  1. There are not many better options left in free agency at the qb position. Sure, some would be better than Huntley, but only in stats, not in wins. Look around, Washington had a very good defense, put up numbers offensively, but lost games because one of those big numbers was turnovers, offensive turnovers. Or sacks, not because their line was bad, but because their qb didn't see the open man before he became open. Huntley's major issue is his lack of arm strength, last season that went haywire, because he hurt his shoulder. Sure, they can groom someone, but Hooker's biggest issue is over thinking at the LOS, a bad sign. He may get over it, he has tremendous potential, but in the end, he always ends up thinking too much, in college, missing the big play that would win the game, or making that mistake that cost them the games.
  2. No way Hooker at 22, maybe in the 3rd if he is there, let someone else draft him, try and develop him. I would wait to see how the top 15 goes, if they right receiver drops below that, trade up to get him. No sense letting another team step in and grab him as has happened before. If the right corner is there at 22, speed, size, instincts, grab him. This team is nicely put together with only a few holes, they don't need to draft 10 players, they need to hit on 3 of 5 or better. It would be better to trade forward into the 2nd from later round draft picks. Wait, never mind, they usually miss on 2nd round players
  3. Here is to hoping the brain trust has When it comes to wide outs
  4. Well, 16, OK, 15 & 1/2 days until the draft... Let's get this party started, who ya got?
  5. So they signed his cousin, then his best friend, fired fired his oc, hired one that is an offensive innovator, all at his request. Made him an offer that would make him the 2nd highest paid qb in league history (for now), please tell me how they a) don't value him & b) don't care about him?????? Crickets and peppers
  6. Welp, Todd knows how to scheme plays to take advantage of a player's talent, the only 2 questions are; will Lamar see the openings & throw on time, on target & 2) will OBJ be healthy enough for most of the season...
  7. I understand their desire for better wide outs, but the guy is an often injured malcontent, not what this team needs. Maybe this was to placate Lamar, they are friends. Oy
  8. Crap, the Ravens have OBJ. 1 year up to $18 mil according to Espn The new deal reportedly includes a $13.835 million signing bonus, a $1.165 million base salary and $3 million in incentives
  9. Hey, as fans all we can do is cheer & say
  10. Thankfully it is a young team, with not many holes to fill. They need quality over quantity.
  11. Ah the agonizingly boring time 20 or so days before most drafts, more so now with the questions surrounding Lamar, will he be traded, to whom, for how much? Will the Ravens then draft the next leader of offense? Which one? Where, 4, 14, 22, later? Will he stay with the Ravens, if so, will they then draft a wide out at 22, trade it down for more picks? We all just want to know
  12. Man I love an overcomer, Stetson was just that, pure determination got him back to back championships. I think he will be a very good back up qb, for a few years given his age, his height. While he is a quick twitch, quick release qb with excellent vision, I can't see him being any more than a backup. As far as arm strength for Tune, while it is true, he does not have the strongest arm, six passes, air yards, of over 40 yards tells the tale as they say. It is strong enough.
  13. I wouldn't mind seeing them taking Clayton Tune, from Houston. 6'3, 200 pounds (room to bulk up). Good, solid, accurate arm, not a true running qb, but he moves through the pocket well, and can escape. He three for just over 4,000 yards last year, with 40 touchdowns. Yes, Likely a system qb, but in Monken's system, his short quick release could pay dividends. He is pretty accurate down field, had six passes of 40 yards or more, not the catch a quick hitch but actual air yards. He needs grooming, as one would expect from a later round pick, but...
  14. Yeah Hooker is one you have to question his football IQ. A world beater in talent, just as much as the other guys, but he struggles with complex defenses and even some of his own plays.
  15. The often injured Teddy B is supposedly on the Ravens radar. Not sure he would be better than Huntley, as one stiff wind would cause him great bodily harm..
  16. I was going to link it to a joke site, but most of them have hi jack software
  17. Yeah, he wants to trade skittles for twinkies
  18. 7 years, $200 mil guaranteed, $133 at signing, injury insurance, last two years are voidable, total value $240 mil https://www.espn.com/nfl/
  19. I would highly doubt he signs here, that was likely an offer as in, yes we would like you but this is all we can offer. Then they can say, hey, we tried to upgrade the wide receivers
  20. Ravens made an offer to OBJ, no word on the details as of yet... ouch..
  21. They could have a deal in place with the Ravens & Lamar that if x player is not there, then we do the deal. If he is, deal is off.
  22. While the Colts only have @ $11 mil in cap space and little wiggle room in contracts, they can structure a deal, worked out ahead of time, that has a very low first year cap hit, much like the Browns did with Watson’s deal.
  23. I know that this is a basketball player, but allow me to make this point. Wowza! Ever wonder why Lamar has not had endorsement deals like this? Or even a quarter of this? Sure, he is not exactly a top star like Curry is, but papa, we talked on this subject before, with the MVP of football, the exciting way Lamar plays, one would think, especially with Under Armor being a Baltimore based company, that he could land something, no? https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/03/02/does-lamar-jackson-have-the-endorsement-deals-that-a-player-of-his-status-should/ I posed that Lamar might not want to be under the thumb of those companies and the rules that follow for endorsement deals. But 1 BILLION, yeah, I'll bark like a dog if they want me to for that amount of money. It isn't just the NFL contracts he might not understand,... it isn't just the Ravens, the other owners who are staying away from him, that post to the fan would have cost him some serious cash from an endorsement deal...
  24. Nope, they would just carry over the cap money from this year if he doesn't play. So just roughly what, $12.mil extra next year.
  25. Here is a load of malarkey https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/five-reasons-why-lamar-jackson-doesnt-have-his-big-contract-and-five-counterarguments-for-each/ Here are my 5 reasons 1)He is showing his immaturity on social media 2) He is showing his lack of leadership on social media 3) He is not accurate on windy days 4) He misses games because he eats foods that upset his tummy 5) He plays terrible when the temperature gets below 60 degrees
