  1. Definately a late hit smokey. The Ravens will win today so the Pats have to hope for a Jets win.
  2. Take your phone...we'll meet up.
  3. "Any chance of that stadium being blown to Toronto?"
  4. The ax can fall, but it won't stop this chicken from running headless around the yard..
  5. I hope Suggs is right...but the CAP tells me they can't invest that much money into the LB position.
  6. E-Gad! It just struck me that tomorrows game could be the last time we see certain players in a Ravens uniform. Ray, Pryce, Rolle, Bart, Suggs, Stover...Kyle Boller... Jason Browns a FA... The there's injured guys like Gregg, Reed and Mason. I think they'll be back but you never know about surprises. Ed was borderline last August. There should be a 20-30% roster turnover again. Wow...can't fathom this as Ray's last home game as a Raven...doesn't compute.
  7. mason has to play because there's no tomorrow. If the game becomes a Raverns blowout...then rest Derrick. Until then...he has to play. Sad thing is that this is Marcus Smith's opportunity to step up...and he hasn't.
  8. Get honest crav...you want cheerleader shots...
  9. 50 years to the day and Ravens fans have a unique opportunity to see their team celebrate this anniversary by locking up a playoff spot. How's that for timing! There are times when I feel the "Ghosts of the Past" at M&T Bank Stadium. That spirit and energy. The 2000 playoff game with Denver was one of them. It comes on like goose bumps. I think I'll be heading into a time warp tomorrow night.
  10. Since the beginning of the season I circled this game because it was the 50th anniversary of the Baltimore Colts Championship win. I thought that at least fans could wrap up a 7-9 or maybe 8-8 season on a high note. We'd feel good that the team was on the rebound...maybe get to see our rookie QB play some...perhaps a tune up for next year...and get to share memorable moments with the greats of the past. Never did I think the Ravens would be playing to clinch a playoff berth. To clintch it at home is a rare thing so soak it up! Ravens fans will go "through the roof" should the Ravens win. A Ravens win tomorrow night will be a remarkable regular season finish. Past history meeting present history. I can see the party at M&T right now. I know Baltimore fans and the 12th man is going to be "off the charts" with all the electricity that will be in the air. Call it "Winning football" or "Baltimore Pride" we have both. History and tradition, past and present. Ray Lewis meet Lenny Moore. For us old guys...Memorial Stadium meet Ravens Stadium. I'm so happy that the tradition continues. I know I will have swirling memories of the 'old days' mixing with the new. Baltimore fans will have "Their" Hall of Fame players, past and present, on the field tomorrow night. Lenny, pass the tourch to Ray. Old memories meet the new ones. It should be one hell of a show.
  11. He's definitely a bust. When he lines up I think "Well, they won't have a running game today."
  12. Wanting to be the spoiler means you were rotten during the season. You don't change that like flicking on a light switch....like "Oh! This week it's different. We're gonna play really great inspired football." For the Ravens D, chasing down Choice of Dallas was a good tune up for Jones Drew. Stop him (not easy) and it's all over for the Jags. The big play is what concerns me. The Ravens D almost gave up a couple of those last week when the score was hovering around 13-9. If Dallas makes them it could have swung momentum, but Romo couldn't connect....then he started to at the end of the game. The Ravens D is vulnerable when Washington or Rolle are missing...that's been the case for the Stealers 92 yard winning drive and Romo's comeback bid in the 4th quarter.
  13. and he'll do it with Dennis Northcut!... "Not on our watch David."
  14. Here's my picks. First...I agree with rm52 who says, When I think of the offense I ask myself 'Who made the big difference?' For me it's Cam Cameron who squeezed the most out of this motley crew. Yet the question is about players and on offense the O line made the difference. They protected Joe, created running lanes for a sub par McGahee, an out of shape 2nd year fullback turned tailback, and an undersized rookie with the heart of a lion who's legs were run off in training camp because the other two backs couldn't make it onto the field. They excelled. They have the leagues #2 rushing attack and without that, Flacco's rookie season...well it could have been horrible. Cam knew this and never abandonded the run even though for the most part it was 2 yards and a cloud of dust. It kept the defense's honest. But......I need to name 1 guy on offense...so I name Joe Cool. Do you think the Ravens would be sitting at 10-6, on the cusp of making the playoffs with Boller under center? With Smith??? With the murderous swchedule the Ravens had this year? No way. 6-10 maybe. Joe stayed cool, played within the gameplan, moved the chains and put points on the board. This team is a respectable 13th in scoring. Sure the running game is a big part of that, but Joe was the spark time and time again. He caught passes, ran for TD's, improved and grew weekly, but most of all...he stayed cool...unFlaccable... This inspired and rallyed his offensive team mates who believed 'We can win with this guy'. It rallyed the O line...gave them pride...so much that they played through the injuries at a high level. On offense...because I have to pick one guy...Joe was the key addition. Koch definately gets the ST award. On defense..it's Ray all the way. In fact I'll name him my team MVP right now too. With a new regime comming in, Ray unified the team because 'he bought in' from the gate. He pulled everybody together to believe in what the new staff was laying before them to do. Then he went out onto the field and led by example. Sure...we know the D line makes him dominant...just like the O line did for Joe, LeRon and co. Yet Ray is the heart and soul of what 'Ravens Football" is and this is exactly the mentality that Harbaugh wanted to create to have success. He promised tough, physical, 60 minute football. Ray embodies that...it is this teams identity. When I saw Gaither playing with one arm...I knew Ray had something to do with that even if it was only inspiration. Anderson comming back last week. Ed Reed playing with a life altering condition. Let's not forget Derrick Mason...how inspiring...the will to never quit until carted off the field. The source of that is heart and desire and that goes back to Ray. Harbaugh got his "tough mighty men'...his 'Ravens'. A Team...like rm52 points out. No 'quit' in these dogs.
  15. I was listening to Viviano's show this morning and they were having callers pick the Ravens MVP this year. I started thinking and it became a tough call for me to make....especially just to pick one player! So...let's do this....... First: List who is your Ravens MVP pick for offense, then defense and finally, special teams. Now comes the hard part...name your overall 2008 Ravens Most Valuable Player. That would be the one player who made the most difference in tilting the scales for the success this team has had this year.
  16. "Why must you make us nervous as hell every day?"
  17. I'm still in shock over these two plays. The game and the playoffs were on the line. The O did not panic. The execution was excellent. When was the last time a Ravens offense matched an opponent blow for blow? They seen to be able to do that regularly this season.
  18. He's earned it...Merry Christmas Joe!
  19. Do you think all 3 RB's will play Sunday? That would really open up the attack.
  20. Here's the wheels as I see it... Next 5 Ravens games...and wins! Jaguars Phins Titans Stealers SB
  21. Dolphing is the best matchup by far...plus the Ravens would have home field advantage...down there!
  22. I'm thinking the same va....keep one foot on the neck and the dogs on the leg.
  23. BALTIMORE-11½ vs. Jacksonville (35½)
  24. Fred Taylor said the chemistry on this 2008 Jaguars team is the worst he's ever been around.
