Ali's tape is a fun watch. He's a loose-limbed runner with a blend of instincts and agility that create an admirable rate of consistency relative to the inconsistency of the blocking in front of him. He does a nice job of reading his blocks and shifting speeds to get where he needs to go, but his wiggle and run strength are just average by NFL standards. Ali doesn't appear to have enough acceleration or speed to rush away from speedy defenders, but he is a natural one-cut back. His touchdown production and third-down ability could improve his chances of finding work as an RB3

Not sure I understand this pick, not fast, not much power, and a torn biceps too boot.

Surely there were healthier, faster, or power runners left, even in the 5th...

Walker had 12 drops last season. His drop rate is 8.5%. He's pretty solid otherwise but I'm still wary because of the Perryman fiasco.

He is no Perryman, while he does need to work on his hands, alot of those drops were from him trying to do too much after the NCAA, suspended him for some bogus reason about transferring.

His speed, likely our kickoff return guy, will open up the field.

6th round, Camp arm, Devin Leary, qb, Kentucky

Family member on staff? Why draft a guy who was likely to go undrafted?  Members, no biggie

2018 (N.C. State): Redshirted. 2019 (N.C. State): Started 5 of 8 games played (101-210-48.1, 1,219 yards, 8 TDs, 5 INTs).  2020 (N.C. State): Started 3 of 4 games played (66-110-60.0, 890 yards, 8 TDs, 2 INTs). Missed the opener because of COVID-19 protocols. Missed the end of the season with a fractured left fibula.  2021 (N.C. State): Ranked 10th in the FBS with 35 passing TDs, a school single-season record. Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award finalist. Started all 12 games (283-431-65.7, 3,433 yards, 5 INTs).   2022 (N.C. State): Started the first 6 games (118-193-61.1, 1,265 yards, 11 TDs, 4 INTs passing; 3 rushing TDs). Missed the second half of the season with a torn right pectoral muscle.  2023: Started all 13 games (209-371-56.3, 2,746 yards, 25 TDs, 12 INTs; rushing TD). Writes with his left hand but learned to throw a ball with his right because he used his brother's right-handed baseball glove as a kid. Brother, Donovan, plays QB at Illinois.

They need him to be solid. We've drafted injured guys before who haven't ever played up to their scouting reports before they were hurt.
