On the Ravens in FA so far: Ozzie's doing what he always does in letting the market settle down. He won't get in bidding wars during the early days of free agency. Let the top dollar guys go. They are signing their own and waiting for value. The Ravens are set at CB...that's not a team weakness.

I think Heap and Mason will be resigned. If not...probably not missed. Why? The passing offense was 20th last year so it really can't get much worse. Final 2 games last year: 102 yards against the Browns...102 yards 125 yards against the Bengals. We saw how these guys couldn't get open. Time for change.

That would create a huge CAP imbalance on their team for a long time. Having the 2 best corners in the NFL would be quite a feet.

Yea...it counts. Signing Ngata is critical to getting the CAP space to be a player in the market.

...and Ozzie knows it. This will be the best FA market and Ozzie has deceided to be a player. If ever there was a time a team could make huge strides improving their overall talent, then that time is now. You have to take risks to win. You have make moves, take steps, however bold, to reach the top (read my book on how I finally became a poster on ExtremeRavens ) He's dumping CAP because the market is getting flooded with good experienced players. You can bet he's pushing overtime to get Ngata signed to get more CAP. The Ravens organization took a huge inventory of the team to clearly see who they are, what they are missing, where they want to go and how to get there. Ozzie has a clear vision of who will fill this teams needs. He's going hunting. I don't expect any big name contracts. Not when he can get a bevy of blue collar, solid football players. You can go all the way with them. Ask the 2000 Ravens....ask the Patriots. He's not going to add a few CAP busters with all the Ravens he wants to bring back. Not with Flacco and Rice comming due next year. But Oz will turn this roster around. The team will get younger, stronger and faster overall.

You know Ray's untouchable...he owns the team, front office, city... Plus they have no MLB who can give even 40% of Rays production. Get rid of Chester too.

Typical Ozzie...let them find their value on the market...they maybe he gets them at his price. Or not typical? Maybe he's going with 'the youth movement'. That would be an organizational change in philosophy. They typically hang on to key players too long.

wow! That was quick. Didn't see Gregg and Heap cuts comming. Maybe to rework their contracts, but Heap was a major part of the offense. Heap is one play making MoFo. Gregg is near the end and Arthur Jones, Cody, And McKinney can get the job done. Looks like Ozzie has a serious plan about to unfold. He's not wasting any time.
