Walt Harris' 14-year NFL career appears to be nearing its end.

The Ravens cut the 36-year-old cornerback on Friday after he struggled in his return from ACL surgery. No team needs live bodies in the secondary more than Baltimore, so Harris release is a strong statement about his ability to contribute right now.

Harris started his career in Chicago and made a Pro Bowl as a member of the 49ers in 2006. Baltimore has reportedly agreed to terms with undrafted rookie cornerback Chris Hawkins to replace Harris.

god i hope ozzie knows what he's doing.

I wonder if Webb (slow) and F Wash (fast) are recovering more quickly than first thought.

Maybe with the Hawkins and Doug Dutch (aka Yugo) pickup, Ozzie and Co are feeling a bit better about CB.

via facebook- Update: Veteran Walt Harris has not been released. Instead he has been placed on the Training Camp Injured/Reserve list, he is expected to miss 1-2 weeks.

They learned from last year...they should have done this to LJ Smith from the gate.

The guy just cannot get healthy again. He was recovering from his knee injury and then his achilles started to bother him. Lets see how he is in a couple of weeks, maybe he can get back to how he was in the try out. Either way, we need bodies.

I'm so confused!...is he on IR or some kind of wacky training camp version of IR? Help me Tom Cruise!...the NFL and their multitudinous injury lists must die.
