What worries me most is the defense, the pass defense to be exact.

They haven't really played a very good offense, pass offense since the "change".

Granted, a large part of the pass defense issues was against one team, the Bengals, almost 900 yards in one month. (392+428=820) That really skews the numbers.

So, is it really fixed or has it just been a tale of bad passing offenses?

Early in the season the ball bounced away from the Ravens, while this last part, wow, the Ravens fumble and recover their own. Their opponents fumble now they recover them.

Even Tucker is nailing 58 yard field goals with ease, dead center, after not being able to make an extra point.

It has been a crazy season, so why not us?

They'll certainly be tested in the playoffs. Hoping it's not another one and done (granted, last year was two and done), but you're right. I think the pass defense is still suspect. I hope they prove me wrong.

Agree with both.  Add in the pass rush being 23rd in rate it doesn’t help the dbs.
the crying by ravens fans on these last 3 games was ridiculous.  We are in a better place health wise than hou and Pitt.  They didn’t do well there.
I just see the regular choke fest in the high leverage games coming.  Lamar making a bad decision but these teams being able to capitalize on it.

Could be papa, but the Pit game may have shown us something. They, Lamar included, just let it all out, played more relaxed, trusted one another more, the result?

The "ball bounced their way", turnovers were avoided or collected when usually the other team got those breaks.

Lamar got on point, ran when given the chance, connected when he had or made just enough time.

If they play that way, and everything we have seen the past number of games shows us they can/will, then I like their chances.

Shoot, they destroyed Buffalo, one toe away from beating the Cheifs. Should have beaten the Iggles, seem to have learned from their mistakes.

Didn't play down to the Giants, werent tight against Pit, didn't lean on their big victory over Pit and have a let down against Houston.

Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket

Did he not throw a oick in Batman’s direction with a wide open flower waving for the ball?  I’ve seen that to damned often and am expecting it more in Jan.

they did play down to start the ny game.  That game could have been over in the 1st but wasn’t.

toe?  Wasn’t that pass late?  Also the previous 2 plays were late and then to the wrong guy.  I remember these things and do not fall for pundantry propanda.

To be fair, he had Queen in his face (leaping up) and the first read was in fact Bateman, as to why he failed to see Flowers wide open in the left endzone.

Lamar has explained this, he thought they were in man, Bateman thought zone. Simple, every qb and wr have had this from time time.

I've seen game where Allen has missed wide open wrs in the end zone, by miss i mean, completely saw them and threw it far away from them

Ok.  But Allan has less talent around him this yr compared to last and he is playing far and away better.  Lamar has more talent around him and is about the same.  And I always do the take that guy off the roster and switch him with his peer and ask who performs better with the new cast.  Lamar sure as hell doesn’t have 15 win in kc.  Pat would have more than 11 here.

I disagree with this. Most of the Ravens' losses can be chalked up to the defense and/or Tucker. Unless Patrick Mahomes is playing on those units, he would have, at most, the same number of wins here.

That is the exciting part of this season, when this team plays together, in sinc (in rythem not the group) no one can best them. Several coaches, ex coaches have said this- this year about the Ravens.

Where will it lead? Hmmm, the offense this year is better than last year, but the defense, even at its best this year, is just not as dependable as last year's team.

But Kc, Buffalo, Pitt, Houston, all have bigger issues than the Ravens.

But I think pat would have scored tds and not needed the kicker.  Also getting 7 instead of 3 gets you that 1 point win instead of the 3 pt loss.

I don’t think it’s as hard to d up this offense as they make it.  You have to be able to rush 4 with disciplined rush lanes that keep Lamar in the pocket.  While at it they have to impact Henry early to disrupt his momentum.  Use you pass d take away the short and intermediate middle.  Also keep the short outside locked down.  Only give Lamar the deep outside to throw to and he will self destruct.

Mahomes had six touchdowns in September and two in October, including two games with no touchdowns. Jackson had five touchdowns in September and 12 in October. Mahomes wasn't exactly lighting it up at the beginning of the year. He has 26 touchdowns this season compared to Jackson's 39. The total yardage is close, but Jackson has the higher total. Mahomes also has 11 INTs to Jackson's four. If you want to say Josh Allen would have more wins in Baltimore, that's one thing, but Mahomes wouldn't. Aside from his rookie year, Mahomes has notched the lowest QBR of his career this season and last. The Chiefs have been the luckiest team this season, and I refuse to believe Mahomes would be better than Jackson if they swapped teams.

And you believe kc with all their injuries at skill positions are more talented than what Lamar has had all season?  You are actually proving my point.  Pat has done with far less more to drag that roster forward to the best record in the game while Lamar with a much better roster has about a 66% win rate.  I don’t see Pat allowing his team to be taken by some crap team?  Where is his embarrassing losses?

Using real stats to project a hypothetical team swap is a fruitless point.

lol.

Prior to this week, KC had a grand total of three offensive players on their injury reports compared to Baltimore’s two. But since those are numbers, that had no bearing on anything either, especially since it negates your argument.

But, whatever you say, papa. You can’t refute the facts and numbers so now they don’t matter. Got it.

But the point is in the hypothetical team switch those numbers would be completely different.  Kelce has had a down yr.  Obviously mahomes #1 target.  Likely in this season is playing better.  Rice who would best equate to flowers has been out all season.  Moore who equates to Bateman gone all yr.  Hollywood has been back what 2 weeks?  No chemistry yet.  Henry hill and Ali are way better than what has been in kc.  The ravens ol has been much more solid than kc.  I think kc is on their 3rd lt for the season.

with all that please explain how Lamar would even be within 1000 yds of his passing numbers now.  On the kc roster from the end of last season to now with everything else on that chiefs roster still happening the same Lamar has at best 2500 yds 20 tds and at least 10 picks.
Throw Pat over here at this point he either has 5000 yds or is in striking distance of it.  He very well could be going for manning td record.  He probably has about the same picks.

This is way, way too hypothetical to guess at. Who can say what Lamar would do with KC and Mahomes with the Ravens this year.

Why can't we just say Mahomes had an off year for some reasons beyond and within his control and Lamar is posting MVP numbers with the team he has.

It's just the way football works, a team sport, works.

Who's to say how good Unitas would have been without Ameche, Berry and Moore and a stellar defense? It's all too speculative to say with any certainty.

That is how you can equate them.  With all the other parts devising what levels guys are at is impossible.

btw joash Allan had so many more yds and tds last yr compared to Lamar.  The issue was that raven won the top seed so convincingly that that Lamar got the mvp.  Interesting how that same narrative isn’t playing out this yr.

Sure it is papa, most of the talking ass hats are saying Josh won, been saying it for weeks and all because of his team's record. 2 game difference, but guess what?

The Ravens played a harder schedule, just by their division alone. The Bills played the Jets and Pats twice, how nice for his stats.

Look, I do agree, these talking heads mess things up all of the time and this year, Josh will win, maybe even should win, but Lamar has clearly played better.
