His 0-for-38 streak dating back to last season leaves him just 11 outs away from tying the worst slump in MLB history. Former San Francisco Giants infielder Eugenio Velez went 46 straight at bats without a hit bridging the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Quote
vmax Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Perhaps if he took a walk in the woods to collect his thoughts.......... Quote
vmax Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 He did it!He set a new MLB record! The Orioles first baseman went hitless in his first three at-bats against the Athletics and is now 0-for-47 at the plate dating back to September 14, 2018. He's hitless in 26 at-bats this season. With that, Davis broke the record for consecutive hitless at-bats by a non-pitcher. Eugenio Velez also went hitless in 46 straight at-bats with the Giants and Dodgers from 2010-11........https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/chris-davis-breaks-mlb-record-for-at-bats-without-a-hit/ar-BBVK3ey?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=U508DHP Over the years the Orioles pride themselves on getting into the record books with these kinds of accomplishments.
