So what draft position will the Ravens be in?
tsylvester replied to tsylvester's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Caleb Lomu, offensive tackle Utah 6'6" 308, a true tactician, left tackle, redshirt sophomore. If he comes out, expected to go in the top 12. Could be our answer for Stanley's spot. -
I don't know about wasted. We've had this discussion, what freaking happened? No one has answers. Top offense last year with the same players save 1, ONE, a swing guard near the end of his career and always nicked up. 40 pts against Buffalo in a loss, at Buffalo too boot, then they fell apart. The line could no longer block etc, no progession on skill, strength etc from the young linemen, 3 of them. I understand the defense, no edge rusher, the injury and then retirement of two key inside tackles, there was no way of knowing, seeing, preparing for either of those. No pressure on the pocket I don't care how good you are in the 2ndary, qbs will find open men. I will agree, Eric has missed on his picks, on free agent signings, hello Alexander still has yet to play, still a healthy scratch. Middle backer, weakside, cant seem to find one, talent is there, they just are not playing at a high level. 2 high picks on an edge rusher, both everyone not in the ear room knew were bad picks. Yeah, Eric boggled the drafts, if we had a better offensive line we would be the Bengals with a healthy Burrow, outscoring people to win, but slightly better on defense in the 2ndary, Wiggins, Starks just need experience which they are getting now, Hamilton is a stud. It's a start that can be quickly rebuilt around them, IF, they can get good edge play. Big fatty's are easy to find when you know that you need them.

My biggest issue with the defense is 1) poor angles 2) terrible tackling It hasn't just been this past game where they take bad angles to ball carrier, resulting in more yards. They constantly let the ball carrier "out the back door" as it were. Tackling, how many missed or broken tackles does this team give up each game? If there was a way to track it for the public, I would bet Baltimore is near tops. Both parts were never a part of the Baltimore defenses of old. These issues started last year and have gotten worse. That is coaching just as is the offensive line issues, poor foot work, reaching for blocks, not getting their feet under them. All lead to linemen being run over, ha ing no power. As a team, this team appears weak, again not just this game, but every game; coaching. Something happened and needs to change ASAP, since last year. We know what happened to the offensive line, a coach died a new one took over. Frankly, he stinks, evidence is the terrible line play.

Oh I get ya, but lm not sure there are any out there on teams willing to trade with Baltimore
-
Yeppers, someone not on the back end of their career
-
Meh, either way they need an edge rusher for next year at the least. Green looks lost out there, not much power. He got a nice excuse me half sack.

It's a short week game, I try not to judge but man that first half was brutal from a defensive stand point and the offensive line. Against a better than, nay, a better quarterback, that defense gets toasted. Even so, they shut em out in the 2nd half thanks in part to a bad quarterback and scored 2 more touchdowns. Win any way you can. Shame they left Miami with just a win and not an edge rusher You could make a drinking game with how many missed tackles the defense had

Nobody from the outside lineback/defensive end group can hold an edge. Holding an edge means stretching it out, not getting caved in creating a huge hole. Nor, Nor get pinned in allowing for the runner to get around the corner. This defense still sucks, they looked better the past 2 games because of other factors besides being good.

Offensive line continues to be offensive, yet no changes, right coach Harbs? They are playing great, right coach Harbs? 1 drive for a score, 1 score took 4 plays from the 3 yard line to get in and was only possible thanks to a turnover. Change the guards!
-
Defense gets a gift call of tripping, offense gives it right back with undisciplined play. Special teams, Harb's bread & butter, gives it up even more. Good hold, credit, by the defense to hold them to a field goal when they started at the Baltimore 29 yard line.. This is a playoff team? I think not. Prove me wrong when I wake up and see who won, when I watch the recording

Only our defense could have a guy stopped, surrounded for a 6 yard loss and let him get 8 yards

What an abysmal opening show.... and Kaylee, young lady, eat something, you look like a bobble head, have a burger on a roll, with lettuce and tomato, side of fries with gravy on the side

10 games left, no, 1 game left and it is tonight. Lose tonight and while you can still be mathematically alive, but reality is you are done. As it stands, they will likely have to go 8-2 over the next 10 weeks, certainly a sweep of the Steelers is almost a must, it all starts tonight..mmmmmm

Flacco has a shoulder issue, took a pounding the past 2 games. Cinci may have to go back to Browning. Joe wants to try and play through the ac joint pain. He will need a bigger spleaph to do that

It's has been confirmed that Lamar w As the one who ordered the toys and toy box taken out of the lockerroom, carry on
-
Yep, Harbs and the players have been taking shots at Todd all season, even though this offense has been performing better than the defense. Yet they all stick up for the defensive coordinator. Smh

Just what the NFL envisioned when they made up the schedule for the 2025 season, 2 underperformed teams teetering on the brink of obscurity, both recording their 2nd wins of the season in week 8, slated to star opening the week 9 games on Thursday night. Phew, that was a long, run on sentences, I suppose I could properly structure it, but mentally it is too tough for this old mind. That is my excuse and I'm sticken to it. Yes, to succeed in the NFL one must be mentally strong, something that has come into question with both franchises lately; they are stuck in their heads. On paper, the Phins have a passing attack, or at least the potential for one, that could shred the best defenses. But closer look at the paper and we can see it is written on with disappearing ink. Miami is 25th in passing offense, despite their explosion last week. Which passing attack Baltimore will face is anyone's guess. Which ever, Baltimore best bring its best pass rushing plan and execute it with prejudice, to make sure this game doesn't turn into a shoot out. Only the shadow knows if Lamar will play Thursday night, and game played on this short of a week day's rest, anything usually happens. So, who ya got?

Over my head

Yeah, not sure why they didn't change at least one of the guards to get work in against a bad defensive line. What, was this an operation to get these guys positive playing, to help them feel better?
-
What ever it is, ugliest things I've seen in a while...
-
So true, so true. Hey, how did those talented uniform makers for the Squeelers get puke to stay in line like that...
-
Against the Phins defense, Noteboom will be or should be fine. They are bottom dwellers against the run and in yards per play. They also give up more long runs (20 or more yards) than any other team. The only reason they are ranked 11th against the pass, 200 yards per game, is because teams run against them they are so bad at stopping the run. Offensively I am not too worried even if Huntley plays. This secondary though, and lack of pressure, Tua with time will eat them up
-
Well, the coach claimed that there would be changes, plural, as I said in the game thread, aside from the injured players returning, the only change, singular, was the qb: Rush out, Huntley in. I admit, I was happy when they went away from Huntley and signed Rush. He had shown more ability in the passing while with Dallas. That, unfortunately didn't translate to here, he was hesitant in passing plays down field and off target. He held the ball too long leading to sacks. Then he would press and turn the ball over. He runs just as well if not better than Huntely, so why they didn't call the same type of plays for him as they did Huntely is beyond me. But the line was still the same. Against one of the worst defenses against the rush, while they did get 177 yards rushing, 71 from Henry, it could have been better. And two long runs, one by Mitchell the other, Huntely, skew the stat a bit. Pass protection was good enough, but then the Bears are not known for rushing the passer. The only time we saw a change on the line was when Stanley was hurt. No Cleveland, no Bullock at either guard.

It's just as much of a must win as this one was, so if he can yes. Let him split time with Noteboom. Phins don't have a serious pass rush so. With their offense waking up against the Falcons, who have a very good defensive line & pass rush, Thursday's game is likely to be a shoot out with the Baltimore defense so easy to throw against.. Hate the Thursday games, who know how a team is going to be able to play.
