Secondary With Something to Prove

The Ravens DBs look to repeat their recent success against a talented Bengals passing game.

Following a string of lackluster performances, the Ravens' defensive backfield stepped up last week against the Denver Broncos to limit quarterback Kyle Orton to a 71.0 passer rating.

The unit will have a chance to demonstrate that such an outing was not an anomaly this weekend when Baltimore travels to Cincinnati to face Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer and his stable of talented wideouts.

The Bengals can trot four talented receivers out on the field, and each of them is capable of a big play, something that will test the Ravens' depth.

"They have four wide receivers," said cornerback Frank Walker, who was inactive for the Broncos game. "All of them are notables, and they can all hurt you. And they take pride in it. It's not just a bunch of quiet receivers. They're confident. They're talking and walking."

No Frank Walker was inactive last week because he's been hurting the team by drawing too many defensive interferance calls. What he said about the Bengals is right...Henry gets a deep ball against us every time we play and Chad Johnson completely dominated our defensive backs last time around. Caldwell caught the winning TD....I think Coles is the only one that didn't do anything.

Well Duh!?! No shit they have to prove something.

Orton couldn't or wouldn't throw deep so they weren't exposed as usual. Last week means nothing other than there was good pressure by the Ravens D on the QB.

That's a good sign.

According to Ken Wiman the Ravens are 1-0 without Frank Walker in the lineup.

And thats why Frank Walker was inactive last week, talking up the opposition..They Have Mucho Stinko and the Jail Bird Henry.

Ya know Crav, at the beginning I hated the re-signing of former jail bird Chris Henry, but he has learned from his mistakes from his run ins with law enforcement. Just like Ray Lewis did. Good for both of them.
