The Big 'IF"..... I see at least 1 loss in there somewhere. If Cousins throws for 400 yards then it might be time for us to pack in our hopes. "I do see the Ravens winning this one. Ravens/Browns. By the time this game happens Mayfields shoulder should be nice and tender. His back up Keenan is more of a threat. Toss up.

The Race is on. The Ravens remain in the thick of the hunt with 10 games to go. Here's a basic projection from the Sun on how the teams will finish the regular season: AFC North breakdown: Assessing the Ravens’ competition in another heated race for the throne - Baltimore Sun Projections: Steelers 7-10 Browns 10-7 Ravens 12-5 Bengals 11-6

It looks like Wink got hood winked. He's been doing this a ton this season. when Peters went down I thought no more cover zero this year. limit man coverage. They don't have the personnel to pull it off. He doesn't have enough cover guys and he doesn't have players who can blitz and pressure the passer consistently. And...apparently he ignored game film.... Here's one change they can make going forward.

The O line and Rushing attack went from Stanley - Bozeman - Skura - Powers - Brown in 2020 with Lamar, JK and Gus as runners. to Villanueva - Powers - Bozeman - Zeitler - Phillips in 2021 with Lamar, Murray/Freeman/ Bell/ Williams as runners. Night and Day. Even Roman can't work miracles with that and I stopped doing them a while ago.

Me too. I think everybody can see the end coming if he remains 95% of the offenses production. The help has to come from improvement here....

Field Yates (@FieldYates) Most receiving TD since Week 12 of last season: 1. Hollywood Brown: 12 T-2. Mike Evans: 11 T-2. Davante Adams: 11 T-4: Tyreek Hill: 10 T-4: Cooper Kupp: 10 T-6. DeAndre Hopkins: 9 Brown, who had an ADP of WR38 this preseason, is the 6th-highest scoring WR in fantasy in 2021. PFF BAL Ravens (@PFF_Ravens) Patrick Queen the first five weeks: 29.0 grade Lowest among all LBs Patrick Queen the last two weeks: 90.5 grade Highest among all LBs Bo Smolka (@bsmolka) Per @pfref, #Ravens CB Anthony Averett targeted a season-high 16 times against the #Bengals, gave up 8 completions, Burrow's quarterback rating on passes targeting him was 65.1. He finished with 7 tackles, team-best 3 PDs. Bengals hammered away at him and Averett held up well. Brian McFarland (@RavensSalaryCap) And, on about 1/2 of those completions, Averett was right with his man and tackled him immediately. Definitely had a good game and it will be interesting to see what kind of market awaits him as a UFA in March Bo Smolka (@bsmolka) @pfref And Marlon Humphrey: Targeted 10 times, gave up 7 completions, 2 TDs, 1 INT, passer rating vs. him of 112.5. Humphrey owned it after the game: "The biggest assignment was on me to kind of stop their top guy, and I lost that matchup. ... I’ve just got to play better." Jonas Shaffer (@jonas_shaffer) Here's where the Ravens stand in @fboutsiders' DVOA rankings entering the bye ... Total offense: No. 9 Pass offense: No. 12 Run offense: No. 5 Schedule strength: No. 27 Total defense: No. 20 Pass defense: No. 20 Run defense: No. 13 Sked strength: No. 13 Special teams: No. 1

On Humphrey and the secondary.......

I can't see these players giving up and quiting on the team and each other for any reason. They haven't tackled, pressured or covered for 4 full quarters except against the Chargers. Wentz, Carr, and Burroughs all threw over 400 yards. Did they quit those games?

Can they put Humpty together again? Or should we do the Emperor's New Clothes because the Ravens were exposed butt naked Sunday. And the fans turned their backs and emptied the stands. They have 2 weeks and wow what a mess. 41 points worth.Thousands of yards. The usual team issues of can't tackle, can't cover, can't run ( other then Lamar) remain. This is kind of serious for a game that requires a few basic fundamental skills: you block, you tackle, you run, you pass, you catch. Mekari will be out awhile with a high ankle sprain. The have David Sharpe and Smith to replace him? Anybody else? Who will be available by week 9? Wolfe, Hayes, Boyle, James, Watkins, Murray, Westry,..I'm probably missing some players, there's so many out injured. Then there the Missing Persons list of players who were on the field but not seen near the ball. The linebackers,, safeties.......the CB's need help...Can anything be done with them? How can this mess be improved?

Unlike the Ravens I have an alibi. I'm out of town.
-
Lol at me! I'm debating against myself here. I just thought that this Ravens team would be 1-6 or 2-5 if they didn't have Lamar. Talent, in the right positions is everything.
-
Coaching gets a D for this game. I give them a B for getting this patched up team to 5-2. Once you change a lot of players over a 7 game span you weaken communication, chemistry, and overall athleticism. The talent level obviously drops. Execution suffers. Performance suffers. Just look at the RB situation and run game. The O line amazes me....they should be horrid but they get some assignments done. The defense can't cover, pressure or tackle....it's 1 and done in the playoffs if some miracle does not happen here. Coaches look like shit with shifty talent and look great with great talent. The Browns and Bengals looked like shit forever and then they got talented players so their coaches are now great guys.. Look at the Chiefs ..3 points today...falling apart with Mahomes...Reid who was declared great maybe is not so great. Harbaugh and his staff is squeezing the max out of what he has. But not today. Not this week
-
A quick look at the box score for the defense tells who was present and who was absent.
-
Let's see here...D gives up 41 points...can't pressure the QB...can't cover receivers...can't tackle...
-
That was a brutal beating. 2 weeks for them to get their shit together.

One thing that turns me on is that Lamar and the Ravens bring people in this city together. Race, creed, religion seems to disappear when I go out on Purple Friday, around town and GameDay at the Stadium. Feels like we're brothers and sisters. I like that.

I'm selling if it's any other QB. But with Lanar???.. I'm buying..I Lamar is proving that the Ravens can win with less this year. Just look at all the key players who are missing. Eric will take care of the rest. .

He's resting. Comeonman! Getting old like you. OK...Here's stuff that pumps the Bengals up for this game..... " UNDERDOG: Bengals +6 Tall order? Sure. These Bengals, though, have matured into a watchable outfit with difference makers on both sides of the ball. Fifth overall pick Ja’Marr Chase needed a month at the new job to become a plug-and-play luminary. The hammer-dropping wideout’s 553 receiving yards through his first six games are the second-most by any rookie in the modern era. Joe Burrow — Pro Football Focus’ sixth-ranked quarterback — has tossed as many touchdowns (14) as Justin Herbert and Kyler Murray. Lou Anarumo’s defense is allowing the fifth-fewest points league-wide and the eighth-fewest yards on the ground. Linebacker Logan Wilson has emerged as a ballhawk, while free-agent edge Trey Hendrickson (with three sacks in the past two weeks) won hearts by housing Detroit rookie left tackle Penei Sewell, the guy many hoped Cincy would draft over Chase. The Bengals took the Packers to overtime and flat-out demoralized the Lions — Detroit went scoreless for 51-plus minutes and stalled at 3.7 yards per play — but can they hang with white-hot Baltimore? Stopping Lamar Jackson is a fool’s errand, but today’s Bengals aren’t scared of a street fight. Said Chase of the team’s desire to make life tough on the enemy: ”We have to step on people’s necks.”...Ravens News 10/21: AFCN Rivalry and more (msn.com)

Buy or Sell: When Jackson is no longer on his rookie contract that the Ravens will still be Championship Contenders because you don’t need to surround him with big-name free agents to be a championship contender...and.....The Ravens have also been bracing for Jackson’s expensive extension by accruing draft picks. Baltimore has 10 selections in the 2022 draft

It's early. Maybe he feels like staying home for good. The Ravens don't need anybody who's not 100% wanting to ball.
