Crazy as it sounds, both teams are fighting for a playoff spot. this looks like a good day for the Ravens to run the ball and control the clock. Elliot leads the league in fumbles. Perhaps he'll play Santa tonight. Right now I'll be happy with any kind of Ravens win and that they come out of this game healthy. Of course if they win, yet execute poorly and look sloppy, that will not be a good foreboding of things to come. I hope to see things they can build upon....and a win. Then it's a quick turnaround to Monday Nights meeting with the Brownies. I don't see it. Do you? Save them from the Browns. OH...save your money... Nobody's stupid enough to do that here...right? ..Hey! How'd that get in here!?

It was delightful to watch Washington defeat the Steelers. Then a light bulb went off. If Washington could beat the Steelers (the Ravens couldn't twice) then what about a beat up Cowboy team against a rusty Ravens team that has not performed as expected all season long?

He's calling for a coup. This is really serious shit. They are saying the election was a coup and now the armed forces are necessary to restore democracy. That's also martial music for the gun toting element of Trump followers who believe the election was a scam and now they need to rise up and defend America. Read this a shit your pants.... https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/04/politics/trump-nominee-pentagon-martial-law/index.html

I have a lot of friends now who are showing signs of wear. I wouldn't call them depressed...one definitely is....most are just down. I just sent a Christmas floral bouquet to a family member who is really stressed out. then I mailed some holiday packages to my children. i find that taking any kind of positive action helps others...and me. I think it's important, when out, to say hi and give a smile...to whoever is there. Any little bit helps to raise the vibration. It's December 4th. We have a long way to go.

I think the Browns game is the litmus test. I saw Washington beat the Vaqueros 41-16. They ran for 182 yards. Not too worried. The players know what's at stake.

Here's a small tidbit on the covid list...

"VIVA VAQUEROS!!!" I'm feeling some guilt here associating this team on the fine and beautiful people of Mexico and their wonderful culture, but I'll be damned if I'll let the media here keep calling them "America's Team" without some futile protest. And besides, they stole the name of Cowboy from the Mexicans.... So there. It's part of Mexico's heritage. Nevertheless..As our good friend Bob Hannie says, "I digress." Ravens win probability 81.6%. There is a 0.1% chance of a tie...You won't get this kind of inside information anywhere. Remember this? ... From ESPN......... Team Stats Points Per Game 22.8 25.6 Points Allowed Per Game 32.6 19.5 Total Yards 402.6 346.9 Yards Passing 290.8 189.3 Yards Rushing 111.8 157.6 Yards Allowed 392.8 351.8 Pass Yards Allowed 236.5 240.2 Rush Yards Allowed 156.4 111.6 With 5 games remaining, this is a "must win" game for both teams to keep their playoff hopes alive. The 3-8 Vaqueros are very much in the hunt to win their division. I can't find information that will tell me the injury report and who will be off the Covid list by then. Perhaps tomorrow. Here's a list of players from yesterdays game: https://www.baltimoreravens.com/team/injury-report/ 8:05 kick off Tuesday night at M&T Bank Stadium.

We know what to do. Yet the situation has changed. It's escalated and is getting darker. Currently...12/3/20... Virus is saturating every place that the public gathers. It's not like it was this summer, where levels were low and it was harder to get dosed. It's basically not safe anywhere. Especially at home if you have people coming in and out. That is the main source of the spread. Small gatherings. Having the vaccine is great news...if it works. Yet this will not get us through the next 3 months. It will be a beginning toward a possible end. I'm going to take it asap as a civic duty, not because I feel safe taking it. The opposite: I feel like a human guinea pig. A lab volunteer. At best, if I can get vaccinated by the end of this month. then I'll need the final shot by the end of January. Then comes the leap of faith that I'm immune. Yet...I don't know if I will still be a carrier or how long the vaccine will be effective. So masks and social distancing will remain an important part of our lives for....at least 6 months. I'm quarantining because I can. I'm retired. If I was 50, then I'd be working. The isolation wears me down at times. Not being together with my children hurts. It's not happening for these holidays, in hopes that we can be together next year for the holidays. Nevertheless, staying at home and isolating as much as possible is the right thing to do. It protects me, yet more importantly it protects others from the very real possibility of them catching it from me and taking it into their homes and families. We are in one hard period of darkness before we will experience the light. Let's pull through this together.

Mike's thinking the same way.... tsyl said it best. Let's take this one game at a time now. The Ravens have not earned a playoff spot, so looking ahead and thinking they will roll over the "WEAK" competition is not wise. We just witnessed a depleted Ravens roster, with no practice, almost take down the undefeated Steelers. This is the NFL....anything...strange things, can and do happen. And this is one strange unpredictable season. Yet running that table is the goal. One game at a time. For me as a fan, I'm excited. The remaing schedule looks like "must wins." 5 of them in a row. Let's take them one at a time and hope momentum builds. Hope this team plays to their potential down the stretch. Once again the Ravens have meaningful games in December. ...all a fan can ask for. Next up: Mexico's Team.
