TBird Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 This article says we're a WR and a secondary guy away from anotherSB but it was written before Torrey and Ngata left. We're still Okwith Ngata gone but need more than 1 receiver now that Torrey isgone and I wouldn't be surprised if Ozzie didn't draft any WRs oruntil the bottom round like last year with Campy. With Ngata gone, it wouldn't surprise me to draft another pass rusherin the first two rounds. WARNING: Flacco is only listed as an average QB. Quote

TBird Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 HARBs will speak to the press at the owners meeting onTues and list these needs for the Ravens. From their site. Tuesday: Ravens coach John Harbaugh will sit down with reporters for an hour, and he'll update where the team stands in free agency. The Ravens still have needs at wide receiver, tight end, cornerback and backup quarterback. Quote
TBird Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 Hey Smurf: Here's you're return guy.Ravens are bringing him in to interview. He'salso a WR but too small to replace Torrey as #2 guy. DeAndre Carter is not a Torrey Smith replacement by any means, however. He’s just simply too small at 5’8″ and 186 pounds, but he does possess the game breaking talent to be a solid kick returner and situational threat on offense. Carter had a very productive college career, racking up 207 receptions for 2760 yards receiving and 35 touchdowns across 41 games. Quote
TBird Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 A lot of guys want Maxx Williams as your TE guy. He'sdropping to bottom of first or down to middle 2d dependingon who you read. Oz could trade down and get him and pick up extra body. Quote
cravnravn Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Article was written 2 weeks after we were eliminated. We are more then 2 players away, losing ngata, mcphee,Daniels, jones cutting pearce that all adds up. Jones was a 2 position guy who was definitely a threat to take one back every time he touched the ball. They were spokes in a very successful wheel we had, Quote

Robjr83 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Maybe because I'm a pessimist but i see this team seems very thin at several positions WR - With an aging Steve Smith, injury prone Camp, and let down 2014 M Brown...this is a huge problem TE- An unproven Gilmore is our #1 RB- Was Forsette a flash in the pan? No really #2 Talifaro and a few journeyman RBs CB- on paper its still solid with Webb,Smith, and Asa... who knows Safety- Lewis is a solid pickup with Hill in the starting backfield.....but no depth past that So many places they need to go..... Maybe a draft day trade to bring in a few vets to add depth Quote
oldno82 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 We're so tight under the cap we don't have room to pay any decent veterans. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 So was Justin a good FA to bring in? What about Daniels? Quote
oldno82 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 This is how much we have under the cap now and it doesn't include two more positions to be added in the calculations later: http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/cap/2015/ Plus, you have to hang on to some of that in case of injuries. This is why I keep beating the cut Gradkowski, Arthur Brown drum. It would free up almost $2 million more. Quote
Robjr83 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Why would you cut a 3rd yr LB? You mean why cut a bum that's wasting a roster spot? Quote
oldno82 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 He's been on the inactive list much too often for being such a high draft pick. We can use every bit of cap space we can get. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 So you think we should have cut Jimmy Smith in his 3rd yr? Quote
OneManCypher Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 what is Arthur Brown's problem? never understood why he can't make it onto the field. Quote
OneManCypher Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 just a thought, trade Arthur Brown for Vernon Davis, Niners need some interior linebacker help and we need a TE. maybe throw in a 4th or 5th Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 I don't think he has value enough to give up anything for him. Someone would sign him they just will wait for him to be cut. Quote

Idk about his signing bonus but his base salary is 4.3 mil. That would be a big hit if he can't get over his injures. Quote
OneManCypher Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 So why can't he make it onto the field, i know he was having problems with the mental part of the game, but after 2 years going on 3 years he should be up to speed ,and if he isn't he is just too stupid to play at this level. Coming out , he looked pretty good in coverage , which is important in this NFL and he's an athletic IBer so whats the deal Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Ok being his 3rd yr lets see if he does have it. Finish out the 3 yr rule. Quote
Robjr83 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 It probably didn't help being overshadowed by a very productive DSmith and rookie Mosley Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 If he can't fight into a LB rotation this season cut ties. Quote
TBird Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 He also can't play special teams which you must under HARBs. I agree with the 3 yr rule. It wouldn't be the first time for a LB. Remember Kindle? LOL Quote
