tsylvester Posted Wednesday at 11:54 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 11:54 PM It's Todd Heap all over again. Great player who went above and beyond, a true Raven on and off of the field. But eventually father time and the cap catch up. They will save what, 10, 11 mil with a cut or trade, small dead cap hit, but let him play out his last 2 3 years at most, out West Quote

I guess I do feel a loyalty to Andrews since he's been a big contributor to Lamar's growth as a passer. Maybe it's because I'm old that I feel like he's being thrown on the scrap heap because of his age when he's still productive. Likely is the safest option if it comes down to a choice between the two from a GM's perspective. Hunter is out of his mind. There is no way they can keep both in 26. A choice must be made. I will side with the guy who produces is the playoffs and will be cheaper than the older guy. All these players are cogs. Perform or be gone. hunter is not going to forgo a career. I just think he wants this known that he will not be shorted when he plays. If he is a top 5 corner and a superstar #3 wr he will get paid so much. It could outpace the qb market. Quote

That is well worth the move. Quote
tsylvester Posted Thursday at 04:28 PM Author Posted Thursday at 04:28 PM Would you trade Andrews & a late pick to Miami for Ramsey? Redo his deal to make it cap friendly? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted Thursday at 06:57 PM Posted Thursday at 06:57 PM Nope. I am souring on Ramsey. Quote
tsylvester Posted Thursday at 07:36 PM Author Posted Thursday at 07:36 PM I agree, big pay, big attitude at his age that spells trouble Quote
oldno82 Posted Thursday at 09:20 PM Posted Thursday at 09:20 PM I wouldn't make that deal. I did have some good feelings about using Mark to move up in the draft. Quote
tsylvester Posted Thursday at 11:37 PM Author Posted Thursday at 11:37 PM I just hope they don't move back Quote
oldno82 Posted yesterday at 03:56 AM Posted yesterday at 03:56 AM No I'd hate to see them move down. They already have 11 picks in this draft. Dropping lower would be a mistake. Crap, they're already down there at 27. I could only see doing it if they had a choice of 3 blue chip players at positions of need. Then maybe they could drop down 1 or 2 spots only. That is a highly unlikely scenario. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted yesterday at 05:24 AM Posted yesterday at 05:24 AM Unless the drop down and pick up another 1st in 26. Hypothetical here. The giants want to jump back into the 1st to grab dart. They give up their 2nd pick this year and we take their 26 first pick. I fully expect them to be a top 5 picking team next yr so I would love that pick. Quote
oldno82 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Papa I'm confused...the Giants only have one first round pick this year. Are you saying we'll move down into the second round to get their 2026 1st and their 2025 2nd and we'd have no first round pick? Depending on who's still available at 27 this year, that could be a possibility but it is somewhat risky because we give up a first rounder this year who'd have a 5th year option. If that is what you're suggesting though it does bear watching I'd say. Quote

I will take that top 5 picking team in 26 and our first round that yr in a heartbeat. Quote
tsylvester Posted 12 hours ago Author Posted 12 hours ago Na, stick at 27, why risk losing a potentially key player hoping he will be around a few picks later or even further down when the Ravens pick in the 2nd. At 27, it is just like picking at the top of the 2nd. So you "reach" by a few picks, no biggie. Take what you need when he is there, why pay for a top 5 pick next year? What potential player next year will this team "need" that badly? A qb? Nope, a wr? Not likely even an offensive tackle, not sure they are worth a top 5 pick Quote
papasmurfbell Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago This team will be partly hollowed via the cap next yr. A cheap high pick that can be dynamic would be a great way to retool. Maybe the best passrusher in the draft next yr at 5. I would like to have our boller for Wilson and wilfork moment. Quote
