  1. This is so disgusting and sick...
  2. Week 9. Pittsburg. Ravens are 5-2 and Pittsburg is 6-2 with one of their losses to the Ravens. At stake: Everything. Set up: With 4.59 to play in the game, Pittsburg just scored to go up 20-16 on the Ravens. Looks like a typical Rthsslxxsbrrrgrrr comeback as their last 2 possesions ended in touchdowns and the Ravens D was beginning to break. They start smiling and dancing because it looks like the Ravens will drop to 5-3, lose the tie breaker and the Steelers will go to 7-2. Fans waive towells. The Ravens possesion is a quick 3 and out. Only 29 seconds off the clock and the Steelers get the ball back with 4:30 to go at their 46 yard line. More towell waving. The Steeler drive stalls at the Ravens 29 and the field goal unit comes on...but wait! Formation penalty and they now are pushed back 5 yards and have to punt. Fair catch Webb at the Ravens 8 with 2:24 to go. And 92 yards to go to get the win. Lot's of towell waving. Snickering. Steeler bench high 5 congratulations...but wait! The drive that turned the Ravens season around... Baltimore Ravens at 02:24 1-10-BAL 8 (2:24) (Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass incomplete short right to 84-E.Dickson. Coverage by #25 Clark, Pressure by #99 Keisel. 2-10-BAL 8 (2:16) (Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass short middle to 81-A.Boldin to BAL 29 for 21 yards (22-W.Gay). Two-Minute Warning 1-10-BAL 29 (2:00) (Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass short left to 15-L.Williams to BAL 42 for 13 yards (23-K.Lewis). 1-10-BAL 42 (1:35) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass incomplete short left to 27-R.Rice. Pressure by #94 Timmons. 2-10-BAL 42 (1:30) (Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass short right to 81-A.Boldin to PIT 49 for 9 yards (24-I.Taylor; 43-T.Polamalu). 3-1-PIT 49 (1:09) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass incomplete short right to 15-L.Williams (50-L.Foote). 4-1-PIT 49 (1:06) (Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass short middle to 81-A.Boldin to PIT 39 for 10 yards (22-W.Gay). 1-10-PIT 39 (:48) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass short right to 84-E.Dickson to PIT 37 for 2 yards (25-R.Clark). 2-8-PIT 37 (:42) (Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass incomplete deep left to 82-T.Smith. It was dropped. Watch this play and tell me that Joe doesn't look exactly like Johnny U on his "ungainly" scramble in the pocket, set up and delivery of the ball. 3-8-PIT 37 (:35) (Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass short left to 81-A.Boldin ran ob at PIT 26 for 11 yards. Timeout #2 by PIT at 00:28. 1-10-PIT 26 (:28) (Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass incomplete deep right to 16-D.Reed. Coverage by #24 Taylor. 2-10-PIT 26 (:23) (Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass incomplete deep middle to 81-A.Boldin. Coverage by #22 Gay. 3-10-PIT 26 (:14) (Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass deep right to 82-T.Smith for 26 yards, TOUCHDOWN. Penalty on PIT-22-W.Gay, Defensive Pass Interference, declined. 8 seconds left...Ravens win. They go to 6-2 and have the tie breaker over the Steelers. Steelers drop to 6-3. Towell waving stops. Steeler fans get that "far away look" and go forth into "the weeping and knashing of teeth". "and I got the girl..."
  3. Linebacker is one position where the Ravens need to get faster and younger. Bart does not fit that bill. He must go to the desert and have his desert experience.
  4. Hard to imagine what he would have done if he was healthy.. Great rookie year and he played hurt. Williams played well...hurt. I like giving Allen the shot...stay young...and thirsty my friend.
  5. Eisenberg... That free's up some decent money. Not having to use the franchise tag would free up more.
  6. From the Ravens website...
  7. Fuck it then...tell Joe to walk...get another guy.
  8. I believe John. The Ravens are going to offer Grubbs a lot of money...but....like Jason Brown, Dwan Edwards, Mugheli, and Tony Pashos, somebody will offer him insane money and over pay.
  9. Spear: I agree with you that it takes all 53 to win like the Ravens have done these last 4 years. All 3 units are critical to winning games with offense being 1/3rd of that....so Joe is riding the coat tails of this teams success. Now...teams don't go on runs like the Ravens have for 4 years straight without a good QB. Joe hasn't earned top 5 money...but I say lock him up and pay him well. One thing is proven...with this QB, who handles the ball every snap...the Ravens have won consistently. Joe is a big part of the winning formula. It could take 15 years to find a comprable replacement. Lock .him up for 7 years at $100 million...that will end up a bargain down the road.
  10. The CAP has caught up to the Steelers. They may tred water for another year but al this restructuring and age will crash in on them. It's caving in now and it started last season. Looks like the Bengals will jump over the Steelers this year as the Ravens biggest threat
  11. I hear the Ravens are not interested...they think Brown is the better receiver.
  12. You've been hanging around Brian Billick too much....
  13. I read this John Eisenberg column and thought I'd remind myself and all of us that the Ravens off season moves and aquisitions happen slowly and in a "Yawn" fashion. The biggest off season move I can think of was getting Shannon Sharpe and Sam Adams before the draft in 2000. That freed them to get Jamal. It placed the final piece in what was to be a ferocious defensive front 7. Sharpe brought the mouth, the swagger, vision, the playoff experience and high expectations to an 8-8 team. With the contract talk on Rice and Flacco it will be business as usual. That means it's February 21st and nothing will happen on either front until the last minute...as usual. Talking, speculation, rumors...we'll being out of air and still waiting for something to happen. It will be a long wait guys. Rice will get tagged and sign the day that he shows up to camp. If Joe is signed before August, it will be because he doesn't want to be distracted during camp and tells his agent to take the deal. Wallace and the other big names out there? They will go to other teams. Then Ozzie will go to work signing the 2nd tier, blue collar guys at bargain prices. Yup...and the guys we want on the draft board? Ozzie won't draft for need at those slots unless a 'need position guy' is close or evenly matched to the best player available on their board. As usual, we'll be screaming and complaining while all these good guys, "Ravens Needs", land somewhere else. Then we'll be staring at what looks like an empty pot to pick from and...Wham!...Ozzie gets a $teal and the guy impacts the team right away....fills a need. To predict Ozzies moves, you have to get your head down in this level. Ozzie rarely veers from Art Models 3 basic tenents for building a winning team: 1. Draft adroitly. 2. Sign free agents selectively. 3. Develop 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year players.
  14. Shit!.... it's the tackling and gap intergity that pisses me off. Yea...he has no tackling MoFo WR's and TE's out there. Then nobody blocks or creates lanes for the runner. Then...the good runners fumble, so we settle for any guy who can catch the ball. It's a joke.
  15. Interesting that this has come up. When Billick was hired he needed a QB from day 1. During the early part of the Billick era, he and Ozzie were on the same page that you don't draft a QB. The thinking was that it takes 2-3 years for him to develop and just when he gets good, he becomes a free agent. In essence, you've spent a lot of money, time and resources to develop a player for another team. They reap the rewards. Free agency was the least expensive way to get one and you are getting a proven player with a body of work to evaluate and plug in. Darn....it didn't work.
  16. Hey dickhead...it's not fun being a college girl and getting flashed either.
  17. "Does Pittsburgh have a problem?"
  18. Joe's a tight wad. He got his Mom a lawnmower with his signing bonus....no shit. He won't be hard to please...and his agent won't like that.
  19. This is just rumor. When I hear Rice say it then I'll say tag him for the next 2 years. Johnson had 1 great season and then sucked. 7 years for $100 million shows how stupid the Vikings are...his knees are going already, he fumbles and can't catch. AP is great...no doubt, but he's not worth that kind of money. He got it because he's the only drawing card star they have. Ray's the best all around RB in the NFL...... Baring injury he should have at least 3 more monster seasons the way the Ravens use him...then the decline.
  20. It's Bengals, Browns, Steelers than Ravens... Rossberg has done little with all the talent that he has. No excuses...his units disappoint even when his kickers are kicking lights out like 2010.
  21. From John Eisenberg... Eisenberg has done a great job this year covering the Ravens. It's great to have a solid writer and journalist like him on the beat. There are a lot of reporters who cover the Ravens who I think don't know anymore than we do, but John's not one of them. The read between the lines has been for some time now that the Ravens will sign Joe and franchise Rice. Rice being the odd man out when he is arguably the key man on this offense.......so here we go with the rumors....the "according to a League Source" rumors...
  22. That was your plan all along wasn't it? You convinced the wife that you could make about $2-3 hundred a day running some friendly poker games, football pools and horse bets with those poor and unsuspecting seniors...not too much to hurt anyone....not too much to get noticed...but just enough.
  23. Here's more on this raging debate... http://www.baltimoreravens.com/?homepage=true
  24. I think you're on to something there Spear. We really have no idea but you just violated board rules.. ....this admission is not supposed to be posted publicly or admitted by anyone. Week after week we pick apart the line, Cam, Joe, the receivers...all those aspects that stand in the way of this offense firing on all cylinders (except for that beautiful opening day ass kicking of the Steelers...let's pause for another toast!)......all those things that revolve around Joe's status amoung NFL QB's and his future. Well...with all these areas that are potential factors that keep this offense from breaking out...maybe...because they keep winning, with another year together and a few tweaks, 2012 is The Year. Is Joe the guy? Can the Ravens go to the Promised Land with him? I think so. Ravens management thinks so. His team mates think so....they know more than us...probably...
