Money Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 ...getting really good deals for the most part (not sure about Talib's deal). I know it's a marathon and not a sprint, but our chief competitors are improving quite a bit. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Denver is going to fail epicly. This looks like Lil Danny's spending sprees. Quote

Oldschool739 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Denver's going all in. How much longer before they lose Peyton and have to start over anyway? You saw what happened with the dream team in Philly a few yrs ago.....Too many chiefs and not enough indians, no go !! Quote
thundercleetz Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I don't blame Denver at all for going all-in. They have arguably the great QB in NFL history, who is coming off his best year statistically, for one year two if lucky. They are done when Manning retires regardless. The Pats on the other hand make a typical Pats move. Buy low on a guy who has a good probability of a very high upside. Not much risk taken on with a one-year deal. They paid Revis less than what it would have cost to franchise Talib. Ozzie will make his move. We are definitely getting a WR. And we are sure to be in on other team's cuts. More will come I'm sure. There are just to many new large cogs at once. This kind of thing does not work. I don't blame Denver at all for going all-in. Now you have to throw everything to makeup for his faults. Quote

At the same time the last two years the Broncos have had the best chance at winning the Super Bowl from the on set and they will for the next two years with Manning. Having the best team in the league for four years, if Elway wins one Super Bowl he's considered a genius. He's going directly for a Super Bowl not a dynasty. After that he's going to have to blow it up. Unless Osterweiler becomes something. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 New England still doesn't have anybody for Brady to throw to. The Revis deal was nice though. I wonder why he keeps taking 1 year deals...it's very short sighted on his part. What if he breaks his leg? Quote
cravnravn Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Denver traded for Blaine Gabert, yea they all in. Lol Quote

RavenousBG Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 As everyone is noticing, free agency big spending doesn't usually work. The Redskins do it all of the time and haven't won doing it. It's best to develop your own guys, pay them and grab an FA here and there to patch a hole. Denver is all in and who can blame them but history is against them. Will that team gel this yr? Quote
cravnravn Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Ok so new England overspent for Revis, who's covering the other side of the field...the same thing happened to Revis in Tampa. No supporting cast Quote
RavenousBG Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Revis is about revis and his money. He wants big money everywhere he goes so it's hard to have really good personnel at the other CB spots when one guy is eating 16 mil (TB) or 12 mil (NE) on your cap. Quote

Money Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 You saw what happened with the dream team in Philly a few yrs ago.....Too many chiefs and not enough indians, no go !! I understand why you would bring up the "dream team", but there is really no comparison in my mind. Asomugha was way overrated and Jason Babin was no DeMarcus Ware. T.J. Ward is also an outstanding player (who they got at a terrific price). Michael Vick was obviously no Peyton Manning. The "dream team" label came from Vince freakin' Young for god's sake. Right now, you can look at the additions for Denver (since their Super Bowl appearance) as Ryan Clady (one of the best LTs in football), Dan Koppen (their starting center), Aqib Talib, T. J. Ward and DeMarcus Ware. They will be a team to be reckoned with. I'm also afraid they will be a very attractive option for a player like Daryl Smith who is looking for a ring at this point in his career. Quote

It's hard to pass up. Quote

He was just misused in Philthy the sam eway Revis was in Tampa. Ware is starting to be get injured a fair amount. It is just to many new parts. Quote

Denver is going to have trouble getting everyone on the same page Quote

RavenousBG Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I don't think Asomugha = Revis but he was rightly the next guy behind Revis. But philly tried to ask him to do things that weren't his forte. Denver has paid big money. 3 big name, big money signings. What other teams have changed as much and they may not be done. Reports are that they want D. Smith too. That's 3 big personalities and egos that you have to fit into a locker room. It may not gel. The guys that are already there might even feel like they don't need these 'saviors' to win. But we will see Quote
Money Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 TJ Ward is a great player, but he wasn't big money. All these guys were great fits and filled big needs. Talib's character is obviously a question mark. Anyone else find it comical that Talib now gets unleashed in Colorado? Success is never a sure thing, but I'm not going to write off Denver because they brought in "too many" great players. As far as D. Smith goes...as I wrote before, I'm sure Denver is looking very attractive to him right now. I'm worried. Quote

Had it been say Ware and then a couple of rookies at ttheir respective spots then the rookies have to fit into the pecking order. Also you have to learn the guy next to you. Also I don't think Miller will be playing until oct or nov. Quote
Robjr83 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Heard Wilfork's asking to be released. Crazy offseason so far. Quote
