AFC Defensive Player of the Week

In Jarret Johnson’s nine years in the NFL, he’s never won an award.

That finally came to an end Tuesday, as the outside linebacker was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week after yet another gritty performance in the Ravens’ dominant 34-17 win over the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football.

Johnson returned a fumble 26 yards for a touchdown, had two quarterback hits and three tackles (including one for a minus three yards).

But what the Ravens’ Iron Man, who has played in 117 consecutive games, does for the Ravens’ defense doesn’t always show up in the box score, or get recognized.
