  1. No way I could watch this game today. I'd bust everything up. It would set my surgery back a week. Remember: The Ravens are playing without some very good players in Webb and Lewis. Jimmy Smith might not play. Then Reed and Ngata will play injured. Suggs is just getting back. The Ravens haters will overlook these facts should the Ravens win. Home field advantage. Steelers have a very good defense. It helps. I think the Ravens will win despite that.
  2. Spen...the gall bladder was too messed up to keep. I know...a real downer. I think they fileted it inside of me and pulled it out their 4 holes they cut around my stomach with a DWalt 1/2" drill. It would have been a great company conversation piece. I'm home now. 12 hours after surgery and it feels like it too. The only way I was able to endure this tragic event and not go into a deep, dark depression was the knowledge that I was in your thoughts.
  3. Thanks everybody. They took it out around 1 this morning. I'm going to be fine. I came home from the game around 5-5:30....felt great. Then 1 hour the pain set in. It seems I have a talent to fall apart quickly...
  4. Oh...Upshaw had a great game. I liked him on one end and Suggs on the other. Nice game for Suggs too. 6 blocked passes.....finally. There was an Ed Dickson sighting with 2 big chain moving catches...and... a Kruger sighting...tipped a pass and caught it. He got the sacks and QB hits too. Ngata and Jimmy Smith sat out the game....getting healthy for Pittsburg.
  5. Yea...the Raiders were never in the game but on the stat board they had more yards, won TOP, but the big stat was: Redzone! Raiders 0 for 3. Ravens 4 for 5. We're getting some defense. And Joe???? Give him the ball with a minute 30 and he'll score from anywhere. He was on fire today. Lasers. Everybody scored. Tucker, Pita, Jones, Rice, Joe, Smith. 3 rushing. 3 passing. Torry Smith? 2 catches. 2 touchdowns. 33.5 ypc. Give Jacoby Jones a game ball! And Pita! He gets one too. We had a Stealer flashback... We had a regular season game and then a pre season game in the 4th quarter.
  6. I'm here @ the game. Let's bring home a win!
  7. I do not want to be sitting for 2 quarters while the offense is stalled. The Front Office sacrificed the defense to build an offense because high scoring offenses are supposed to be the future of the NFL. Guess what? Pittsburg, Houston, San Fran and Chicago all are in the top 5 defensively...and SB contenders. I'd say the Fron Office bonked.
  8. "Yea....all within walking distance of the Block. What more could you want?!"
  9. Sunny skies and temps in the 60's....beautifull football weather. Today's a regular season game...the real deal, but I think most fans are looking at this game as a tune up. Will we see more improvement?....some sign that this team is capable of being competitive and winning in the second half of the season?
  10. You'll be comming back north too...
  11. What an incredible person! That was inspiring. Thanks.
  12. That was a great game against Kentucky last night! This Maryland basketball team is going to do damage and be great to watch this year. What a great surprise Allen and Mitchell are! 10 rebounds for Mitchell. 3 for 19 on 3's...not good at all. Net Monster....23 points, 12 rebounds 4 blocked shots...best player on the court last night... Looks like Gary to me....
  13. We just added the best linebacker coach in the NFL....he'll be a big help for Pees too.
  14. Nice find Spen! Talking about a shift....I see your point papa. It's one thing to be openminded about issues such as gay marriage, gambling and legalizing pot and another to take action on them by voting for them. Then a shift occurs. It's a process. First comes awareness, belief and thought, then action. I take this recent shift as a sign people are getting more openminded. The shifts I want to see are in this country are higher than issues such as these, that really are small potatoes compared to the dark mushroom cloud that looms over this country. Issues and states of existence such as our national debt, global warming, being in a constant state of war as the world police led by the oil companies, the energy crisis, the rampant murder and violence in this country, and a Congress that no longer makes decisions based on the highest good for all. Shift to a vision of what is best for everybody on this planet. Identify where are we heading that's not good? How can we correct that from happening? Shift towards building and investing in that future today. We still have the money and the power that has our country as a world leader. With that comes the grave responsibility to be a good steward.
  15. For me, the 2 party system is a failure in todays era. Only a Democrat or a Republican has a shot at getting elected. It did not give me a choice of a person who I thought could lead and guide this country during a critical period of our history. There are a ton of brilliant people in this country who could be far better Presidents than either of those two, but the Democrats and Republicans have a monopoly that makes it impossible for the cream to rise to the top. So...I see no shift. Just the same old, same old.
  16. Boller wrecked Heaps body.
  17. I voted!

    Halfway

At this point the guy who can impact the rest of this season the most is Joe. It's his time. If Joe gets hot and consistent the Ravens get tough. "Doe de doe de dum de dum..." We can only expect a small amount of improvement from the defense given their circumstances. There are some really good QB's coming up in the next 8 games...no more WeeDones. Don't forget Special Teams...they are good and will help too.
  19. Fortunately for all, on this, I must sadly point out that you are wrong. I have spent years of sequestered study absorbing things they are not wanting you to know. If the Browns would have beat the Ravens, than that would have been the final sign that the end time is, in fact, here. But as you see...the universe is stable.

    Halfway

We're halfway through the season so is the glass half empty or half full? Before I start let me tell you: I'm one confused Ravens fan. I read this and thought "The truth hurts.... but bullshit kills". I'm not calling 6-2 bullshit, because getting a win in the NFL is a very difficult task. The Ravens have some quality wins over the Bengals, Patriots and Cowboys. They do have the second best record in the AFC halfway through the season. Yet....These 2012 Ravens do not have the feel of a strong, playoff caliber 6-2 record. The feel of an "on the rise" 6-2 record. It feels like a "hanging on" 6-2 record or an "on the ropes" 6-2 record. It's great to be 6-2 considering all the injuries and poor performances by the Ravens. I'll take it because that means the season is not over yet. They can get better. They are in position. A lot of teams are not "in position". The Ravens have to get better now...time has run out.... because look at the second half schedule...it's Showtime.... Raiders....Palmer is a shell of his former self but he still might have the Ravens number. The Steelers twice with the Chargers in between? That 3 game stretch will show us if this 2012 Ravens team are contenders or pretenders. It could sink the season. Then comes the Indigenous Persons. Fortunately, the Ravens get them in DC where Shannyrat is 5-15. Then 2 games against the Manning Brothers. Somehow I don't think Eli will suck like he did against the Steelers. That's his 1 bad game for the year. Peyton's on fire. Close out with the Bengals. Can this team even go .500 through that? Do that and they are 10-6. I thought they improved against the Browns....but it was the Browns so who knows? I want to believe in Harbaugh and this coaching staff. The last 4 years is proof that they know how to build winning teams. Playoff teams. This is their biggest challenge. I do believe in the ton of talent this team has. It is still loaded. On paper they have enough talent to piece together a very good team. This is a real head scratcher for me. Half full? Or half empty?
  21. Harbaugh makes it sound like they knocked off Goliath... It was the Browns!
