Yeah, I understand the feeling, And I wouldn't want the franchise to mortgage its future to retain him.

Maybe he'll love playing for Minter and won't want to kill the golden goose. But I have my doubts.

The Ravens have a new head coach in Jesse Minter, and a new offensive coordinator in Declan Doyle, and quarterback Lamar Jackson says opposing defenses don’t know what’s going to hit them when the season starts.

Jackson told Adam Schein that he’s excited to unleash an offense that hasn’t been seen before.

“I just can’t wait to showcase it,” Jackson said. “I don’t believe a defense is prepared for what’s in store for them.”

Doyle was the Bears’ offensive coordinator last year, but in Chicago, head coach Ben Johnson implements the offensive system and calls the plays. Minter has a defensive background, and this is Doyle’s first opportunity to run an offense. Jackson said it’s an exciting scheme.

“It’s a lot of moving parts, it’s guys flying around,” Jackson said. “Everything you need in an offense, play action, dropbacks, run game, everything you need in an offensive system.”

Jackson didn’t play at all in the preseason, so we haven’t seen what the new offense looks like in his hands. We’ll see it in Indianapolis next Sunday, when the Ravens open the regular season against the Colts.

He will want to reset the market.  He ain’t worth it.  If they do something stupid like 5hat we will be a back third team in 4 yrs and no ring to make it worth it.

All we can do as fans is ride with the situation this season and hopefully enjoy what the new coaching staff and personnel, especially the rookies, can accomplish.

I'm team Fagnano...Love Lamar and his talent, but his underlying selfishness will always annoy me.

Dude possesses generational wealth.  Fuck him.

The problem is: anyone can look good in the preseason. Yes, our defense looked great, but look who they faced at qb!

So we stay with Nano, if he doesnt pan out, we are set back five years. Gone are the days when your defense can consistently hold teams under 15 pts. Gone are the days of Trent Dilfer qbs winning the Super Bowl thanks to an historic defense.

Here to stay are the days when it take a qb who is tops, who gets $40-60 mil per. Sure, you can get by on a rookie deal for a bit. Get lucky and win one during that span, then what? Get rid of him ala Dilfer, and start over? We saw how that went, with an historic defense.

Pay Lamar, we can win with him with a decent line and an above average defense. Not an historic one
