  1. Yeah. I always say Ozzie and that's inaccurate but I blame him when guys get away that I don't want to get away. But you're right. That's why I ended with good job Front Office.
  2. You're a good dude Money. And it doesn't matter, about how we got him. We got our guy. I saw your point.
  3. Wow! I only thought he was worth 7.5 a yr. I thought he'd get more but Ozzie once again proves that he knows what he's doing more times than not. Good job on this one FO
  4. Lol then that means we worried for nothing and Ozzie just did his thing.
  5. I just hope we can get Monroe at the 8.5 to 9 mil a yr average. It seems the Ravens think that's fair like I thought it was. But teams seem to think 10 a yr is the highest they will pay for their targets. Still hoping we can get this guy andake us all happy
  6. Same thing I've been saying about Monroe. I agree. Daryl Smith is the right guy but it has to be at a reasonable price. He's 31-32 yr old so he's a short term answer
  7. DS is the right guy. He gives us time to draft one or find a younger option over the next 2 or 3 yrs if we keep him.
  8. We've been talking about Monroe's worth on another thread for days School. Money seems to think he's going to get 10+ a yr. I agree that he's going to get it but I don't think he's worth it either. But I see Money's point. I don't agree but I see what he means.
  9. I don't dislike Oher. He's a versatile RT. That's value. But he isn't top tier. Everyone is going to get paid if they hadn't signed already. free agency is the bonanza. Overpaid is thrown out because later when you can't get a player you want because you have no money and your team is 8-8 or 9-7 you start thinking about who you paid too much. That's why it's being said Money. I don't know who we're going to pay but on day one of the season the money will be spent. If we go 9-7, you will hear more about overpaid players .
  10. I done mind Oher back but at RT and for a smaller number than LT money. 8- 10 money for Monroe. If he was a RFA and we were trying to sign him I would bet we could get him at 9 a yr and he'd be happy. Free Agency blew it all out of proportion. That's why homegrown talent is best.
  11. Money, so are you saying to sign Monroe at all costs and let the future gains save us from cap destruction
  12. I agree here. Prep for a less than ideal cap jump. I believe it will jump also, but until I get something official, nothing is a sure thing.
  13. Money, IF those projections come true then 10 mill a yr isn't much to worry about but it's a huge if. It's a scary if. 2015 projections could be wrong and the cap goes to 133 and then 140. That's a whole different deal if you based 2014 signings on a 145 and 160 cap in future yrs. it could hurt, badly.
  14. Hmmmm maybe. It depends and those cap projections are still just projections. But if it really does jump like that then you might be right but I try not to base too much on projections and what I'm not sure of. And I know, regardless of my threshold point, the Ravens have one too.
  15. Lol! Evans became a pipe dream when he ran that 4.53 40. We'd have to trade up no matter if we sign Monroe or not. Monroe is going to get massively overpaid it seems.
  16. It's okay that we disagree. But get my ideas correct. I said what I thought and where I would start. 7.5 and I agreed with you that we wouldn't get him at that. I say 9 is the threshold. But that's my opinion. If we sign him for 9.5 I would be unhappy with the amount. But I'm a fan so I accept. But to keep insinuating that I think we can sign him for what I think he's worth is not what I expressed. I don't think this guy makes or breaks us and you do. That's fine. I just don't see him that way as a player so to give him 10+ mil a yr is getting near 10% of the cap. So you think he's that important or good? If you do, you go ahead and beat that drum but I can't dance to that music. Agree to disagree
  17. It really hard to sum up a team so quickly. We do need Ray Rice to be Ray Rice or a running game to emerge that is effective. We also need that Boldin type guy that makes tough catches. Edelman- I can't explain why I'm not sold Nicks- I am sold, I think we should consider it Decker- again, I am sold, I like Decker in Purple Could we trade back and still get Benjamin at 23, 24, or 25? Or do we wait for the second rind and hope we can land The Vandy kid? Draft a lineman or safety in the first round. So much to think about. Mentioning Ray and the wideout issue is standard fare. True tho. Oh and Jacoby, keep him if he's reasonable. I think Jacoby is a firecracker on the field. He's just not an every down guy
  18. Nope. Do you think we should pay up? I don't think we should but we will see. We are talking 5 yrs 60 mil if he values himself as the best of the class.
  19. First, D Smith is a different deal altogether. He's not asking to murder our cap and line his pockets. He was part of the reason the defense improved. His potential cap number is going to be workable. Ravens offer what they offer Monroe. Dolphins give him 5 for 50. Let him walk. Sign Oher for the right side at a friendly number, and go after Albert at a lower number, or even Collins. If it falls thru it falls thru and you see what you can get in the draft but no I wouldn't bet the house to move up. In FA get a wide out. You're saying over pay this guy because he's there. Our next JO may be in college right now. Or a guy as good as this guy in the 2nd or 3rd round next year. If we are stuck with him for a few yrs then we are less to find a homegrown LT. The guy was good this yr, not great. KO was injured, Yandall wasn't himself and with a bad center that was physically and mentally overwhelmed, Monroe didn't have to be great to be our best. Keep Monroe at the right price. But if you are telling me is great enough to pay 10 mil a yr then we just disagree. But if we pay him 6 yrs 52 mil, he should be happy to take it. If he morphs into a pro bowler then we got a bargain which is what we wanted from jump.
  20. You think Suggs is about done then? I disagree but it's an understandable thought considering last yrs second half after starting so hot.
  21. I think the Suggs deal is fine. Ozzie doesn't totally ignore the line but we have let guys walk. But he's drafted Oher and Grubbs in the first round. So Ozzie may not see it as top priority but he will address it if he thinks the player is there. The 3rd and 4th rounders outside of KO leave something to be desired. But Ozzie hit on KO. Is Ozzie slipping?i don't know, I'm still in wait and see mode. This is a high pick this yr and it's an important offseason going forward. The draft is stocked. Ozzie hit on Torrey and missed on Sergio so he's been a little erratic. But l will wait before I say he's slipping
  22. Lol! You're probably right. Throwback for me!!! I have Flacco already. Suggs is going to retire a Raven so I'll get one now.
  23. Right the cap went up, but if we just pay the guys we have more money instead of bringing in better guys, what do we have? The same team and we are up against the cap. So there is overpaying because the right guys deserve big money to make us better and a good guy shouldn't get overpaid or we can't get those right guys. That's my deal. Overpay and later you can't improve your team the way you need to. The price is wrong if Monroe expects 10 per. But if there's a guy that is a big time game changer, pony up! I mean we won a SB with Oher but I know than no one on this board would want to pay him 8.5 a yr to stay. We won with him tho. 5 yrs of winning. Monroe was solid but we sure didn't win enough with him. So I'm at 8.5 tops and 9 but I'd be a little disappointed. That's more than fair.
