I'm sure the Ravens have been doing, and will do, everything they can to let Gary know how much they appreciate him and want him. But if Kubiak wants to go back to being a HC, then there is nothing the Ravens can do. And for us fans....it's another excellent coach lost to the continuous raids by the rest of the league on what is a great Ravens organization. How the Ravens keep restocking with so many good coaches is amazing.

Every team projects for a replacement of their QB whether he's great or average. The problem is this is a QB starved league, so most of the time "you luck into" a very good QB as the next step. You hope to draft or acquire good replacements for very good players but it doesn't always work out. Sometimes a team ahead of you in the draft takes your guy. Sometimes...let's say... you have 3 needs on offense but the BPA may be a defensive stud. There are tons of variables and team needs and no organization can fill them all. As for Birks replacement: How do you know that they weren't looking for it, but couldn't find the right guy? Birk's absence was not all that was wrong with the line. Yanda was 60% coming off an injury, Oher just played shitty.. KO got injured and Monroe was new. and Rice forgot how to run and then he got hurt. Joe lost Boldin and Pita and had nowhere to throw the ball. There was a lot more wrong than just Birks absence.

Keenum lost at least 7 games last year and the Texans didn't want him back. He's still a big fan favorite because of how great he played at Houston. Can't let him get hot...that would really charge up the crowd.

Good points from Clayton... When we're freeking out about the Ravens roster remember...there are so many variables designed to make....all teams mediocre. You can't stay good for long. If you do, then it's because you have an outstanding organization.

The Jaguars game is a good example of how the Ravens win with Joe. With everybody around him taking the day off, he stayed cool, didn't turn the ball over and made what plays could be made. No gaudy stats...just a win. Brees for all his stats has a 6-8 team. Give me Joe. The Ravens win with him at QB.Their winning record is phenomenal since Joe and Harbaugh came here.
