oldno82
Trace would not even slide through waivers to get the PS. I agree. He showed too much talent and leadership.
tsylvester
A pretty well played game, even with some stupid coaching moves. Why, why risk a guy with a bad foot on punt return in the 4th preseason game? Thankfully he didn't get hurt but also showed he can't return punts. Trace looked very good, which is what you want against players who won't be on rosters next week. The middle backers really worry me, they still bite hard on play action, they appear to have no instincts at all for neither play calling nor routes. Constantly in the wrong lane when in zone allowing easy big plays behind them. The reserve dbs, brother if they have to play, this defense is in trouble, they can't cover. The defensive line is once again deep & good. They need to be because this secondary is going to nee them to collapse that pocket and force quick short throws. oldno82
Good synopsis. We'll soon see how they good are when they travel down to Miami. 'Course the Dolphins ain't the Browns either.
papasmurfbell
Mia is not the test. Week 3 the tests begin.
oldno82
Well, if they lose to Miami we’ll know it’s going to be a long season so it is a test just not the semester exam.
papasmurfbell
Yeah if they lose to the little sisters of the poor the season ended week 1. Fire harbs by the end of Oct so he can't squeeze another one out late when it means nothing.
tsylvester
If Fitz gets time he can tear apart any secondary. Fitz gets hot there is not stopping him. Sure, their line is a bit weak, their defense not as strong, but the Ravens offensive line is still a question mark, the defensive line yet to provide consistant pressure without blitzing. Yes, it is a test..

Didn’t they learn that lesson from the Webb fiasco??? Brown doesn’t have the frame needed for returns. He’ll have a hard enough time trying to stay healthy as a WR. As for the defense, I think sure the D dropped a couple of notches by not replacing the experience Weddle and Suggs gave them but they’d be good enough for playoffs first round or two. They do need help on the Defense but that’s gonna be Eric’s task for next y.ear. This year they went all in for the offense and that was priority 1. We hopefully now have a group of young, fast, playmakers there. It only took 7 years.
papasmurfbell
I think they were looking for someting similar to Antonio.
tsylvester
I don't think he will be as durable as his cousin....
papasmurfbell
That could very well be true. I would not have doen it. Maybe in a yr or two after he is going good then he can pick up more responsibilty.
tsylvester
His body looks like it can't handle much of the punishment to me... Also, the team has never developed a wide out so while I hope I am wrong, but he is likely to be a bust...
oldno82
I’m not anywhere near ready to.label Brown a probable bust but as I said, don’t take stupid risks with a small WR. I hate when they do stupid things like that.
papasmurfbell
Not even close to that. He needs time to play. They knew he was hurt before the draft. They are just being careful wth him. Alos after the first couple yrs he will put on weight.
