For me the game was never in doubt. I wasn't nervous like I usually am. It was only game 2. Good teams develop and mature over the course of a season. And the Ravens???? Just look at how well balanced they are. Offense, defense and special teams. All units are very solid and it showed Sunday. Sunday, on a day that the offense had trouble finding the end zone, the defense was needed and they made the plays and critical turnovers that set up the winning formula for this game. Special teams came through. Tucker was clutch. That's all that matters. Winning. It can be by offense, great defense, great special teams play....doesn't matter who shines. The Ravens can build on this. Winning through a total team effort. They will need this Monday Night.....and I think they will bring it and eek out the win.

The future looks bright! With Stanley out and Yanda retired it will take time for this O line to get close to where they were last year. Yea...it was great to watch football. KC has picked up where they left off. The crowd noise was good for 17,000. That changed the atmosphere. It will be weird to hear crickets in most stadiums. The Ravens play the Texans next week and then KC so this was good "film study."

It's not a waste for me if there are no crowned champions. Any football beats a blank. Certainly I would be disappointed to know the Ravens had their best roster ever and I'll never know how good they could have been. A 6-8 game season would be disappointing. However that's 6-8 games that I get to see and I'll take that. I love Ravens football. Another way that I look at this season with all the unknowns: they have to play one game and that sets up the possibility for a second game. One week at a time sets up the possibility that a full season actually happens. You have to try. You have to take that first step.

I'm back. Fired up and loving it. The serious reality around all of us remains, so taking a football break here and there is just what my head needs. It's good to have something not serious and fun going on too. This is the best Ravens roster we have ever had. Will that translate to wins and a SB? I don't know. The excitement and anticipation to see how well they perform has my blood up. The competition for the North will be tight and fierce....and it all begins Sunday.

Come on Lamar! Here's his next step....starting Sunday... Browns weak points........... Jedrick Will Jr....rookie LT who played RT in college. He's had no OTA's like everybody but switching postions without the reps will slow his development. He's bee getting beat in camp. I think Mayfield was one of the most sacked QB's last year and part of that was due to a weak blind side LT. They have a ton of weapons on offense but it won't mean much if the O line remains porous. This is why they kept 5 TE's. They will run often. Their secondary is banged up. The Curse of Art Model. Cleveland water. New coaching staff Ravens open as 8 point favorites. And Just Remember: The Browns beat the Ravens 40-25 last September. They will face a different and improved Ravens D.

There was one play where Bert Jones launched a ball to Carr racing down the right sideline. I was sitting in the upper deck and the apex of the pass looked higher then the stadium. Like a rocket launch into space. It was like a 70+ yard TD play. Took my breath away.

They are too thin a TE. I can't wait to see Dobbins with the ball and the impact that Campbell will have. And...can you imagine the impact of Jackson and Brown IF they are 100% healthy, in sync and have their timing down?!

Thanks for putting this up. I'm very excited that football is about to start. It's anybodies guess about how well teams will execute. As you know I've been totally sidetracked on this election and all the issues. I'm in over load...saturated and so happy the season is right around the corner. It's messing my head up and I really need a break. I have been following the Ravens everyday since camp started yet I've hardly talked about them. That's never happened in my life since I was 13. Now....I've been called to the basement to accept my forthcoming discipline: The Ravens go as far as the O line. Defenses will be ready this season for the Ravens offense. The Ravens have a ton of weapons on offense so the only weak point....the main point to attack and disrupt the offense will be to attack the line. Offenses around this copy cat league will install segments of what the Ravens offense executed last year. Expect the athletic QB's to run more. Not worried about teams running up the middle this year. I am worried about our secondary against the run. Teams will have to run outside and if these guys can't tackle there will be trouble. Hopefully Queen is as fast as advertised because he will be busy. The D has to set the edge. Beware the Browns opening day They have so much talent. Hopefully it hasn't gelled yet due to the new coaching staff and the water in Cleveland. Opening day will set the tone and the race for this season. Heading to the basement now....
