Im not sure who the Ravens can bring in, but they have to do something. There is more wromg than just the communication issue between the players. There is clearly a communication issue betwen the players and the coaches.

You don't forget how to cover, let us start there. Yes, a lot of the plays are comimg on incredible throws and catches. I think the commentators even mentioned that the Ravens lead the league defensively on tight windows.

Even so, they must lead the league in wide open receivers too.

Some of the issues fall on the defensive line, the pass rush. There is very little of it without blitzing, even then, it often fails. This leads to having to cover, longer.

I will say that I have noticed guys, corners, when they have coverage over the top, and a receiver is on am in breaking route, they stay in trail position rather than undercutting a route. By undercutting, you make the throw harder and, get a real good chance of an interception, not that they would catch it....mm

Now the lack of pass rush, very few stunts, some of that is because of the qbs that they have faced: running ones where you want to keep lane integrity.

The few times they did use stunts today, aginst the Browns, resulted sacks, pressures that resulted in incomplete passes. Why not more? Winston was not going to run....

Orr has said he relies on Pees so they brought Pees in, guess what?

Under Pees, we saw many of the same issues we see today under Orr, who leans on Pees. So clearly, Pees is not helping.

Harbs pointed to the 6 straight defensive stops against the Bucs as to proof the defense is not as bad as it appears. That they dropped a pick or two and that would have lead to less yards for the Bucs.

Well, today, they dropped 3 and all 3 lead to scores, the last one to a game winning score.

No coach, those 6 straight were an abirition, helped by 1 player catching a pick thrown right to him on one drive, a lucky one on another.

This defense has missed more tackles than any Ravens defense has in the past, even more than the horrible 96/97 Ravens defense, go watch the tape coach to see how bad this defense is playing.

It isnt the loss of Queen, Stone. Nor is it the loss Mike Mac, but of the other coaches who also left.

It is who ever decided that Jackson was a viable safety, who coach? He can't cover, can't tackle, can't catch. Just who decided to sign him?

Who brought in the positional coaches that have players playing incorrectly? Have them reaching for tackles that they miss because they are out of position?

On a day when the offense could not do much right, against an offense with a qb who has not played in over a year and is mistake prone. With a make shift line. This defense should have gorged, instead they dis not chew their food, they choked.

This is clesrly too much for Orr and, clearly his positional coaches as well.

We have 1 safety who doesn’t want to play.  At least stone has ball skills.  The rest of the d funneled attempts into his area and he took advantage.

I did say brain drain was an issue a while back.

at most they can make 2 moves.  I don’t think it is enough.

Not impressed with Orr/Pees and whoever else is coaching our defense. Would like to see Pees cut loose and someone stronger brought in. Question is, who's is available?

...and lets not forget we have 4 injured non-playing players on D today: Humphrey, Wiggins, Urban, and Pierce with the last two getting hurt in this game fairly early.

Investing move benching Williams and not Jackson, especially after both Harbs and Orr praised him earlier this week.

For him, it mattered not, he still got paid and the defense was actually worse in every sense.

This defense is at a cross roads,, to coin a phrase I used for the team once upon a time, then they went on a run, so it goes.

The players know the problems, they know who can and cannot play. I'm not sure that there is a safety out there worth trading for, Cisco from Jax, maybe, but then, if the communication is the main issue, will bringing someone else in, player wise, make a difference?

Actually Stone, as good as he was, often broke coverage, something that while it worked, mostly because of the pass rush, ticked off the coaches. Humph talked a lot about that on his pod cast over the summer.

While he is currently hurt in Cinci, was not having the same type of season any way

I never expected stone to recreate it without the talent around him.

as a fix safety but high priced baker out in zona.  He and Hamilton could do cool stuff together.

Baker would be nice, but Zona won again and that div is a mess. I doubt they trade him now.

There is nothing the team can do coach wise, for the defense without changing the system. That will have to wait until the season is over.

Ojaba was a healthy scratch so I wonder if they will try to help the secondary by getting a pass rusher
