I did not expect Mckinnie to get pushed out of the picture this fast. Is Oher really a better LT that Bryant at this point? Quote
oldno82 Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I don't know why they did this at this point...I think Osemele has a ton of potential and is already pretty good but the team seemed to be functioning very well with McKinnie at LT during the preseason. Moving these guys all around ALL the time isn't a great idea for building line chemistry. Ohrer didn't really show me as much as McKinnie did at the left tackle spot in preseason. Quote
yagersports Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 This seems rather ridiculous this late in the game. Maybe the coaching staff is seeing something that we're not. Does Cinci have some really fast rush ends? That's the only thing that I could think of that would bring this on. Perhaps there's a matchup situation that doesn't favor McKinnie???? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Maybe they are giving the former Bungle a chance to see his old team. Quote
oldno82 Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Doesn't make sense to me, either. Another thing that puzzles and pisses me off, is they want to use Webb as their 2nd punt returner. Didn't they learn the lesson as to how valuable this guy is in the secondary? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I didn't say that. I am just trying to guess why. Quote

Yes the Bengals have speed at defensive end, the Ravens are running an uptempo no huddle offense (they aren't playing around). Oher and K.O. at the tackle positions allows them to run it full throttle, McKinnie at this stage doesn't quite allow them to do that. You guys have to stop thinking about what Oher did at LT in 2010, this is not your regular Ravens offense they are running. Preseason was a taste of what they are planning to do, McKinnie can handle the preseason no huddle tempo but clearly they don't think he can handle what will come in the regular season. Hopefully after Monday night you guys will have one of those "I see what they are doing now" moments and stop worrying so much. Quote
thundercleetz Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Maybe McKinney simply isn't in the shape we want him to be in for us to run the no huddle. Sure, he might hold up on paper better against the Bengals pass rush, but we all know when the big guy gets tired he gets very SLOPPY! Quote
yagersports Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Watching the Pitt game last night. The lineman that were overweight were absolutely gased with the No Huddle offense. Peyton kept Casey Hampton off the field for most of the night. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 Oher looked much improved at LT Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Basically Bryant is being paid like a backup so he will be one now. Quote
yagersports Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Oher looked really good at LT. The offensive line in general looked very good. I love Flacco's release, it's definitely much improved. Very quick. I wonder how much Caldwell had to do with this. This Ravens team reminds me of the Packers team a couple of years ago. Their defense wasn't good, but they were opportunistic with a lead and the offense was very good at getting them that lead. Quote
