. It's a pipe dream. You don't turn this boring and embarrasing wreck around in 1 week....

It seems like it's a Ravens tradition to gift scrub players an All Pro performance....just for a day. I mean, what did Borttles do against the Yets Sunday? He became himself again. Remember Cleo Lemon and the Phish? They hadn't won a game all year. It's a long list of unknowns who have career days against the Ravens.

It was announced at the game, on the spot and clear to me. But it happened real fast and I think people were not sure of what was going to happen. I was. I was trying to say, and I'll say it again, that if this had been announced a day or so before the game, that I think fans would have understood the kneeling and probably not boo'd because they would have known the kneeling would be for a moment of silence and then the players would stand for the anthem. If I had more time to understand what they were going to do, then I would have kneeled with them. I'm sure some fans would have boo'd anyway.

I didn't boo or get upset with it. I thought it was presented well and thought "Cool!" I think fans thought the Ravens were going to kneel for the anthem while the Steelers stood. They should have told the fans what they were going to do a few days in advance and I would have joined them in kneeling. As far as racism, it's not just the NFL. In very general terms, it's in every country on this planet from the beginning of recorded history. How do we overcome it and shift to a higher level out of this mess?

They can only get about 7-8 players a year through the draft. They'd have to hit big on all of them for 2-3 years to begin to turn any kind of corner. Not good odds for any GM. A major CAP purge means no money for free agency for years. They need veteran leadership too. Now.....they can identify a key core of talent and build around that. It wouldn't be this bad, but the huge amount of injuries that the Ravens have experienced is something no team can withstand for long. They have $19 mil tied up on the injured reserve list and $19 in dead money. How do you recover quickly from that? Yes the situation is bad. In 1996 Art could not afford a practice squad. By 2000 they won a Super Bowl. Amazing turn around and Ozzie was the architect. And he purged that roster and built a new team and won another SB. All during the age of Parity. Be careful what you wish for. There's high points and low points for everything. We're in a low. Who can lead the Ravens out of this the quickest and most effectively?

It's a crazy season. Panthers beat the Patriots. Bills beat the Falcons Rams beat Mexico's Team. Jet beat the Jags....they are 2-2....same as the Ravens. Today's question: Who has the better team?

I didn't think they had a shot to win when I left the house. I've sat through some brutal seasons and bad games. No need to stop now. I look for anything good. They had 1 good play in the first half. Their first play. Collins run.

I'll wait till the off season to get into this. Too much football to play. I will say I'm not happy with all of them.

It was brutal I actually had a good time. Lost my voice in the second quarter so I must be out of shape. By halftime the Ravens had been outscored 63-7 in their last 6 quarters and the brutal truth sunk in. There was a faint ray of sunshine when Wallace scored, but the Ravens were never really in this game after the opening drive. The Steelers being able to run the ball at will in the 2nd half was disappointing. Mosley can't cover. Jefferson keeps getting out of position. The Steelers kept bouncing the ball outside and the Ravens had no answer. What worked for a brief moment was the short passing game. Timed routes. Spot throws. Then the INT. The Steelers defense is not good. They were pitching a shut out.

This was a fun game to watch.. Big 10 game on the road against a 3-0 team and Maryland looked good. With a 3rd string QB. After the run of good Terp receivers in the NFL I hope the Ravens can get another one in D J Moore. He's a beast. Boldin with speed. Also, I have to laugh at myself. My biggest problem or issue this morning is not protesting but whether or not to wear my Ravens purple socks. I wore them last week and the Ravens were clobbered. Think I'll go white.
