millz58 Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5057937 So now St. Louis can go forth with Bradford I guess; where will the mainly-injured Bulger go? I'd hazard a guess but I can't really imagine a place... . Arizona maybe? Quote

papasmurfbell Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 STL will regret drafting Bradford. I do not like either of the projected #1 QB's. Take Sue. He is a stud and I do not think he will bust. Quote
ForceEight Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 STL will regret drafting Bradford. I highly doubt it. Jacksonville, Carolina, and Chicago are probably the most likely destinations for Bulger. Quote
millz58 Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 Jacksonville, Carolina, and Chicago are probably the most likely destinations for Bulger.right, forgot about delhomme and Grossman departing... Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Yeah if they let him by of course they will not regret it. It just seems like they are being pushed into drafting a QB. It happens all the time. The 49ers were trapped into drafting Alex Smith. We got trapped into trading up picking Boller. It happens all the time where teams are trapped into drafting someone. Quote

That's your perception, and I don't personally think it's close to being true. What you call being "pushed into" the number one pick is really either a set of teams pushing Bradford because they want them to take him (thus, the player they covet falls a spot), or, you know, the Rams themselves just actually really like him. Now, explain how we were "pushed" into taking Boller? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 It is more the media that does it. They tried to push Houston into Reggie Bush. They were smart and passed on him. They made the right choice with Williams. Quote
SpearSrai Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Now, explain how we were "pushed" into taking Boller? Brian Billick fell in love with his arm strength? Quote
ForceEight Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Brian Billick fell in love with his arm strength? That's my point. We were not "pushed" into him. We wanted him. Quote
millz58 Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 That's my point. We were not "pushed" into him. We wanted him.Maybe you and Spear have a different "we" in my mind? I agree noone truly is pushed into a bad choice, but some GMs/owners succumb to pressures more easily than others I guess; some are just stubborn, arrogant and/or stupid as well. I can't believe that "we" drafted Boller simply b/c Billick was hooked on him, but sure there must have been some undue influence there. Quote

Drafting Boller had nothing to do with the media or the perception that we needed to draft a quarterback. Boller was drafted because the team (or someone within the team, or whatever) wanted him. papasmurfbell Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I bet Ozzie would say he was pushed into Boller. Quote
millz58 Posted July 2, 2010 Author Posted July 2, 2010 I guess we know now where Bulger went..., to a better place for sure. Quote
