varaven45
Which is why you can't sleep on A N Y team in the NFL. We did, at home, no less and it almost cost us. Still, a W is a W and we don't get points for style. 9-5 and still in the hunt .
BallTMore
They did. I think Rossberg left the stadium to celebrate after the punt block. Our special teams looked like they didn't know the other team could onside kick or fake a punt. It was sad.
tsylvester
A few things. When playing a two win team this late in the season you have to put them away early in the game. The Ravens attempted to do just that, calling for a punt block on the 1st defensive series, then going pass happy on the first offensive series after being up 7 because of a special teams score. Unfortunately, they must have forgot that Jacksonvlle knows the Kubs system very, very well (as does the up coming Texans). Couple that with the flat offense and Jax was still around, so naturally they go for an on side kick, a fake punt, taking advantage of an over agressive team, whose players are trying to make stats against a bad team, rather than trying to earn a win. Yes, the special teams blunders didn't help, no points were gained by them, yes, the special teams coach holds some culpability, but Harbs is special teams "guru", his team came out flat, thankfully, the Jags were just bad enough to not be able to take advantage of a pourous secondary of the Ravens....
