thesteelhurtin Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Its about his life after football and his brain after death. Will Smith will play the Dr that worked with him before he dead and examined his brqin after. I believe its Dr Omalia or somwthing like that. I'm looking forqard to this movie though I'm sure the NFL is not. Quote
cravnravn Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 No reason to make a movie, we are all aware what roids do to the body and brain, Just look at the obituarys of the 70's steelers and raiders Quote

papasmurfbell Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 He had a brain tumor. That is not CTE. Also he was not even taking roids at that point. He was well past that when he made his comeback. He was taking horse growth hormone or something. Quote

Also the 80s is when steriod usage was at an all time high after being started in the late 50s. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 It was huge in the 70's. The Stealers and Raiders were so roided up it was nuts. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I agree it was everywhere but I have read how the Stealers and Raiders had it going more than most. Also they were the 2 most successful teams of the era says something. Quote

thesteelhurtin Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 Bubba Smith retired before the roid era really took off, he retired in 1976. look im not denying some of the Steelers mainly if not only the offensive line was roiding up but if you think every team didn't have a few juicers you're kidding yourself. The NFL obviously wasn't too concerned since they didn't ban them until when 89 and they was inly because they were pretty much forced to Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Every team did but some much more than others. This is the first link in google when I searched nfl teams 70's steroids.http://bleacherreport.com/articles/232404-the-steelers-steroids-and-profound-misconceptions "It started, really, in Pittsburgh. They got an advantage on a lot of football teams. They were so much stronger (in the) '70s, late '70s, early '80s. They're the ones who kind of started it." - stated HaslettHaslett (an admitted steroid user himself) carries respectable NFL credentials and admits to one year of steroid usage immediately after being drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 1979...not as a Steeler. Haslett further commented:"You had so many people using them because they were legal." Haslett went on to say "that when he played in the NFL, steroid use was rampant because the league had no policy banning such drugs" and he estimated nearly half the players were taking them. (Haslett says '70s Steelers made steroids popular in NFL). The 4th linkhttp://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=fleming/110127 The end of the Steelers' amazing run in the 1970s came a full decade before the NFL banned steroids. Nevertheless, there has been widespread speculation that the first part of the Steelers' dynasty is tainted in some way by the fact that it helped popularize steroid use in the NFL. In the 1991 book "False Glory: The Steve Courson Story," the former Steelers offensive lineman wrote that 75 percent of the offensive linemen on the Steelers' Super Bowl teams in the late 1970s had used steroids.5th articlehttp://sports.espn.go.com/espn/otl/news/story?id=3832996There is no indication that Rydze provided the undetectable performance-enhancing drugs he bought to players. But a number of news reports, player interviews and books have long suggested that the Steelers were among the earlier teams to use steroids, which weren't banned by the NFL until 1989, on a widespread basis. So stop deluding yourself. Quote

Also it started in the 50s and Haslett didnt come to the team until what 79 so how the hell does he know what went on before that. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I never said they broke the rules. Could be that Haslett walks in the door and is told this is how things are kid. When I did the search I was shocked the Raiders didn't pop up. Quote

When I did the search I was shocked the Raiders didn't pop up. The Steelers won more then the Raiders did so they have the bigger target. Athletes are always going to try to gain and edge over their opponent and im sure there are performance enhancing drugs out there rught now the NFL cant detect. PEDs will always be part of the game. papasmurfbell Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I think the HGH test would blow the NFL away if they get the test done. Humans do not look like what most of the guys in the NFL look like normally. Quote

I know medicine has come a long way but the recovery time for some of these players is absurd. They are saying Valesco might be ready foe a team by training camp and he tore his Achilles in week 15.
