vmax Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 ORCHARD PARK, N.Y — Vontae Davis began Sunday as a defensive back for the Buffalo Bills. He ended the day retired from football, stunning his coaches and teammates by calling it a career in the middle of the game.At halftime, with the Bills trailing 28-6, Davis up and quit. Quit. He wasn’t hurt, he hadn’t been benched by coach Sean McDermott. He just picked up his ball and went home.“Pulled himself out of the game,” McDermott said. “He communicated to us that he was done.” My guess is that he stared at the long season ahead and just felt like he didn't want to suffer any more. First time I have heard of something like this.At least he's honest and didn't want to steal a paycheck. Quote
tsylvester Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Finish the game out, for your teammates if anything. I get his heart was not in it any longer, but play the game out! Geesh.. Quote
