  1. "Ohh! Bad Luck. Brownies don't love you back. Maybe you can crawl on your belly to Seatle"
  2. That can happen if nobody tenders him. Anybody who signs him faces that senario. So...just like the Ravens didn't take Boldin without an agreed upon contract extension, the same thing will happen with Gaither. That will set Gaithers market value and Ozzie will either beat it or take the pick depending on how much they value Gaither. One thing more...Can they afford to pay him LT money when they have big money in Oher? LT is (I think...not sure) the highest paid position next to QB. They really have 2 LT's in Oher and Gaither.
  3. I think he'll be back. Ozzie can't forget about a guy who played with one arm. Did you hear Boldin lobby for Mason?
  4. ...and let me say something about Stallworth being an upgrade....Patrick Johnson could fly just like Stallworth but that never stopped any team from putting 8 in the box. Why? Because you have to catch the ball to be a threat. Being fast isn't enough. Straight line speed ain't much either. Now...Stallworth might go back to his rookie year and then the Ravens have that valuable weapon. He's gotten worse...not better. So this is his last big chance to revive his career. Stallworth, Mason and Boldin is a very big upgrade over last years group. If that group can stay healthy...a big 'if" there.
  5. Do you have to have ACL problems to play on the Ravens secondary? I'm sure the Ravens will give him a very thorough physical. The price must be right and Jackson was real good before he got hurt. Whatever...the Ravens need CB's.
  6. I stand by what I said... Boldin is younger...more physical...but the end result is the same...both make the 1st down grabs. They are both 1,000 yarders year in and year out. Mason has the better yards per catch at 14.1 vs 12.2 for Boldin. Mason has 7 TD's to Boldin's 4 last year. It matters not whether you run over CB's for first downs or break their ankles on a cut. Moving the chains is moving the chains. Very similar production-wise. Now...we know Mason's tank will run dry soon but I think he has one more great season in him...maybe 2. It's inexplicable how Mason has been so underrated this past decade. He was one of the top 5-10 receivers but because he doesn't scream for attention...he was basicaly over looked and unnoticed.
  7. No! Not at all. I can live with that."
  8. Somebody will tender Gaither this week or once the UFA market thins out. The good news is there is no team who has targeted him as a "must have" addition to their offense or he would have been tendered by now. It's all good. The 1st round tender was designed to draw interest and let Gaither see his value so the Ravens can lock him up long term. It's not quite the drama sweating risk of going "All In" in Texas Hold'm, but it's close. Ozzie pushed the rest of the NFL teams to try a taste. We'll all be sweating this for sure. Nobody would give up a 1st and a 3rd for him, but just a 1st???...uhhh...."Ok, We're in. I call you Ozzie". The suitor will give Gaither a long term contract offer which Ozzie has the opportunity to match or excede. In Ozzies favor is Gaither and Oher are tight and this is Gaithers home...not to mention the great team, facilities and coaching staff. If the monies close (on the long term deal) Gaither remains a Raven. I don't think it will be ridiculous J.O. money for the simple fact that would have happened by now. I don't see a "Pashos" debachle in the making where the money is just stupid. But should that happen, the Ravens still are looking good. They'd get a 1st round pick...say the 49'ers 12th pick. Ozzie can do a lot with that. They can move Oher to LT...he's the better of the 2 there anyway. That's where Ohers future should be. Then Ozzie needs to find a RT this off season...not as hard to find as a LT. He can sign Terry cheap as depth and use Yanda if need be. And he gets a future Pro Bowler with the pick. Two 1st round picks in this deep of a draft is not a bad thing. Personally I want Gaither back and signed long term. "Me too."
  9. At this moment, the signing of Boldin is only a 'Push'. All that's happened is one 1,000 yard receiver has been replaced by one who is younger. Despite what the media says, there is a sense of urgency to sign Derrik Mason. Sign him and this receiving corp is vastly improved in the short term because the Ravens would now have TWO 1,000 yard receivers. They don't have that with Stallworth and Boldin + the usual suspects. Not at this moment. Now to this sense of urgency. It won't happen fast because Derrick needs to find his market value. No teams are looking his way right now. Once Derrick finds his value then he has to deciede if the money is wqorth giving his all for 2 more years or to retire from the game. Retirement is a real option because he will not get 'Boldin' money. You don't replace Masons production over night via the draft and there are no receivers that I see in free agency who the Ravens can afford to sign. So they need Derrick....but Ozzie has to be patient while Derrick finds his value and desiedes if he can live and play with for that money. So...it's 3rd and 5...I like the Ravens chances with Heap, Stallworth, Boldin, Rice and Mason on the field. I love their chances.
  10. "You guys forgot about me but Ozzie didn't...we won't skip a beat at DT."
  11. Teams who are playoff contenders will avoid T.O like the plague. They will not allow anything to upset that chemistry. His lot is with the 'Buffalo's' of the world.
  12. He also failed to notice that Boldin was in Warners 'dink & dunk' offense. Fans think of Fitzgerald as a field stretcher. Guess again. His YPC is less than Boldins. How many teams have a real field stretching playmaker anyway? Finally...what's wrong with moving the chains? What's wrong with a 1,000 receiving yards a year? If the Ravens retain Mason then there is a strong probability of the Ravens having 2 1,000 yard receivers in 2010. They haven't had that since Jackson and Alexander in '96. What's wrong or weak about that? "Nothing!" The gamebreaker part comes from the whole package of receivers. The better the package, the harder to cover, the more mismatches exploited. Nothing in the poll says Boldin is a gamebreaker. It says "Yes. He could be the missing piece the Ravens needed at wide receiver." He could be the missing piece that makes the whole very effective and difficult to defend.
  13. It was dark, he had a few drinks and he mistook the poor girl for Willie Colon.
  14. The Spoonge Bob music sucked but the video was outstanding. That certainly pumped me up. I'm not saying this is the same level of signing, but it has a feel of 2000 when the Ravens signed Shannon Sharpe. Ozzie did good. The Bengals and Browns could use a receiver and Oz beat them to the lunch table.
  15. "This is going to kill blood pressure medication and tranquilizer pill sales."
  16. Sundays just got better!
  17. "It's going to cost me another hundred bucks to buy his jersey."
  18. Nice find faaaaq! He'll definately bring a physical pressence. "What do you think Mike?"
  19. Of all the options and possibilities on the market, I like this one the best.
  20. Fantastic game and win! Thank You Gary and Maryland for some outstanding basketball down the stretch! Williams, Vasquez, Mosley, BGowie, Milburne, Gregory, Hayes,,,all of you. First place tie...a win over Virgina clinches an ACC Title banner.
