https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/tyler-loop-rhythm-rookie-minicamp-john-harbaugh-justin-tucker The sound of Tyler Loop kicking a football is now a part of Ravens practices, perhaps for years to come. Head Coach John Harbaugh, who had never seen Loop kick in person before the draft, liked what he saw and heard at rookie minicamp. "It was good to see it. It was good to hear it," Harbaugh said. "I think as much as anything, it's good to hear a kicker, and the way the ball comes off his foot is impressive." Loop impressed the Ravens enough to select him in the sixth round, the first kicker drafted in franchise history. He's under the microscope even more after the release of Justin Tucker on Monday, but performing under pressure is part of any successful NFL kicker's DNA. Loop sounded prepared to handle expectations during his post-draft zoom press conference. He had a hunch the Ravens might draft him after meeting with Senior Special Teams Coach Randy Brown at the NFL kicker's dna. "We got to chat a bunch and got to exchange film and just talk about that," Loop said. "The moment that I was like, 'Alright, hey, I think we're going to end up at Baltimore,' was right after the Patriots took 'Andy' (kicker Andres Borregales). I was like, 'Alright, here we go. I'm going to be a Baltimore Raven and go to be with Randy and Harbaugh and be a Raven.' I'm pumped." Loop has arguably the biggest leg in this year's class, making a school record 62-yard field goal at Arizona and converting 63 of 80 career field goal attempts (83.8%). He was six for nine on field goals of at least 50 yards in 2024. Though he hasn't had a ton of experience kicking in the cold winter climates he will see in the AFC North, Loop isn't worried. "Being in the Pac-12, I got to go up to Washington, Washington State, and Oregon and play up there in some cold weather and some wind and crazy conditions," Loop said. "It's something that gets me excited. "I think having a challenge to go conquer and a skillset to refine and really work on and become an expert of kicking in those conditions is something that gets me fired up. Learning from coaches who have been up there for a long time and learned how to be successful in the AFC North kicking, that's something that just the sound of gets me pumped up, so I'm really looking forward to it."

Yep, Dallas may either implode because of the fuse of Pickens or be a tremendous offense because of him
-
FRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys' search for a No. 2 wide receiver opposite Pro Bowler CeeDee Lamb has landed them George Pickens. The Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to a trade Wednesday that will send Pickens to Dallas for a 2026 third-round pick. The Cowboys will also send a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Steelers and get back 2027 sixth-round pick. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45036163/sources-cowboys-nearing-trade-steelers-wr-george-pickens

Yep, good for him to take advantage of it, but also smart enough to change the pay. On the open market now that teams can see his true talent, he wouldn't get much. Thanks for the comp pick though

Over paid to start with, now accepts a pay cut to stay employed.... https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/geno-stone-agrees-to-pay-cut-with-bengals

Tucker was let go based on the court of public opinion, no limitations on that.... I'm sure the team had indications from the league that they, the league, would be coming down hard on Tucker. Not sure what to make of Green, high-school, then an annomus claim against him in college. Bad girl friends he used and moved on from? Time will tell i guess. I'm just surprised that they even opened the door for him given what was going on with Tucker
-
I really hate the over seas games, so stupid... yes, I am awake at the time the games start, but I never watch them live, my little protest
-
Yeah, we will see what happens with Green if he balls out, gets a huge pay day and then his accusers come out to sue him in a few years if the Ravens will release him. Granted, Tucker had his on field issues the past 2 years, still.... not much of a competition, one, two days of watching Loop drill 60+ yarders, in practice

They nabbed some big, powerful, quick footed linemen between the draft and undrafted. Hopefully a few of them work out well. Could set this offense up for a few years.
-
Kind of hard to cut him now, especially with the drafting of a player accused twice, once in high-school, once in college of sexual assault. Now no charges were brought and the case never made it to civil court, but will it if he signs a big deal? Plus, best to wait & see if the kid they drafted is reliable enough to replace Tucker. He would be a June 1 cut any way.
-
Not much happening between now & then, so not so much as big deal unless he tore it. The Ravens signed 17 undrafted free agents, most will not make the team, but will 1 or 5?

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/john-harbaugh-any-kicker-decisions-in-next-few-weeks-will-be-based-on-football The Ravens drafted kicker Tyler Loop in the sixth round last month and their plans at the position came up during John Harbaugh’s press conference at the team’s rookie minicamp on Sunday. Loop’s arrival came with Justin Tucker under investigation from the league due to sexual assault allegations and Harbaugh said on Sunday that investigation is still going on. Absent any announcement from the league about Tucker’s status, Harbaugh said that any decisions in the “next few weeks will be based on football.” “As you know, Justin’s been in the building the last couple of weeks kicking and everything,” Harbaugh said, via Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. “Got a chance to talk a little bit. I would just say, from the standpoint of the investigation and all that, we don’t know anything. We haven’t been given any information. As it should be, it’s all done the way it’s done. We don’t know anything along those lines, so we can’t make any decision based on that. Every decision we make has to be made on football.”

Cool stuff, glad that they stayed put

Yeah, this slotting makes it easier unless they are a) in the top of the 1st round & or b) the team trades up for them

From NBC, Ravens have signed 9 of their 11 picks Offensive tackle Emery Jones Jr. (third round), inside linebacker Teddye Buchanan (fourth round), and offensive tackle Carson Vinson (fifth round) now are signed. Baltimore’s five sixth-round picks – cornerback Bilhal Kone, kicker Tyler Loop, wide receiver LaJohntay Wester, defensive tackle Aeneas Peebles and cornerback Robert Longerbeam — and the team’s final selection, seventh-round guard Garrett Dellinger, also are under contract.

Ravens signed offensive tackle Joseph Notebloom
tsylvester replied to tsylvester's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Yeah, the reason he came cheap. But it is a nothing burger if he gets hurts or doesn't pan out. Just depth, if he can stay healthy, very good depth -
The Ravens are adding offensive line depth as they signed tackle Joseph Noteboom on Saturday. Noteboom spent his entire seven-year career with the Rams, playing at both guard and tackle positions. He has played 71 career games with 35 starts. The Ravens bolstered their offensive line room in the draft by adding Emery Jones Jr. (third round), Carson Vinson (fifth round), and Garrett Dellinger (seventh round). General Manager Eric DeCosta said he sees Jones as a possible swing tackle right away. Adding the 29-year-old Noteboom gives Baltimore a proven, versatile veteran that can step in when needed. He fills a hole left by the Ravens' swing tackle last season, Josh Jones, who signed with the Seattle Seahawks. https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/joe-noteboom-ravens-offensive-line-roster-move

Yes, I agree, the turn overs from Lamar in the playoffs are perhaps the biggest issue. Without them last year, I've no doubt the Ravens win the Super Bowl; none. They controlled the Bills right up to the point of his fumble, the Bills defense could not stop the Ravens offense and were getting gassed. But, Mahomes had a defense that could make up for his failings last year, up until the Eagles came calling. Lamar last year against Buffalo, did not have that, the pass rush disappeared, the picks were dropped, even though the defense forced numerous punts, the rest of the offense also dropped the ball, pun fully intended. We shall see if Lamar grows from these set backs, wins a Super Bowl or two. Maybe he never does, ala Marino and other great qbs.
-
If you look at the strides of improvement from Lamar's passing over the past few years yes, you can see a vast improvement. Sure, he still struggles with those deep passes, but he is on par with most of the best and still getting better. Look at Mahomes last year, bad line, no real threat at receivers nor true running game, he was not as good as year's past. My point, it takes a lot to reveal a qbs true talent, and I think we are now seeing Lamar really coming into his own.
-
I have to believe that Lamar knows his worth to this team, that he now realizes how tasty a championship can be and perhaps more importantly, what it takes ro get one. He is smart, sees how these high salaries are hurting a team's chance to win it all. So yes, I am sure he wants the money, shoot he has enough now for a generation or two even if he stopped playing now. He will get his, and make sure so do the teammates needed to get him what he really wants, a ring.

Dak is a Cowboy, like the Browns, different rules
