vmax
Ross Tucker thinks it will be crappy in September... The good news is that the NFL lockout is finally, mercifully, over. The bad news is that we are headed toward the worst season -- or, at a minimum, the worst September -- of on-field NFL action (excluding the replacement players of 1987, of course) most people have ever seen. A drop-off in quality is an unfortunate byproduct of the lockout, but it is also inevitable because of the relative lack of practice time teams have this year as compared to others. In previous campaigns, teams had three separate and distinct opportunities to install their offensive and defensive packages. This year, that's just not feasible. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6802711/nfl-football-september-pretty It's a good article that lays out how shaky the 1st month of the season may be. cravnravn
Not in this day and age, in 1987 players had to moonlight and get 2nd jobs in the off season. Today with the money on the line, football is a year long job, if you're not on the field you're in the weight room...
papasmurfbell
I agree. They will come out looking rusty. Not enough practice this off season.
