ForceEight Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Team owner Woody Johnson has stated clearly that he wants Brett Favre to be the New York Jets' quarterback next season, but some players seem to be bristling at the thought. Days after the Jets' 1-4 finish left them out of the playoffs and helped trigger Eric Mangini's firing as coach, running back Thomas Jones blasted Favre's final-game performance and seemed to suggest the QB's play -- nine interceptions and only two touchdown passes in the final five games -- called for his benching. "We're a team and we win together ... but at the same time, you can't turn the ball over and expect to win," Jones said in an interview Tuesday with New York Hot 97 FM. Favre threw three interceptions in the Jets' season-ending 24-17 loss to Miami that clinched the AFC East for the Dolphins.http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3804004 Quote
Keveeno Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Its about time players stepped up. Brett's a good player, good heart, but so was Kyle. Inconsisstency and age will play in this and I hope that Favre does nooot come back next year. Quote
vmax Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Time for Bret to hang it up. You can't win with him. He kills his team. Stat of the Week No. 9 In Brett Favre's first four games with the Jets, he threw 12 touchdown passes and four interceptions. For the remainder of the season, he threw 10 touchdown passes and 18 interceptions. Favre's final pass for Green Bay was an interception. His second-to-last pass for Jersey/B was an interception. And on his final play, Favre threw an illegal forward pass nullified by a penalty. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...terbrook/081230 Quote
BengalBilly Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Time for Bret to hang it up. You can't win with him. He kills his team. I agree. He had an excellent and long run as a NFL QB, but now he's an INT throwing machine. Many NY Jet players aren't too enthused about him at the moment. Quote

Thomas Jones was talkin about Favre on radio this morning. but i agree you can let him throw so many interceptions with out taking him out. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Brett is garbage. He is so selfish. I am glad he has been exposed. I hope he comes back again and stinks the place up again. Quote
Spen Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Favre's final pass for Green Bay was an interception. His second-to-last pass for Jersey/B was an interception. And on his final play, Favre threw an illegal forward pass nullified by a penalty. So did that penalty nullify the entire play, wiping out the completed legal pass? Quote
