Toss Monken under the bus but not the real big issue; the defensive coordinator. The offense, scheme, is fine, top 3 last year, on pace for that this year. Execution is the issue; the line mostly. I suppose one could say the same about the defense except it was an issue last too...
-
So, an offensive minded coach, successful coordinator or a defensive one? I would hate to lose Monken, wouldn't mind him interim head coach this year, but noting term. Someone to clean house on the defensive coaching staff, special teams and training staff. The injuries keep happening, muscle, so someone is doing something wrong. This defense did get better last year but as I said last year, not playing the Bengals every other week will make your pass defense look much much better. Since the defense is even worse this year, clearly, the coaching staff is the issue.
-
Humphrey out at least the next 2 games with a calf injury.
-
Yeah and Washington placed on IR, out for 4 games.....
-
They aren't making the playoffs now. I would feel differently had they lost fighting, as I've said, 1-3 can be overcome. But the way they played, nope, this team is done. Oh they will go through the motions to avoid injury or to fulfill a contract. But just like that pass Flowers caught in the 3rd along the sidelines on 4th and 3; oops, did I do that? They may win 5, 6 games now just because... but they will lose the next 2 weeks as Lamar sits out with a hamstring injury. After the bye, eak out a few wins...
-
A good, thorough look at the make up of the team would show that injuries are not the cause of the ineptitude, apathy of some of the players, several, top paid "leaders". The drafting of injured unproven players at position of need. The signing of aging, injured or injury riddled players. All of whom do not live up to even the minimum contract. The continued in game, piss poor, in game management, the terrible play in the post season even when fully healthy. Yes, this and more all add up to coaching. I would love to know if 3 players on the same team ever had the same injury occur in game, hamstring most especially? I suppose we will never know that answer. I do agree, the Biscuit is not likely to make a move, yet, sadly.
-
I wonder if the Biscuit could lure Jordan Hudson, I mean Billy B away from his failed NC team?
-
I suppose this is the only question left to settle, top 5, top 10, top 15? We know they will need a left tackle, a really good one. Likely a guard as well because frankly neither guard is panning out, really disappointed in Vorhees. Need an edge rusher and some big phat boys for the defensive line. Maybe even an inside backer, while Buchanan is still raw, he doesn't show much game intelligence and he has poor speed to cover. I suppose a lot will have to depend on who the coach is? Can we get one of them in the draft?
-
Maybe, but I think he is just focused on keeping his eyes down field to throw. What was up the the line blocking? Your man doesn't rush hard so you ignore him and help block someone else. As soon as you do, your man rushes.... That happened most of the first half, that is coaching. All of these hamstring injuries, if trueare on the training staff and coaches. Heads need to roll
-
Because he is running carefully, rather than with reckless abandoned. He takes so long to decide to run, defenses have time to react so he cant just turn on the jets. Even that 3rd and 11 run made where he had to dive at the sidelines, he ran half speed. I'm not buying he has a hamstring injury, too many of those in this game, that is far from normal. Hurt his shoulder on that hit he took? Sure, not his hammy.
-
VanNoy had a very exaggerated long hug with Reid after the game. I wonder, was he pushing for a trade?
-
I don't think he has lost a step, I think he is not running at full speed on purpose
-
Flowers just clearly purposefully dropped the ball
-
Wiggins looks like he is done for the year, shoulder, elbow, both, who knows
-
Same surgery repaired ankle, for him. The others are "hamstring" may as well be backs... Ali knows how to field kickoffs he clearly sees that this team has quit
-
To have that conversation that papa has wanted for a few years now. I've watched a lot of football in my 59 years, I've seen teams quit on their coach. Quite frankly, I have to really test my memory banks to recall a game where so many players were "hurt" in one game. Now, Lamar supposedly hurt his wittle weg. Yes, I'm going to say it, this team quit today. Lamar checked out long before this supposed hamstring injury he has joe with a full 4th quarter left to play. I don't know what happened before this week, during this week, prior to the game, after the 1st series, but this team, offense, defense, Lamar, quit. 1-3 is no big deal with 17 games to play in a season. It used to be a death nail with 12, 14 and even 16 game seasons, but that extra game means it is possible. But not when your team clearly quits, not after a game, not late in a game, in the 1st freaking quarter. Now they want to get Henry hurt, oy. Rush throws it away on 4th and 2, need any more proof that this team has quit? Fire Harbs, on the plane, on the way home
-
Put the back up quarterback in, what do you have to lose? I bet he gives a better effort Half the defense is now OUT
-
It is complete, we have thr new butt fumble
-
At least throw the ball in the middle where ya know, your favorite target is who specializes in contested catches, Hopkins, has 1 on one coverage because of the Safety Blitz The middle is wide open on that play, what a freaking bone head
-
4 mins left in the 1st half Kickoff is to the 1, Hill returns it to the 31 Quick pass to the flat is lazy and too low for even a worm to catch 2nd and 10 Screen pass to Henry is lazy and tipped away Stanley is out, Noteboom in for him Humphry out Lamar takes off at half speed, gives a half assed wiggle gets 9 4th and a long 1 Going for it Blitz, line acts as if it were a screen, let's everyone in, Lamar throws it away. Not too someone, away, out of bounds, down field, ya know like he should have done last series on 2nd 6, instead of taking a 15 yard sack Forget it folks this game is over, Lamar clearly has something wrong with him ever since the 1st series, ever since that horrible pick he threw
-
End around to Worthy, no one home, Owe doesnt hold the edge, runs for 30 Run up the middle for 4 Pass to Kelsey on a crossing route to the 6 Hunt up the middle for 1 The rookie Buchanan is filling the same holes as Roquan Pass to Shuster Smith for a touchdown 13-7 Kc Lamar has personally left this team behind in the last 2 series, can he get his ass out of his head?
-
58 yard punt, no hang time allows for a solid return to mid field. So, 1 piss poor int, 2 delay of game penalties, a lackadaisical attitude in the pocket leads to another series that was moving forward with ease stopped because of Lamar
-
Hill returns it to the 26, holding on the Ravens, Walker, backs them up.. From the 15 Henry to the left for 11, they are run blitzing hard, if he gets through, he will be gone Inverted wishbone Delay of game Screen for Henry doesn't get as much as it should/could have Gain of 10 Flag again Delay of game again oy vey Lamar makes another bone headed move, pressured, floats back, intentional grounding 3rd and 26 Screen to Hill gets 11
-
Real nice goal line stand, the defensive line got timely pressure on the pocket while the 2ndary gave them time to do so
-
From the KC 15 Mahomes scrambles for 2 Going deep to Worthy who beat Humphrey, to the Ravens 46 Again to Worthy, Wiggins had tight coverage, incomplete Under a 1 in the 1st quarter Tunnel screen to Kelsey for 7 End of quarter 3rd and 3 Hunt to the right for 2 4th and 1 Hunt up the middle for 4 Backers both took the wrong hole Slant to Brown for 18 to the 16 of the Ravens Run to the left for 2 Mahomes forced to flee up the middle for 4 3rd and 4 Pass short left wide open for 6 From the 5 Green makes a nice play to tackle Mahomes in the backfield, stopped a pitch Good coverage, pressure collapsing the pocket Mahomes has to throw it away 3rd and goal Mahomes floats to the back of the endzone, no one open Field goal time 7-6 Ravens 10 mins left in the half
