I can't help thinking, though, that on something like American Idol he would get ripped for just singing the song "karoke" style. The arrangement and note-for-note were just mimicking Whitney. He hits notes lots of women can't hit.He didn't sound castrati, but it is freaky how that body (so different from Whitney's) can make the same sounds at the same pitch.
